My ancestors came to the USA from Eastern Europe roughly 110 to 130 years ago. I did not know that my ancestral homelands held such beauty. Truly this was a beautiful trek. Perhaps, some day, I could hike there, if I can first find the Fountain of Youth. Thank you for sharing this video.

Aaaaahhhh....Bulgaria is such a beautiful country! The landscape is so diverse with mountainous peeks, deep valleys, lakes and plateaus. It reminds me of Patagonia, except for the huts though. What a beautiful and inspiring hike. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Much respect!

I have loved watching all of your videos! Joined to watch AV1 and have stayed to watch John Muir and now this. Awesome quality! Did you hike all of this on your own? How did you achieve the solo videos? I would like to know how to capture some of those! Thanks for any advice!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed watching one video that made you want watch all the other hiking videos that I made so far :) And yes, these 3 hikes I started hiking solo. I would sometimes hike with other people for a short while doing the same trail if we enjoy our conversations. And regarding filming, I carry a camera and a small tripod (I have created a gear list with all of my gear in the description of the video), and I would place the camera walk by it when I'm at a scenic location or there is a change of scenery or there is something interesting happening, then walk back to get the camera. This can be a tedious process, but in the end the effort is worth it. Sometimes I would also talk the camera, but I try not to overdo that. And then the magic happens in the editing, where all of those shots are put together. For me that is what takes the longest time, but it can also be quicker if for example it is a shorter hike. I hope that helps and that you will get out there and capture your experience :)

Maybe one day I will hike the TMB, but a few years ago I hiked the Walkers Haute Route (from Chamonix to Zermatt) which was an amazing hike and shares the trail with the TMB for a few days. I'm sure the TMB will be spectacular as well. But first I have to finish another hiking film that I'm working on, should be an interesting one to watch, most likely will be finished in March/April, stay tuned :)
You're welcome. And no, I haven't hiked the E3, but I just saw that there is a guidebook in English for the E3 as well which could be helpful. I have however some friends that have done both the E3 and the E4, and some say the E4 is a trail they would enjoy hiking every year, while the E3 is still nice, once is enough. But again these are just opinions which are subjective. Best of luck

Thank you. What I used to find water was a combination of two things. One was the guidebook for the trail (there is a version of the book in Bulgarian and in English) and inside it were described where slightly longer waterless stretches were and where the last places to fill up on water were. And the second option I used was an offline topographical map with GPX track on my phone that I could use both for navigation as well as seeing where there might be water sources. Hope that helps. HI Lyubo, thank you for the very informative response. Have you also done the Bulgarian part of E3?
You're welcome. And no, I haven't hiked the E3, but I just saw that there is a guidebook in English for the E3 as well which could be helpful. I have however some friends that have done both the E3 and the E4, and some say the E4 is a trail they would enjoy hiking every year, while the E3 is still nice, once is enough. But again these are just opinions which are subjective. Best of luck

Hey very nice video, is there a app where you find the Water?
Thank you. What I used to find water was a combination of two things. One was the guidebook for the trail (there is a version of the book in Bulgarian and in English) and inside it were described where slightly longer waterless stretches were and where the last places to fill up on water were.
And the second option I used was an offline topographical map with GPX track on my phone that I could use both for navigation as well as seeing where there might be water sources. Hope that helps. Cheers
