I've been a paint and body hobby guy since around 1984. I remember the first time someone showed me how to shrink metal with a torch and a wet rag, I was blown away. It can work miracles especially if a panel has been worked a lot with the hammer and dolly. I'v actually corrected door gaps by heating a large area (football size) and shrinking with a wet rag, the whole thing at once. The shrinking metal will actually pull the door edge back. Good stuff!
Just found your channel, some great tips. I’ve just started spraying again after a 25 year lay off only as a hobby though, now have to binge watch your videos to find the modern day techniques. On the big dents I always used an inflatable ball put it inside the door, this brought the dents up quick and tap down the crowns while inflated. New subscriber from the UK.
Thank's brother, welcome to the channel! There's alot of creative ways to remove those dents . Inflatable ball sounds interesting never tried that. Enjoy the video's hope they prove helpful. Thank's for watching and commenting.
@@GarageNoise Consistency in putting out content and good audio for the vocals are key to getting views and subs. I like your format, it's very easy to watch, your way of communicating is excellent. You'll get there. I know it takes time and effort.
Why do you hit the shrinking slapper rather then hit panel with it, does it make it shrink less. Also how does this compare to using a shrinking hammer and dolly on other side
I was using the slapper like a spoon . I just didn't have my spoon handy. All I was doing was knocking down a crown. I hit it with the hammer instead of slapping the panel because I could hold the slapper flat against the crow and get better results. Thank's for the comment and support.
Never thought of using heat to shrink metal, liked the technique

Learning something on every video...Love the content..., And BTW Congrats on almost hitting 10k subs! This channel should be WAY above 10k...
Thank's brother, 10k is big for me. I got my eye on a silver play button tho..
@@GarageNoise 100k, you got this sir! Let’s go. I keep sharing your videos to help bring in more quality viewers.

Good instructional video. 👏
Always learning something new thank you…
Appreciate it!
Excellent work. Why would you not shrink with spot welder ?
No reason, you can use the g90e to shrink metal and it's works. Thank's for watching brother appreciate the support!
Can you use rattle can primer to protect bare metal? I heard if you dont get it all off, 2K primer will react bad with it?
use self etching primer to protect bare metal. you can get it in a rattle can.
@@GarageNoise Awesome, that's what I have. It won't react bad or bubble when you go to spray 2K?
no , sand before 2k
Thanks, for posting. I have the same spot puller, what brand of magnetic ground are you using?
Disregard, I found it in your amazon list. Thanks
Nice work
Thanks
Why do you hit the shrinking slapper rather then hit panel with it, does it make it shrink less. Also how does this compare to using a shrinking hammer and dolly on other side
Also does using a regular slapper do the opposite and stretch the area
One other question is it called a shrinking slapper or a slapper file

I wouldn't say it stretches the metal or does the opposite. It spreads out the impactto knock down a larger area without creating a dent.
@@GarageNoise ok thanks for the reply
