"Every building should be built the way a flower exists in its place- it should be rooted in place, it should collect the water that falls on it, it should collect and use only the sun that falls on it; it should provide beauty and use while it's in existence, and it should have a plan for its recycling when it's all done."

@chowe9, I like your comment, but recycle is the 3rd best of 3 choices. The saying goes: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. So a plan to reuse is even better!
Recycling takes a lot of energy and fuel (pollution) is involved.
I wish companies would take back old products (voluntarily) and replace the inner parts with their new, improved product to sell.
Imagine all the outer shells never making it to the landfill, like home air filters, microwave ovens, etc.

Lisa Starr - The following was posted by another commentator and made me think plus revise my initial opinion.
At first I kind of agreed with comments that called out the man, Walker, and his demeanor, but then I watched the video more. He listened carefully to his partner, Heather, when she did speak and did not interrupt. I had the sense she felt fine to speak whenever she wanted to, but her partner's interests were not her own. She doesn't look happy, but I don't see there's any indication of the reason why (and I don't know how anyone can say, based on a short video, that just because she seems unhappy, she MUST be unhappy-maybe she's nervous or tired). I feel it's irresponsible for people to cast aspersions based on the video.
I'm also sort of sad about it; this man was excited to share information with viewers, and many of the viewers here responded with judgment and insults. Look, Walker seems thoughtful and passionate. He has obviously read much about biophilic design and biomimicry, areas of inquiry not far afield of his career, according to what he himself said. Have Americans-and I don't know, maybe the commenters here are not American, but we seem the rudest bunch of people online-tumbled so low into disinformation and ignorance that we take erudition and passion for knowledge to be imperiousness and enjoying the sound of one's own voice? Do we devalue erudition so much (perhaps feel threatened by it), that we'll just dump a bunch of insulting comments and not take responsibility for our own issues?
Yes, sometimes, on YT especially, there are rude men who seem domineering for the sake of being domineering, but I don't see that here. And there are gentler ways of saying things, especially on a channel that does so much to bring positivity into the world. This channel always feels to me a space where its interviewers can expect to be treated well, so when they are not, it's especially disheartening.

I very much agree. As much as I loved the outside look of the house and design, I spent the rest of the time monitoring their body language, with the sound on mute - which is a first with Bryce's videos. It was a struggle to listen to. He is not the first tiny houser to build an eco-friendly, sustainable, permaculture tiny home out of recycled materials. Just everyone else interviewed who did are far less braggy. Nice house but...

B Lozano V - The following was posted by another commentator and made think plus revise my initial opinion. The last paragraph should be read taken to heart by those posters who were nasty to vicious (you appear to be judgemental about the partner but were not nasty).

He did talk a lot and he did say "I, me, my" a lot, but I wouldn't interpret it as egocentric. I think he's just very passionate about design and this must have been a project that he was really invested into, and his spouse seemed to just let him talk because he was the architect behind it. There are loads of other videos in which, if it's a male-female couple, the woman is the one that does most of the talking, because she's the one who thought out more about the functionality or the sustainability or the aesthetic of the design, and the man just stands by quietly, and that's fine too.
Also, it could be that she talked a lot more in the original recording, but when they edited the video they needed to keep to the time constrain, and perhaps because he talked more about the purpose behind the design, maybe more of the things that she said were left out...?

Americans always take the term "hygge" and make it this grand thing, literally it's just an everyday term for having a nice time. Grabbing a coffee or a beer with a friend can be hygge. Being lazy, watching a movie. Having a chat with someone. Yes, purposely creating a cozy atmosphere can be hygge too, but "the art of cozy" sounds so pretentious lmao, if you hang out with people you like it's automatically "hygge"

This! Now that Scandinavian culture has become trendy it’s weird hearing other cultures co-opt it and sound pretentious. Aspects of Scandinavian culture can definitely be pretentious- some Danes are total snobs about fashion and design. But hygge is the opposite of pretentious- it’s enjoying little moments with loved ones, cozy lightheartedness, perhaps indulging in a little something yummy to eat or drink. It’s cool that she’s inspired by it, but it’s more about how you act than how you decorate your home, and this couple definitely don’t give off a hyggelig vibe. They seem like they have a lot to prove. Also, if you want to get into the Scandi lifestyle, stop wearing your dirty shoes in the house! Keep some slippers by the door and offer them to your guests- that’s hygge.

If a person lives in a large house and then realizes it better to downsize and leave less of a footprint, so they rent out their larger house instead of selling it, you have a problem with that? The big house is already there. Some people watching the small and tiny house videos will decide to also downsize. My son wants to buy his first house to be a tiny house some day when he works and saves to pay cash since he does not believe in going into debt. I have decided to downsize also.

It is strange of how often did he talk about himself and how little did he use "us", "our", "we" pronouns. Despite the beauty of the house and considerate choices around it I wasn't able to see a space for her wants and needs, acctually. Maybe it is just an impression, but it made me quite concerned about her living in a tiny house despite not being very convinced to the project...

carolb801 - The following was posted by another commentator and made me think plus revise my initial opinion.
