I was going to get a chinchilla after I gave my hedgehog to someone who would care for her better than I did. I instead got a ferret, but I still love watching your videos!
Ferrets are supposed to be wild they like being in snow and sand but I can't stop you congrats

Pastel_Cloud I know I’m late, but most ‘exotic’ pets are still wild. Chinchillas are still wild in many areas, however many are bred captivity and cannot live in the wild. Same thing with dogs. Any animal has potential to be wild.
my parents said i can’t get a chinchilla but I can’t except the fact that they said no, so I continue to cry and watch ur videos until their convinced :)
I have 6 chinchillas now I just cant stop trying to save them from the dog pound and Petco it kills me to see them caged up depressed no animal deserves that life they get so happy when you show them some attention it's sad

i don’t think it’s the best to buy pets from big chain pet stores because they come from pet mills and it’s really the best if you stop supporting pet stores and i get that it may seem like your “saving” the animals but if you buy it pet stores will still just get the money and keep doing it

That’s amazing I’m getting more chinchillas in a week cuz it’s sooooooo sad to see them currently I have 5 chins good job for saveing them

I’m planning on getting a chinchilla and your a big help I wrote down a few thing and by a few I mean a whole page but it’s worth it and it’s going to be a big help and on what to get I don’t know if you have a video on what you need for a chinchilla but if not can you make one
Hi there! I was wondering how often you have to buy toys and other chinchilla items. If you could help, that'd be great! I love your channel and I've been here since 1k!
Dolly Meowmeow so for toys, I buy mine toys when ever my chin runs out, so like when there are not many and the ones she has are small, and very used. You can make a schedule to buy toys but you can buy them as needed. Others item is depends. Hay and food as needed, dust as needed, most of the stuff just order/buy when you are about to run out, but before you run out. Hope this helps!
Hi! This video was so helpful thank you. Just wondering if you would ever do a video about treats/food they could eat? Like what treats available for purchase do you recommend vs not recommend? What to look for in those treats? What about fruits, veggies, eggs (people food i guess) etc. thanks again! Much love for you, Merlin, and Zorro.
Ashley Polsen she did make a video about safe, and unsafe treats already, it is older so if you want to search it up. Safe treats include dried rose hips, goji berries, and non frosted shredded wheaties. Commercially sold treats are not usually good because they are made for many different animals, they are not made for the pets specific diet. People food is not good. Fruits and veggies have too much moisture and sugar, so steer clear. Hope this help a little!
It’s healthier to not give treats but safe ones are dried strawberries by the brand oxbow and they should only get them 2-3 times a week. No wet veggies or anything.

Hello ive been watching you for a while and been thinking about getting a chinchilla but I only want one for the moment and I dont want them to get depressed because they naturally need to be in hurds so what should I do or think about?

What’s your best advice for giving treats to 2 chinchillas, mine are bonded but the baby one likes to steal my older ones treats. This lead to them fighting and they are newly bonded, I am worried that the treats will break the bond😬
Happened to me. I took them out one at a time and fed them. My younger /smaller one was getting beat up and I saw major improvements in there relationship

HEYYY where did you get your tall play pen from ?
Would having one level of the cage be a Bass Equipment replacement pan be the same as tile? I have no idea how to cut tile, but the Bass Equipment pans are sized so I’m hoping it would be okay.....
If you really wanna use tile, just use a potty box.

I've been doing some research because I want to get my own Chinchilla, and i've read that especially on the top levels they can pee outside the cage and on walls. Have you found that to be an issue?
Ik I’m really late to this video but can chinchillas have wood cages, or will they most likely chew through them?
Also if you are in southern California and need a good chinchilla vet theres 2 that I go to that not only are very well priced but they wont rip you off and run all these test on your chin that isn't needed I've been to many near los angels and they want to charge a arm and leg just to find out what's wrong with your chin stay away from them all they want is your money they dont give a shit about if your chinchilla dies or lives. 1st vet is in corona off main street just Google chinchilla vet in corona ca it will pop up.the next one is in riverside ca it's a 24/7 everyday opened vet it's called Arlington vet. Hope this helps someone

The food I use for my chinchilla has dry berries and seends and lots of stuff and also a treat as a stick of seeds stick together as a stick is it oke?

My chinchilla drinks his water out of a ceramic bowl because he kept bitting through the corner of the bottle (it was all plastic besides the metal tube) that was against the cage so I switched to a bowl, he never tips it over, doesn't bite it or gets wet he's really good with it, should i still switch to a bottle (maybe a glass one idk) or is this okay?
How do you get them back in the cage? Mine keeps running under stuff and i cant get him back in so i don't take him out that much

Hi! How are you keeping the ends of the cage from moving? My chins would definitely push the ends and end up getting out at times-

omg my chinchilla WONT drink out of a waterbottle. we tried it for the first few months but she would never NEVER drink so I was so scared she was dehydrated. She only drinks out of a bowl idk why I was so scared that she would get wet too but I didn't know what to do cause I didn't want her to not have water

I have a blanket type thing for my chinchillas is that ok?
This is the 1st video I seen that recommended temperatures no higher than 69 degrees. Other articles recommended temperatures no higher than 73 degrees which I completely disagree with. From experience and observation, my Chinchillas are most comfortable between 66 and 67 degrees. I listen to the noises and observe a great deal of restlessness showing that they are very uncomfortable at 71 degrees. My larger and fluffier Chinchillas do show signs of discomfort at 68 and 69 degrees, so I try to get my den at 67 degrees.

I want to get a pair of Chinchillas, but my parents are very concerned about our dogs
Wanting to eat them everyday amd i am also concerned so I wanted to ask for advice on what you think (i don't want them to live in terror because of my dogs) also the breeder who i contacted said i should put the cage higher up which isn't much of a problem but i thknk my dogs will obsess over them (i once had chicks and although they didn't attack them they were always trying to get a better look at them.....

How does Merlin not escape from that fence! I bought two 48’’ play pens and connected them to make a huge play area and my two chinchillas escaped within a minute. I’m currently in the process of fleecing the entire fence to hopefully keep them in!
Brittany Ruiz I’ve heard several people tell me that too, and it’s never happened with Merlin. I think it’s because he’s a bigger size. He’s definitely had the opportunity and he curiously goes to the cage fencing all the time but never tries to escape. I watch Zorro more carefully because he’s a lot tinier and nimble 💕
My chinchilla has eating problems and use to eat way to much so now I give him about 1/4 cup every day do you think that’s ok?
Lyla Ubben A healthy amount for an adult chinchilla is about 2 tablespoons or 2 1/2 tablespoons 💕

i have a question can you keep the chinchilla cage in my room were i sleep
vickygamer 101 I do, it works fine for them as long as you make sure there’s some sense of privacy, I cover the top half so they can hide without using their huts. But they are really loud so be prepared to loose sleep
vickygamer 101 yea, I have my chinchilla in my bedroom and she is great! Just make sure to keep your floor clean (like pick stuff up and sweep) and chinchilla proof from room (make sure there are no small holes your chinchilla can squeeze into).

Im hoping to get a chinchilla in a month or two and ive been doing so much research and planning to get this giant ball of chunk and fluff
You can actually potty-train your chinchilla to pee in a litter box. Just remove all the fleece, etc and place a container filled with paper beddings and they pick up the cue rather quickly.
