Judith Hoag, who played April O' neal in the original film, was actually really pissed off that the crew had editted the script so much. Originally, both Krang and the Technodrome, were supposed to be In the first film. But they simplified it for convenience and realism. So dhe didn't come back for 2 or 3. It's okay though. She totally kicks ass as Marnie's mom in the Disney "Halloween Town" series. ALAO, 3 was okay. It's not as good as one and two. But I appreciate what they were trying to do. 3 Involves Time Travel. If you ever watched the old 90's cartoon, or played the games, you know. They were starting to put their foot in the door for dimensional travel & alternate worlds. I always say, "3 wasn't that good. But 4? 4 WOULD'VE FUCKING ROCKED !!!" I hope you do go and watch 3 on your own time. It's still cool. It was just the akward phase before what would've come next. That's all.

Funner fact: literally the exact same tube of ooze that created the ninja turtles and Splinter, also created Daredevil.
In the comic, Splinter tells their origin story as, “an old blind man was about to be hit by a truck, but was pushed away at the last second by a young boy. The boy was struck in the face by a canister. The canister hit the ground and shattered spilling its contents. In the ooze that had been contained in the canister, he spotted the four turtles. He scooped them out of the ooze and into an empty coffee can and took them into the sewer to hide. After some time he noticed that they began to speak and grow.”
I have a theory that the reason Splinter and the turtles were so human-like, and Tokka and Razar were not, is Matt Murdock’s human dna (blood from hitting him in the face), was mixed into the ooze.
By the way… did I mention that that little boy was named… Matt Murdock?!

The actress who played April in the original was not brought back because she was horrible to work with. She was constantly complaining about the working conditions. Elias Koteas (KC Jones) was supposedly doing another movie at the time but returned in the 3rd movie in two roles. I don't remember much about the 3rd movie but I don't remember it being silly. Ernie Reyes Jr (Keno) is a martial artist, learned from his dad and has been in many tv shows and movies. I remember him as a tiny little kid in the movie The Last Dragon. Corey Feldman did not return as the voice of Donetello in this movie but did return in part 3. Bebop and Rocksteady were not allowed to be used due to some copyright issues. No weapons used cuz parents complained that the first movie was too violent so they toned it down, way down. In the original script, the Professor was going to be revealed as being from the same alien species as Krang but disguised as a human. It would have been revealed at the end that he walked away with the last vile of the ooze. Part 3 has the turtle traveling back in time. But they trade places with Samurai. So while the turtles are in the past, Japan's past, the Samurai are shown in the present time. April also get stuck in the past. The movie as also supposed to start up a multiverse storyline that would cross over between part 3, a cartoon and comic book and eventually end up, probably in cartoon or movie format with various turtles from different realities teaming up. Within part 3 there is a mural shown that shows a small part of this story line. While the cartoon and the comic were made, the final outcome never came to be.

The 1st movie is a classic and will always hold up. I'm not surprised that watching the 2nd movie for the first time as adults wasn't as enjoyable as it was for those of us who first watched it as kids. It is riddled with flaws but part of its charm is that it still somehow manages to be entertaining. The same can't be said of the 3rd movie. To answer some of the key questions about this movie:
    1. April was recast because the original actress apparently complained too much about the shooting conditions on the first film.
    2. Corey Feldman wasn't brought back as Donatello because he had drug addiction issues at the time.
    3. Rocksteady and Bebop weren't featured because the producers wanted to have some new characters to sell toys of.
    4. The violence was toned down because some adults complained the first film had too much violence.
    5. Casey Jones wasn't brought back because it was felt the movie already had too many characters to service.

Original April actress thought the first movie was too violent so she didn't want to return. There was a lot of crap in the media saying the original movie was "too violent" so they toned it down for this movie, and even further in the third movie which is an abomination! Despite the budgets being bigger than the original movie, the turtles look increasingly worse with each movie. (and yes, everyone was expecting Bebop and Rocksteady, but they wanted new characters so they could make more toys 🙄)

3:37 - Keno is played by Ernie Reyes Jr., son of Ernie Reyes Sr. (natch), one of the best fight choreographers of the 80s and 90s. Jr. was one of the stunt fighters in the first film, then he got the role of Keno in this one. He went on to star in his own movie, Surf Ninjas, with his dad and a young Rob Schnider, and later appeared in The Rundown with The Rock.
5:06 - It's an easy thing to miss, but the hints are their that those are actually THEIR pizzas.
7:25 - In the movie it's TGRI, in the comics it's TCRI: Techno- _Cosmic_ -Research Industries. It was a front for extra-dimensional aliens trying to find their way home (the 'utroms' were the inspiration for Krang in other continuities).
7:53 - 'Oprah's On!' was actually an advertising campaign for the Oprah Winfrey show in the late 80s' early 90s.

It could have been better without parents disrespecting their kids thinking they are too stupid to be able to separate film from real life but parents are going to parents; even back in the day they always found something to panic or be outraged about🙄. More things change more they stay the same and all that. That said, I still quite enjoy it.

Kevin Nash said in and interview that he made more money playing super shredder for a day, than performing on the road w/WWF back in his glory days. Sadly the studio recast Corey Feldman due to substance abuse issues. I believe the original April chose not to reprise her role, why I'm not sure. Casey Jones was brought back in #3 but by then it was to late. The lack of weapon use by the turtles were due to ALL the outraged mother's after the first one (personally I think they just needed a good DD and they'd have been fine with it, oh well what's done is done).

There are things about the 3rd movie that you can't excuse, but I feel the majority of people don't like it, mainly cause it's not what they expected. TMNT was HUGE with kids. Like 1999 pokemon huge if not maybe even more so. Everywhere you went you saw something from TMNT. They even had TMNT fishing poles-im not joking. Pies, ice cream bars, cereal, trading cards, games, clothes-you name it they had it. Ads every commercial break. Toy shelves full of TMNT from start to the end of the aisle. Their throne would be stolen by power rangers in 1993. (A 1995 comic showed the turtles whooping ass on some very ranger looking guys as a joke) and pokemon and beanie babies filled the rest of the decade when rangers began to lose their heat around 1997.
