+Nathan Stevens Cheap Trick's post Lap of Luxury wok is amazing but sadly it suffered the rise of Grunge. Busted, Woke with a Monster and Cheap Trick (1997) are bad ass. Those albums passed the test of time though.
Me and my wife always loved this team in the NFL letting y'all know we are Christian and we are letting y'all know this is going on letting letting y'all this is going okay letting y'all know okay goodnight
WORT in Madison just played it so I came here for another listen. Always great to see the original lineup! Nothing against Jon or Daxx but this is Cheap Trick!
The miles of driving down the road in either my personal vehicle or eighteen wheeler was a lot more tolerable listening to Cheap Trick over the yrs and I know there is a lot of other drivers that feel the same way , they haven’t been given the credit they deserve over all the hit songs that just came natural to Robin singing and Rick just way laying on the strings as well as the rest of the band .
One of the best albums of the time, Jesus Christ Rings true still today that's why this type of music is timeless. Great message and music, love it, forever changed my life when i heard this, became a cheap trick fan more than i am, albums great
Just ran across this quote from Robin Zander and if half of this country was to read it I think they would have a lot to lose . Maybe the Republican party are among those who hear the hooks, not the horror that lurks inside the very best Cheap Trick songs. “The Republican National Committee called our office and offered us $100,000 to play at their convention in Cleveland [this summer],” Zander says. “We turned it down. Then we had second thoughts. Maybe we should have accepted it - but we would all have got swastika guitars made.”
Don't listen to the radio stuff.. their best material, is the stuff their label didn't put out as singles. Go listen to Southern Girls, Downed, Just Got Back, Oh Candy, He's A Whore, How Are You, Big Eyes, Clock Strikes Ten (live version) Mandocello, live with Billy Corgan, Next Position Please, Invaders of the heart, Boarderline, Way Of the World, Dream Police, Auf Weidershen, Stiff Completion, On Top of the World, High Roller.... With Cheap Trick, their label at the time Epic, didn't know what to do with them. Most people base their opinion of this band, off of what the radio plays. There is a reason, why so many bands, site them as an influence and why John Lennon wanted to work with them.
Oh Candy was a single. It bombed. But it was a single. Southern Girls, same. And Dream Police? Not only was a single, but was a Top 40 hit. With the maybe exception of "The Doctor" LP, I can't say Epic ever put out the wrong singles. They knew "The Flame" was a hit when Cheap Trick themselves didn't. If it were up to the band, this would have been the lead single off "Lap of Luxury" -- and they would have had another flop.
These guys are the best, they never lost it, they never sold out, never did a bad track or record, just kept rockin'
Dancin' The Night Away was dumb....

Me and my wife always loved this team in the NFL letting y'all know we are Christian and we are letting y'all know this is going on letting letting y'all this is going okay letting y'all know okay goodnight
This song is completely underrated.
I actually love this track. Should have been released straight after The Flame, and therefore may have been a hit.
1 of the best "comeback" albums of rock history
Robin will ALWAYS be Mister Class🤗🤗🤗
WORT in Madison just played it so I came here for another listen. Always great to see the original lineup! Nothing against Jon or Daxx but this is Cheap Trick!
Spot on, they are the f#(k!ng rock band imo.
Perfect release as single, perfect follow-up to "Ghost Town". A shame it should have been a bigger hit. Great rockin' tune!
A great track. Robin Zander was well 🔥 back then! He was so photogenic and absolutely gorgeous. Mega talented too of course!
I agree, sexiest frontman I've ever seen and that voice just takes you to heaven like everything else about him!

I can say that this is the first song I learned to play the guitar solo. It's just the open E string. Love your playing Rick!
hahaha that's funny you probably also like me can play the guitar solo and Neil Young Cinnamon Girl
Saw them in a small club back in '94. Absolutely fantabulous!
Hardest working band ever.

Cheap Trick F**KING Rocks..
Wonderful 1988 classic!
This reminds me of when I used to see them at the Red Carpet in Detroit circa 1975. It was crazy like this then, too.
Love the lyrics to this song It feels like A photograph of my life
Such a good music! Reminds me 30 years ago. So cool.
In 1989 I was just glad to hear a song that wasn't another freakin' power ballad! They were killing me.
Perfect
Happy birthday to bun e carlos to him
My HOMETOWN heros !
Love this song, the lyrics Robin sings “I’ve got all the riches that one man can claim” tastefully ripped off from the 60’s Temptations hit MY GIRL 😉

They declined it because they're too afraid of the backlash from democratic fans. Had nothing to do with their personal feelings.

After watching all their greatest hits videos... yeah they were a one-hit wonder I feel. None of these did I like as much as Surrender.
Did you listen to The Flame, I Want You to Want Me, or Dream Police? There are others... not a one hit wonder by any definition

The only really good song on this album.
