There are RUclips videos showing how to reattach your locs. Thank you for sharing the results of not wearing a bonnet or scarf at night. Most people think you’re just keeping lint out of your locs but your cotton sheets will suck the moisture out of your hair. Now you know. I buy silk scarves at the thrift store to make sure I always have a scarf. Your hair will keep growing. Five lost locs won’t be obvious unless you point it out. Don’t try to retie when you’re tired. Your energy needs to be positive when you work with your locs. Speak some love over your head. I’m glad you say “it’s hair!” It is and it will be your glorious crown. Get a good routine so you don’t have to think about it when you’re feeling down. Don’t underestimate the power of a trim to get your locs shaped and looking good. I wet my hair almost every morning in the shower to keep my locs moist. Enjoy the length you have. Your locs are beautiful. Do not bleach your hair trying to make the locs look different. Enjoy the freedom you have to get up and go! By your next retie a lot of these concerns will be a thing of the past. Someone else recommended tea tree oil with a carrier oil. Only use 1-2 drops of tea tree oil. Peppermint essential oil is also a good way to get rid of itching. Mix it with a carrier oil too. Good luck!
I just got to 2 years, maintenance by me after first 6 months learned everything from you tube videos. Decided what I was going to do and what I wasn't but one thing I never wavered from is silk pillow cases and that hot ass bonnet. It's July and I am 67 and still have hot flashes. Thanks for sharing
I’m right there with you between work, school, the house and kids self care was at the end of my list. I’m getting better got my satin pillow cases because ion like bonnets. I’m in the part of my loc journey where I’m struggling to love my look with my microlocs.
Please check into your iron levels. The lack of iron will cause hair loss. Also the b vitamins and any other hair growing supplements. Keep your hair moisturized and make sure your hydrating well enough.
I'm wondering if the breakage has more to do with the hair dye you used, particularly since it seems to come from where the dye ends. I'm so sorry they fell out. the hair close to your scalp looks healthy and strong -- it will grow back stronger and better!
Had the same issue in the middle of my head but i think it was due to stress and my scratching the middle of my head which i heard was bad to do. Make sure to keep hair moisturized with rose water and a lil oil
I know this 2 mos old and about locs and I'm loose natural, but I did the same thing! No bonnet and not moisturizing as a hard back sleeper. Same area and I noticed it when I went to wear 2 strand twists, it was awful. I wished it was locs I could simply attach back in, unfortunately those stands are just gone. Thankfully I just caught this during my drooling over ppl's locs, cuz guess again who slept last night unbonnet'd 🤷🏿♀🤷🏿♀
Oh no I hate your going through that, I know it can be the worst feeling. Maybe one day you’ll start your loc journey! (But you have to wear that bonnet lol)

I have invested in so many bonnets now but I’m definitely need to invest in silk pillow cases!
@keelivin yes its just too hot for a bonnet and with the silk pillowcases I don't have to have anything on my head
😊 stay positive. You do have lots of growth though...don't wait too long. Other than the bonnet, I think that also contributed to the loss

Beautiful daughter 😍
Make sure not to rub the spots too much it prevents hair growth too. Thanks for sharing ❤
Use the crochet needle to loc up the ones that fell out and reattach. Hunni it's apart of the process

It looks like you’re not retightening it frequently enough … there is a lot of new growth.
I agree. Not sleeping with a bonnet will not break your locs off. Also, not moisturizing enough will cause damage as well
Thanks for sharing the real struggles ❤❤❤
Oh wow! Several in one spot , I feel for you. Good luck
Doing too much to your locs - less is MORE

Dryness and wearing no bonnet all played a part in it. I took out my reattach locs and now I’m just starting the process over again.
New fear unlocked
Don’t worry just keep your locs protected at nights and don’t wait to long for reties

I think it's the hair dye. Ijs
No need to reaattach your hair your hair's gotta grow because it's beautiful and baby girl is so cute❤❤❤
Thank you, I actually took some of the re attached locs out over a few months back. I’m seeing growth already and happy about that!!
Tea tree oil does well when mixed with a 'carrier' oil such as Castor oil
One of my locs fell out too! It was an original lock from my consult.
Maybe u can wrap the broken hair near a Loc closest to it Queen
Yes reattach them
