As always, thank you for this video. I will def give it a try and whatever the results, I really appreciate your generosity for taking the time to share information that benefit to the flight sim community. Cheers :)
Thanks for this video Q8Pilot, its very appreciated and informative. You talked little bit about your CPU but not of your GPU and how your overclock them. Regards
Thanks for this guide! I just took all your settings :-) Just to clarify: 1) Will Soft Clouds got dynamic textures, because ASCA will do this? 2) You told, you are using lower clouds from Envtex? But where are you actually installing this? 3) Because ASCA is only for dynamic texture, you only choose Sky, and don't have to do anything with the Cloud Themes? Thanks a lot for the video again, it's awesome!
Yet another great and thought provoking video! You mentioned the importance of the order in which you launch the apps. Is the order you covered each add-on settings the order in which you launch each app? Thanks for all your hard work!
Great video and walkthrough! I have used your settings and addons and for the first time in v3 I am happy with the visual quality and can actually use SGSS in cloud without it becoming a slide show. On a 1440p monitor so have a little more tweaking to do to get it super smooth but thanks for this. PS are you using REX Texture Direct for anything other than High-Level clouds? Can you share those settings and when you install them?
nice video! will try a couple of your suggestions. Does setting the "image quality" in ASCA even affect anything since you unchecked everything under "enabled content" except for sky colors? At 16:10 in the vid.
Thanks buddy, the clouds will still be that of ASCA, but the soft clouds will come from REX Soft Clouds. So yes the image quality will take effect int his case.
great tutorial thanks question thou i dont have asca would i just enter envtex install only ticked? and i am also using your same settings dynamic cont sky theme and sun set to soft 4 and installed thou upon reloading the program the sun resets to set 1 is that normal? thanks
are you using a 1080p monitor with this settings? these didn't work well at all on my 1440p monitor, your settings and visuals look amazing though, i love it.
I have a simple question for p3D. Im helping a client. There is a blue trail behind everything that moves in the sim. As if it makes a trail line as any vehicle goes forward. How do I turn this off?
nice. thou do you not get a performance drop in dense overcast clouds using 4xsgss ? i do using same settings with fps drop using titans sc in sli as16 6255 getting a 4k soon tho
I just followed your setting and i got OOM approaching KLAX from KSFO .. Do you have a tip for OOM? I have ORBX scenery and region, Global,Vector,OpenLc etc.. what do you think about maxed out slide settings made OOM
Not quite, VAS is virtual address space. FSX and P3D are 32bit applications and hence a maximum of 4GB of VAS is allocated to the application. It simply can't use more being 32bit.
Thanks allot for this mate, my new settings just for P3D alone look 10 times better. Was thinking about Rex World Wide Airports HD but have seen mixed reviews about it. Do you really think it looks good in your opinion? Thanks again.
Thanks buddy, yes, I use the same settings. However, for the PMDG series, I am very careful where I fly from and to. I always make sure either the departure or destination airports are default, otherwise OOMs =)
One more thing I don't understand. You said you are using ASCA upper clouds and REX Soft Clouds for everything else. Then you show your asca settings and you don't have clouds checked at all.
I use Rex Soft Clouds for Cumulus clouds only. It is probably my bad, perhaps I unchecked something while testing. I do have cloud textures check along with sky colors. For Cirrus clouds, I use that of Rex Texture Direct.
Most payware airports will have an option to have some moving jetways, all moving, or non moving. This is mainly to help performance. When you have AI traffic enabled, too many moving jetways can decrease performance. You should be able to find this settings in the airport control panel depending on which payware airport you have.
Q8Pilot that's annoying, I have aerosoft Innsbruck, and that doesn't have jetways at all, do you know if there is an add on for stairs that you can board from instead, (without gsx)
Hey I have an i7-6700k @ 4.6ghz with a GTX1080 and 32gb of ram and I can't even do a simple flight in the FSLabs without OOMing, I'am running Nvidia Inspector and I just dont understand why my VAS is so dam high :(
The latest nvidia drivers have VAS leak issue. the FSLabs is VAS hungry hence the problems you are and many others like you are having. I am also one of them =)
oh that explains my issue aswell just to confirm 382.05 did lower vas on aerosoft airbus and PMDG aircraft :) i dont have the Fslabs but i kept ooming at LOWI :(
Addons are listed in the description section of the video. The PC specs I mention in the video and they are also available in the About section of the channel. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the cool video. I like P3D, but so many tweaks to make it run right. OOM's etc. Looking for a SIM where I can fly an entire trip without it crashing... And use VR too...
Compared to P3D, FXSE, and XP 10, Very impressed. Love the VR with Oculus Rift too. But the graphics, game play, is awesome. I play it a lot, and each time it gets better. Lots of cool features in setting up a flight, etc.
Thanks for the effort however these settings will not get you in the air at EGLL with ORBX Global, Vector, LC-Europe and ORBX England along with Ezdok, FSP, GSX and PMDG. I can guarantee that no matter what system you have you will be hitting 3800-3900 VAS banging down runway 26 for takeoff and just after you will get OOM, there is absolutely no doubt. Level of detail radius at maximum is NOT a recommended setting for any user, this basically sets the LOD to 7.50 which will kill your VAS instantly. These settings are great if you flying a small light default aircraft from a small airport with default textures.
Those settings are fine for A2A aircraft with ORBX scenery, but must make sure to fly into areas that are not very dense. Done many successful flights in the past with same settings.
Your settings are great for low density areas and airports, there is no way your settings could be applied to my configuration. After extensive VAS utilisation research and some two years of analyzing an array of data with multiple variations of addons I can safely determine your LOD setting alone is utilising a PMDG aircraft x 1,5. ORBX Global isn't the VAS killer, Vector is the champion here. Without Vector and LOD set at 4,5 and no road traffic you can fly pretty much anywhere, anytime for days on end. No matter what machine you have P3D PP v 3.4 (1200) plus Vector (550) plus PMDG (700) plus LOD 7.5 (1300) with default everything else equals 3700 VAS, obviously LOD VAS will vary depending on location.
can you share the nvidia inspector config file? export/ save file to dropbox or similar filee cloud service. then we just download.. and import it.. pack whit rar or zip include read me like you have 144hz monitor. I have 60hz but can be OC to 100hz
Mark J Finally a video for us who has a high end pc. Normaly these videos are all about how to get better fps If you have low to mid range ps's! So its much awaited:)👍
You made my sim go from notthing to the best i have ever seen, you are awesome, thanks a lot sir!
As always, thank you for this video. I will def give it a try and whatever the results, I really appreciate your generosity for taking the time to share information that benefit to the flight sim community. Cheers :)
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch the video =)
Great video, i'm sure this will help a lot of people out :)
Aus Flight Simmer Thanks mate =)
Just the video i need being fairly new to P3D :) Great work Osamah
Thanks a lot Lee, very much appreciated. Please feel free to email me anytime if you need any help with P3D =)
Thanks will do
Thanks so much for this video, and great work as always sir!
Thank you for watching sir =)
Thank you very much for this. I appreciate information like this.
Most welcome sir!
Thanks for this video Q8Pilot, its very appreciated and informative. You talked little bit about your CPU but not of your GPU and how your overclock them. Regards
thumps up.
Your Really helped me with performance specially the 1/4 refresh rate . I have no more flickering . :)
mazenalqahtani glad this helped you =)
Thank you veray much!I have finally solved the blury problem.Thank you!
Thanks for this guide! I just took all your settings :-) Just to clarify: 1) Will Soft Clouds got dynamic textures, because ASCA will do this? 2) You told, you are using lower clouds from Envtex? Great video man!!
Thanks buddy!
Really nice video and explanation. I did suscribe to your channel. Greeting from Venezuela, my friend..!!
Thank you for watching Tomas =)
Yet another great and thought provoking video! You mentioned the importance of the order in which you launch the apps. Is the order you covered each add-on settings the order in which you launch each app? Thanks for all your hard work!
Thanks for watching! Yes follow that order so that you do not overwrite the cloud textures in the final step.
With the video card you have VRAM is not an issue with worldwide HD airports(in terms of used). Even a 4GB card would not have an issue.
Great video and walkthrough! I have used your settings and addons and for the first time in v3 I am happy with the visual quality and can actually use SGSS in cloud without it becoming a slide show. On a 1440p monitor so have a little more tweaking to do to get it super smooth but thanks for this.

is that normal?
thanks
Good video! BTW you have mistake in description, it is not ENTEX but ENVTEX
Thanks buddy, I just corrected that =)
I don't think 1/2 or 4x refresh rate works, as p3d doesn't have true full screen capabilities. Other than that a huge thumbs up
I Cannot Thank you enough man this helped so much
I am glad this has helped. Thanks for watching!
Hey Buddy! Nice Video :D
Thank you my friend =)
are you using a 1080p monitor with this settings? these didn't work well at all on my 1440p monitor, your settings and visuals look amazing though, i love it.
Hey Brett, yes I am using a 1080p monitor.
I have a simple question for p3D. Im helping a client. There is a blue trail behind everything that moves in the sim. As if it makes a trail line as any vehicle goes forward. How do I turn this off?

thou do you not get a performance drop in dense overcast clouds using 4xsgss ? i do using same settings with fps drop using titans sc in sli as16 6255
getting a 4k soon tho
I do get an FPS drop, but not much unless of course VATSIM stations are ticked.
Q8Pilot interesting
perhaps it may be the cloud layers i notice you use 3 layers instead of 5 as i have 5 i will try 3 see how that pans out
cool desktop background @ 11:38, whered you get it?
Nice video! Do you have any VAS issues with the latest Nvidia drivers with these settings or which driver do you use?
I do have VAS issues with the latest nvidia drivers. One thing that could help is move the water quality to medium. That will save like 200MB.
Q8Pilot Okay, thanks!
I just followed your setting and i got OOM approaching KLAX from KSFO .. Do you have a tip for OOM? I have ORBX scenery and region, Global,Vector,OpenLc etc.. what do you think about maxed out slide settings made OOM
Hey there KIM. Which aircraft were you flying?
Just a question about VAS : VAS is linked with your graphic card ?
Not quite, VAS is virtual address space. FSX and P3D are 32bit applications and hence a maximum of 4GB of VAS is allocated to the application. It simply can't use more being 32bit.
Perfect ! thank you
Tarek Tarek Most welcome glad you enjoyed it =)
Q8Pilot Thank you it is a pleasure, with you I learn the simulation and english at the same time :)
Great! I can see you have Cirrus un-ticked both in ASCA and Envtex. I thought Soft Clouds just had Cumulus? Where is your cirrus..? :-)
It is coming from Rex Texture Direct =)
Thanks! Any thoughts on use Asca or Envtex for cirrus (and Sky)?
pinello007 did you try out ASCA or Envtex vs default for Cirrus?
@Q8Pilot can you share the RTD cloud set and settings you are using for Cirrus?
Thanks allot for this mate, my new settings just for P3D alone look 10 times better. Was thinking about Rex World Wide Airports HD but have seen mixed reviews about it. Do you really think it looks good in your opinion? Thanks again.
Most welcome, It is better than the default for sure, and looks a lot better in smaller airports.
Q8Pilot , ok mate I will invest in it. Cheers again.
Great work sir. thnksssss a lot :)
ilyes maamri Most welcome my friend, glad you enjoyed it.
Nice man :D
Thanks =)
Complete setting guide: step one, buy the most expensive hardware, step 2, crank all dem sliders to the right. Done. ;-)
Great video! :) Do you use pta ?
Thanks buddy, sorry what is PTA?
PTA is a very good program that give let you make some tweak for p3d and it can improve the visual experience. You should try it : 1coder.ru/PTA/
are you a kiwi? i live in whangarei so i love the new nzwr by orbx
Great video! :) One question though. Do you use the same P3D settings for NGX or 777, as you do for the GA aircrafts?
Oh, so you ment Rex TD cirrus, not asca clouds.
Johnny Wing Yes correct =)
Would you know why Most Addon Airports dont have moving Jetways? is it because i have some kind of setting off?
Most payware airports will have an option to have some moving jetways, all moving, or non moving. This is mainly to help performance. When you have AI traffic enabled, too many moving jetways can decrease performance. You should be able to find this settings in the airport control panel depending on which payware airport you have.
Say I wanted it for Adelaide International X or St Maarten, i dont think i see a setting in the FlyTampa Config
You are correct, the older airports probably don't have that option, but newer ones do. Some airports do not have moving jetways at all =)
Q8Pilot that's annoying, I have aerosoft Innsbruck, and that doesn't have jetways at all, do you know if there is an add on for stairs that you can board from instead, (without gsx)
Not that I know of no. Sorry =)
Q8Pilot, where would you suggest to buy a pc laptop with about the parameters of your computer?
I would recommend that you build your own. Brand names are expensive for less performance. Certainly build a gaming PC.
Yeah, but I do not know how to assemble a pc.
Ciderfer Gaming Many shops can offer to build it for you for a small fee.
Ok, thanks for your help

Great video, didn't see any config tweak, does that mean you don't use any?
angeli662 There is no need for it in P3D.
Could you do this for xPlane in Feb. when it will comes out? Thanks
For sure, just like the 10.50 and 10.36, I will do one for XP11 =)
tks! good job
Thanks for watching!
Are the scenery houses an addon?
Also does the FTX Global Trees need to come with FTX Global Scenery? Or can I just buy Trees with needing the FTX Global Scenery?
has anybody experienced a drop in fps when moving your mouse?
Informative....computer systems dictate P3D settings. You didn't list your specs in the addons used.
Addons are listed in the description section of the video. The PC specs I mention in the video and they are also available in the About section of the channel. Thanks for watching!
you misunderstand me never mind.
The only way to get a stutterfree and smooth P3D is to lock inside to 25 FPS and with this you can go up with the other settings..
CptSpaulding90 depends on the machine. tried this before and doesn't work for me.
Thanks for the cool video. I like P3D, but so many tweaks to make it run right. OOM's etc. Looking for a SIM where I can fly an entire trip without it crashing... And use VR too...
Thanks for watching the video. I think you might enjoy x-plane then =)
Yup, waiting for XP 11. Also Aerofly FS 2 is visually stunning in VR... Thx!!!
hey Farmhand, have you tried Aerofly FS 2? What are your thoughts?
Compared to P3D, FXSE, and XP 10, Very impressed. Love the VR with Oculus Rift too. But the graphics, game play, is awesome. I play it a lot, and each time it gets better. Lots of cool features in setting up a flight, etc.
Farmhand2k It's not global right? It's only a certain area of the Western United States? Also, is there autogen or is it all photoscenery? Thanks!

Hey Where To Get The Nvidia Inspector?
You don't need it for P3Dv4 but you can search for nvidia inspector on google and it will show you where you can download it.
Will you be updating this for v4?
Yes, I will be showing a few more test videos and I will share my settings with explanation as well.
Does this apply for integrated graphics?
Not sure I understand the question.
@@Q8Pilot I mean, do you need a graphics card to do what you show in the video or are igpu's ok?
@@TRR23123 graphics card is required and you need a really good one.
@@Q8Pilot Aw, i ask because i still have an iGPU because im still saving for a 3060.
Is it a Titan x Pascal?
No it is the Maxwell.

that looks like a $1000 worth of add-on ...lol
It has cost me an arm and a leg to get it looking the way it does =)
