Hi! Supermooie video!

Hey Ben, thanks for your kind reply! The handheld we used is a Insta360 Go 2 and for a drone we used the DJI Mavic Mini.

Fantastic video guys. I'm heading to this part of the world at the end of June and can't wait. Can I ask did you use paper maps or GPS to navigate the trail? Also what drone do you use to capture this amazing footage?

Hey, thanks for your reply! We bought a Trekking Guide guidebook from Cicerone and used the map from Huber Map.
As a back-up we had digital GPS. The drone is a DJI Mavic Mini (1st generation). Good luck planning and have fun!

Great video. Planning this trek this year. What date did you start - seems quiet hot? Did you carry all your food for the whole trip from the beginning, or did you resupply? Where?

Hi, thanks for your reply! We hiked in end of July; it was quite hot indeed. In Tirana it was around 40 degrees and higher up around Theth it was still in the low 30's. Warm but do-able, especially if you adapt your daily schedule.
We carried all of our food with us for the trek.

What a beautiful video. Just what I needed to absolutely confirm me to do this hike this summer!!
If you would be so kind to answer a couple of questions I would really appreciate it! I feel like I have so many but here are some:
    1) I’m planning on doing the full 10 day hike - stopping at the classic 10 stops. I’ve heard there is accommodation at each place? I know you camped each night yourself but did you meet anybody who wasn’t camping? I have no experience with camping and tbh would rather not carry the tent & supplies.
    2) did you bother with the border crossing ‘waiver’ ? Is it worth doing so?

Hi, thanks for the complement and reply! Cool that you're doing the trek this summer, especially if you'll do all 190km of it :)
      To answer your questions:
      1) Yes, each stop has several guest house options. Apart from a place to sleep, these also offer dinner and breakfast. Per 'stop' there were several of these, however I cannot say if they were all pre-booked and full. Our experencie was that these are not your typical "Booking.com" accomodations, so I would take the gamble of just going.
      2) We bought the bording crossing waiver. We didn't get checked but we would buy them again. Firstly, it's better to come prepared than have your trip ruined by something like this. Secondly, you are a guest in a foreign country where you want to enjoy their nature. They have rules - and even if we might think they're abundant and annoying - so we stick to them, we would expect the same when foreigners visit us. That's our approach anyways, decide for yourself!
      Enjoy the planning :)

@@dutchtrailrunning6414 thanks so much for the reply. Yh I’m really looking forward to planning it now. I’ve stayed in some pretty 1* places in SE Asia 🤣 so I’ll be happy with whatever the towns have to offer for sure! But at least there’s something there - which is a weight off my mind so thank you!
And completely right with point no.2 👏🏻
Planning late May rolling into June 🤞🏻

Nice video (thanks), after seeing your amazing Scotland video. Was wondering, do you think your Lanshan tent would be OK in Scotland? Could it make it through rough weather there? (I have another Chinese tent - Knot and am thinking about 1st half of Cape Wrath Trail).

    • @dutchtrailrunning6414
      @dutchtrailrunning6414  Год назад +2

Hi Danos, thanks for the reply! I would be comfortable taking the Lanshan on the Cape Wrath trek. I think it's personal though: although I have no doubt the tent will hold up in the rough weather it may be less comfortable and specious in the rain than say a 3-season tent from an A-brand and it may feel less secure. If you're fine with that, I would foresee no problems! The tent is stronger than you'd expect ;)
      Cheers!

Is de lanshan een beetje te doen voor iemand van ongeveer 185?
