Arcane. A name that has become synonymous with the league in which he built his empire, King of the Dot. One of the truest rags to riches stories in the battling world, the 905 representative started from nothing, entering the league as a no-name. After just a single battle, Cane went on to secure a spot in the first 1 vs. 1 Grand Prix held by KOTD, still on nobodies radar. Going on to produce a run that would turn heads across the world, Arcane took down Knamelis, Charron, and eventually Loe Pesci to claim his spot as champion of the tournament and a shot at the then King of the Dot Title holder, The Saurus. After a hotly contested battle, Arcane emerged victorious and brought the KOTD chain back to Canadian soil by defeating The Saurus. After a spree of other battles, the Steel City native went on enter the second 1 vs. 1 Grand Prix two years later, with a large target on his back. Despite every competitor in the tournament gunning for him, Arcane ran through each of his opponents, including names such as 100 Bulletz, Luciano Crakk and Chedda Cheese. Despite the controversy surrounding his championship run, Arcane has proven that he has the stamina, talent and clout to be a threat to any and every battler in the game today. With a style heavily focused on wordplay and clever schemes, Arcane's signature move, if you will, entails utilizing whatever style his opponent is known for to break them down. After reclaiming his status as King of the Dot champion from Dizaster, Arcane will face what is agreed to by many as his biggest battle to date against heavyweight challenger Pat Stay.
Pat Stay. The champion of the Dark Side. The Scotian character assassin is known in battle rap circles as the one of the deadliest emcees to ever step foot in the ring. Hailing from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Pat has a history as storied as any other veteran of the game. First seen on camera in The Element's League, he garnered attention as a hostile, aggressive battler known for not pulling any punches, intimidating not only in size but in skill as well. Having secured a spot among Canada's elite, Pat was then invited to take part in a new, up and coming battle league known as King of the Dot. Initially uninterested, Pat agreed to step in to take on his first KOTD opponent, Bartone. After what is now known as one of his greatest performances, Pat had re-established himself as one of the hottest commodities in the game, and has since rolled through a variety of opponents, gaining untold amounts of infamy and followers along the way. With a resume that includes names such as Arsonal, The Saurus, Math Hoffa, and Head Ice, Pat is a magnet for competition, often being requested by some of the best battlers in the world. Having patented his style of devastating personals mixed with an unerring and punchline packed flow, the East Coast Giant has yet to reach his peak, but improves every time he steps in the ring. Finally taking his long awaited shot at the King of the Dot title, something that his fans have been demanding he do for some time now, Pat Stay will square off against Arcane in what will surely be one of the most heated and entertaining title matches yet.

Pat was kind of the same. Again I didn’t watch a ton of his battles. I always thought he was overrated because I felt like he would use jokes and other tactics to get away from choking or to remember a bar

Anyway about a year ago I was watching back battles of his and realize why he was so good. Diz does the same thing as far as taking time but when you have enough substance you can do it
Rone technically birthed the funny but not too personal movement (maybe you can think of somebody else) but Pat perfected it. Also he legitimately could have messed most people up
So the fact that he used his wits more so than his aggressiveness made him even better in my opinion. Akin to Charron never backing down. You just don’t expect it.
Anyway yeah I felt the same feeling as Pats biggest fans and I don’t know maybe it’s because subconsciously I think he’s a better guy than most battle rappers. I can’t really explain why his hit me differently than hundred of celebrity deaths in the last year but it did.

Someone's gotta say it. Pat Stay was the most dangerous rapper in there when he's prepared. He took on EVERYONE and made it look easy. Comedy, Bars, Stories and Crowd Control. He was the best up there. We'll never have that again but as long as we have his old battles we'll always have something to come back to. Even when he lost the battle he still won in the judges eyes. That "I brought machetes to hack his limbs of" line, was originally intended for Arcanes battle with Diz. Go to that battle, and listen to what Cane says after Diz pushes Canes arm of his shoulder. And Arcane said that Pat used that wolf- flow backwards line two times. In my opinion, that's being a hypocrite when he clearly did that himself. And you can argue that he didn't use that line two times because against Diz he didn't finish that line, but it was intended to, so for me it's the same thing.

In hindsight, looking back with all the drama washed away and re-evaluating this battle, Arcane won this. Just listen to Arcane's actual super technical bars and delivery, regardless of what you think about him he fuckin' won this hands down. I realize at the time with the whole written conspiracy Pat could've just freestyled and they'd have given him the W, but its extremely apparent to me that Cane got robbed here watching this unbiased now. A lot of people would argue that Daylyt is Pat's laziest performance. But in my opinion, this one takes the cake. Arcane undeniably out-wrote Pat in every round here. But Cane was coming off the heels of a "scandal", so it really didn't take much for him to lose. Pat just did what anybody else could have done at this point. And I like Pat, he's probably in my all time top 10, and Cane isn't. But never the less, Pat lost, and he was lazy here.

Arcane was robbed. Straight-up. Pat Stay's win was absolutely pathetic. However, Pat Stay's victory foreshadowed the fact that he became a better battler. He was destroying people in title matches(except for Charron IMO) when he was champion.
Respect to both emcees, but Arcane deserved to retain he gold and the win.

Arcane definitely won this, I've watched it many times. His bars were just far superior, fucking nepotism was only way Pat wins. Same vs Charron, Charron clearly should've won and got robbed in that one, even with them cutting his 3rd he should've won.

Charron got all his material out in his third. The only thing that was "cut out" was Hollohan being on stage, and switching sides. His third wasn't cut , the only thing that wasn't there was the "visual" of Hollohan physically going from one side to the other. I'm not saying Charron should or shouldn't have won, the fact is he himself has since admitted the decision was square, I'm sure you could easily find the shoot interview. But to say they cut his third is a complete fabrication.

I know what ur saying watching it back now arcane actually had some good shit. I remember when it 1st came it every1 knew pat was gonna win as soon as it was announced and when it dropped every1 said it was a body. I mean I'm not saying I think arcane won but I get what u mean. If they did this battle in the quiet room with no crowd and they judges had to watch it from the other room it would be alot closer. That being said that is a part of being the champ is being able to battle on the biggest stages. Its not so much that pat had better bars it's just he had everything him and hollow da don are the most versatile in all of battle rap. People point to this as 1 of his beat performances and watching back I was like meh hes had better bars but the point is his performance he fucking killed that. The funny thing is I think they could switch bars and pat still woulda won. Like this dude said that line was fire but if arcane said the same thing it wouldnt of been cuz he woulda over emphasized it. It's not all about what u say its hoe u say it and pat was just on 1000 with his performance that night. Sometimes shit doesnt translate to the cam like I've been to events that a battle looked way dif when it dropped. This 1 tho even just watching it on screen you could feel the palpable energy just imaging being there if uve never been to an event and seen him live wouldnt understand. Arcane controls a room good and great voice projection when he was battling in a smaller room against like 100 bullet or step easy but this was just a different thing.

Arcane is like arsonal, his success and his fanbase comes from the fact that battle rap fans, like any group, is made up of segments that can be separated by intelligence, and made up of aspiring rappers that can be separated by skill and complexity. Arcane is like ars, a dude who would seem amazing to somebody who's kind of dumb, and whose mediocrity makes him easier to identify with for a lot of people.

Not having really had any great opponents on the way. Being considered a `vet` because he was battling way back in the freestyle days. Knowing all the judges better than most of his opponents did. Coming off as the underdog people root for. Being chosen as the champion for kotd and having huge overwhelming support from fans. Lessee here that's what.........seventeen different explanations? He's entertaining and creative which is why people pay attention, he knows when to keep things loose and when to really make his opponent feel small and inadequate. So love him or hate him, he's a great battler. Plain and simple.

Arcane. One of the best battle rappers in the game and Ive said it since day one. Now wheres he gone ? Probably doesnt want to battle anymore due to the fact that the crowd all turned on him ?
