I know they are great saddles but I called a couple bike shops in my local area and they said that they stopped doing the fitting system because it was very Inaccurate. But they still sell them and say they are great saddles. You just have to try each one yourself.
I am NOT a performance cyclist. I just like to bikepack longer distances and I sit pretty upright. I'm just a cruiser. So does that mean I don't need as much of a cutout? My seat I have now is 185mm wide and I know it's too wide. It doesn't have much of a cutout. Just a rookie here all confused.
I have the Italia SLR titanium rails. Superb saddle for comfort and taking pressure off that sensitive area 👍..... Er GCN still wouldn't mind winning an extra saddle though
i could really use a new saddle. Picked up one at the bike shop on clearance for $19.99. Better than a flat saddle, but could really use a nice cutout one like these...
The only Selle Italia saddle I like is the Turbomatic 2... They made a reissue version a few years ago, and they weren't half as comfortable as the original... It's no wonder NOS ones sell on ebay for a fortune....
honestly, i tried a pletora of saddles and strangely the least expensive are the best for me. i have a fabric flat and a SMP comfort. both great to me. the fabric for wet days and the SMP for hot days. i still prefer the SMP but the fabric is lighter and more in adequation with the look of my bike. but hey! only the bum is king to make the right choice. XD
I want to buy a new comfortable bike to ride in city and sometimes long rides.$ 500 range pls advice what points to note and which gear set to go with .i am new to your amazing channel
You won't have a wide selection of what drivetrain to get. Go with something like a Trek Verve. Can get one for around $500 and you know it isn't gonna break down on you. Lifetime warranty. I do work for Trek to be completely honest, but I don't get anything out of you buying one lol. We just make great bikes.
Yes please 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🥵🥵❤️ wonderful GCN (ladies wide pelvis) I’m doing the epic Norfolk 200 in June and that’s the one they that concerns me, saddle soreness 🥰😉😳😳
Stamattina stavo cercando qualche sella per sostituire quella uscita di serie sulla mia bici. Ed ora mi capità questo video. Beh anche se non vinco almeno ho avuto una buona spiegazione su questi modelli di selle smp.
Selle Italia needs to bring back the SLC. No connection at the back which allows for each side to move independently from being connected at the rear of the saddle.
Saddle manufacturers need to get away from the “mens or womens” marketing, and just make different widths and shapes. Some men fit best on saddles that are presently marketed to women, and some women fit better on “mens” saddles. It’s all marketing hype. After performing hundreds of fits, the most popular width road or mtb saddle widths I’ve seen people fit is 155mm. Selle Italia doesn’t even make one. They are so behind on development it’s ridiculous. I feel sorry for the guys and gals who are paid to ride and race those saddles when they don’t make the right size to stabilize their pelvis. Don’t they suffer enough already?
I recently got the Prime Primavera Carbon and my GOD this thing is hard as a rock. No give anywhere. Despite being a padded saddle. (But it is light at 132gr and cheap at 110€)
#Askgcnanything Is there a standard amongst different brands when it comes to the dimensions of saddles. IE the scale on the rails is that transferrable from brand to brand,. Or am I expecting way too much. :-)
Si would have been much more qualified to do this video. The tales have it that he has vast and intimate knowledge about said anatomies, and should have much better been able to shed light in this area.
I understand that we need rules, but the fact that UCI cares if you place your saddle 5cm behind or past your bottom bracket is really getting ridiculous!!
Again lot of false marketing talk from Selle Italia. It's not lightest, not even close. Berk is already well know brand and their shor-nose 140mm wide padded cutout Dila saddle weight 90g.
Those companies have to start thinking out of the box. Not every cyclist is European meaning that depend on genetics not everyone is thin. I really hate Specialized but has to gave it to them when releasing the Power Saddle. And before that I used SMP, ISM, Italia and Marco.
I beg to differ with that statement of being the lightest short nose saddle to humanity .... Gelu carbon creations make the lightest saddles on the market with their K3 model coming in at a whopping 38 grams @ 242mm long and 122mm wide. Thats Selle Italia falsely advertising !!!!
You know what's sad? When I saw first frame with Ollie I just thought how fast I will hear "awesome". Technically I was wrong, it was "amazing", but I am pretty sure there are other words in English vocabulary like "interesting", "unusual". If you don't learn them fast in a year you will have to sprinkle video with gold to make your point -- labelling every single cable or nut as awesome, amazing or brilliant is growing tiresome (and fruitless).
Oh, guys, please let me put one of these babies onto my Canyon Ultimate CF SLX so i can try to be like Senor Valverde and find a win at my Gold Coast Masters Crit events down here in sunny Queensland Australia this season. My only win came when they decided it was a non event because another grade had a crash on the line after we started our final lap and its hard to hear them say slow down at 56kph due to the Doppler effect, which was too late once i had crossed the line. Not to mention the effect this saddle could do for our Sunday morning post race workout once back in the sheets. Not only would I gladly surrender my non-sheep station winning money (all $20) but the smile on my missus face would be great to see once more!! if you know what I mean!! nudge nudge, wink wink!
Yes please with the Titanium rails to match the Titanium in my left clavicle.
Make sure you enter here gcn.eu/winselleitalia for your chance to win!
Very impressed with the selle Italia range of saddles I recently bought Flite superflow TM just the right amount of padding for a comfortable ride
Yes please I love the Selle italia with the short nose 🤞
C-59 ..... best saddle ever!! I love it 😍
When did Selle Italia add an "R" to the end of "Selle"?.....
Olly: "Seller Italia".
Hahaha. Love you guys!!
Omg , this saddle is 🔥 😍😍
My favorite saddle is the Selle Italia can not wait to try the short nose
Love the red details
Selle italia the best saddle...yes perfect gift
Oh I would love an SLR
I literally only this week fitted a Selle Flite to my summer rig.
Poh, I was already eyeballing this saddle. Great time @gcn! :)
Really nice timing...the 2nd hand bike I bought at the end of last year came with an old and far from confortable saddle. A guy can only hope!!
What is the practical difference between titanium and manganese rails?
I know they are great saddles but I called a couple bike shops in my local area and they said that they stopped doing the fitting system because it was very Inaccurate. But they still sell them and say they are great saddles. You just have to try each one yourself.

Haha, glad you get on well with it! It's always good to have a spare... or one for the second bike!
Did you go small or large?
@@jackfryer3617 Large, its to do with your seat / sit bones width. Easy enough to measure
Their wide version isn't very wide. Specialized and Fizik wide versions are 10 mm wider.
Hey GCN can you do some saddle reviews like a whole range of them from different manufacturers.
Ollie's presentation makes this seem like an ASMR video.
Listening to GCN like music +1
Every single time I’m looking to get a component GCN does a giveaway!! But I never win 😿
Keep trying!
It's the first time I hear about Seller Italia, are they any good?
i could really use a new saddle. Picked up one at the bike shop on clearance for $19.99. Better than a flat saddle, but could really use a nice cutout one like these...
Nice Timing! Just searched one 2nd hand Superflow Ti
When are these available for purchase? Can't find them online yet.
Thanks CGN ! Would be perfect for my brand new Trek Domane SL 6 disc 👌🏼😃
Good job team
dream saddle!!! drooling!!! 🤤🤤🤤
Is there a big difference between s2 and s3 selle saddle.
The only Selle Italia saddle I like is the Turbomatic 2... They made a reissue version a few years ago, and they weren't half as comfortable as the original... It's no wonder NOS ones sell on ebay for a fortune....
The saddle is sick!! ;)
You should do a Office tour at some point! :)
My saddle is the selle Italia gel flow saddle
What is the TM stand for? On the Selle SLR. Thanks
Is it seller or selle?

Looks like my kind of saddle
it's Selle Italia, not Seller Italia... brits... lol

I meant to say a Trek FX
tire size is 25?
When will this saddle be in the shops
impressive weight for branded saddle 🙂
Short as the Specialized Power?
The wide one please...
Yes please 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🥵🥵❤️ wonderful GCN (ladies wide pelvis) I’m doing the epic Norfolk 200 in June and that’s the one they that concerns me, saddle soreness 🥰😉😳😳

Amazing Saddle ;)
I want the one that Ollie opened , maybe it will smell like porridge
hahaha!
I thought Contador always gravitated towards an unbranded Fizik Antares? 🧐🤔
Thats vincenzo nibali mate
Awesome!
need this🤤

i dont like any cushioning on saddle. l like saddle with hard surface, much better support IMO
look for C-59 😉
@@simonfenkart5428 i've looked, and that thing is crazy expensive😔

Perch or Purch ‘ace’ ..... thought we’d gone all Urban Dictionary on GCN
Nope again they fail on the sizes. I changed to a 155mm wide and I'm never looking back.
Specialized Power Arc in 155mm for me. Very comfy
@@richardggeorge that is the one I have now
#Askgcnanything Is there a standard amongst different brands when it comes to the dimensions of saddles. IE the scale on the rails is that transferrable from brand to brand,. Or am I expecting way too much. :-)
I believe the standard is the rails they keep them for 7×7mm for alloy or 7×9 for carbon
I wish i won one
I could use a new saddle :p
A shame they're not available in white.....
Im about a year late but MANNNNN I'd really love to win one of these hahaha.
Si would have been much more qualified to do this video. The tales have it that he has vast and intimate knowledge about said anatomies, and should have much better been able to shed light in this area.
Ollie's looking like he got a tan! Is his British accent the fake one after all?
He's had a few weeks in the sun!
Selle saddles are always hard as rock and too narrow. Specialized for me.
I was about to write the same thing
It's actual weight is about 108 grams for the padded. I shoud have one arriving next week and will weigh mine.
Those companies have to start thinking out of the box. Not every cyclist is European meaning that depend on genetics not everyone is thin. I really hate Specialized but has to gave it to them when releasing the Power Saddle. And before that I used SMP, ISM, Italia and Marco.
True! A sports saddle with more than 14 cm? Impossible xD because obviously girls with proper hips don't ride bikes

Good luck!
Thank you man! All the love from the Philippines🇵🇭😁
(y) Nice!
Almost a year later and...
in hind sight thats a very flawed design notably its a land fill item made to last a season or less if youre a pro
