    For people wondering about frame size on the Voodoo Bizango Pro:
    Height: 5' 10" (178 cm). Reach, as in a boxer's reach, 70" (178 cm). Inside leg 32" (81.3 cm) measured from the spine of a hardback book uncomfortably up against the crotch and feet pedal width apart with no shoes on, to the floor. I'm using the Large frame size and the overall fit and reach is good, but standover clearance is minimal with probably just slightly more than 1" (2.5 cm). While riding, I have not found this to be any problem so far but I ride mostly on relatively smooth trails.

    100% agree with you, I’ve got the 2022 model & its handled everything I’ve thrown at it. Upgrade wise I’ve stuck in some tyre inserts which has give me more confidence to push it harder. I also found the same issue with the cable rubbing but just bought some cable protectors for eBay for £5, problem solved.

    Great video. I was torn between the 2023 carbon and the pro but went for the carbon - absolutely brilliant bike at the price point, especially with a £200 discount.
    The only issue I've had is needing the bottom bracket replaced after a year of heavy use, but it's not exactly the most expensive of upgrades. Definitely recommend it to anybody considering buying one.

    Love this bike but being a bit older than some (56) and not really out to push this to it's limits, I found the handlebars caused me hand ache so fitted my old easton ea70 monkey bars which improved things but have ended up fitting alt bars (On One OG V2's) also replaced the existing stem clamp and the easton clamp with an adjustable one. Fitted a dropper post One Up Components V2 180mm with a Wolf Tooth Light action remote lever (OMG never realised how useful a dropper post is!) This has made the bike so much better for me. Remains to be seen about the handlebars and seat for now, but these are the two things which can really make the biggest difference to each person. The rest of the bike is brilliant. It is really worth checking everything thoroughly when you get this bike from new, I had to adjust the brake callipers (Not set central to disk on the front), gears (Minor adjustment and I mean minor after a month), oh and I replaced the pedals with some HT PA03A Reinforced nylon pedals and I have also fitted some mudhuggers. If I were to recommend 1 upgrade its a dropper post for anyone whom has never used one before.
    These reviews on this channel really made me sure buying this bike was the right decision. Thank you.

    I’ve watched this video about 15 times now. More so the first one you made on the Bizango Pro. I think it’s a no brainer, and add to that the offer Halfords currently have on, I’d be foolish not to go for this. I looked at the Trek Roscoe 6 as well. Not as good, and more cost.

    I bought the same bike a couple of weeks ago (partially based on your videos) as to your last point, although I don't think the cables should rub in the first place and I had the same issue, my bike did actually comes with frame protection stickers in the box so I think it is something they are aware of.
    Might need to splash out for that dropper post though, since I'm 5'7 I went for the small frame and it's still a tad on the big side

    • @bikeandbeyond

    I've found the riding position is very different from my orange bizango . When I first rode the pro I thought the headset was too close to me . The pro does have a steeper head angle
    My orange bizango is a xl 22 inch frame but my pro xl is only a 20 inch . I had to buy a angled headset and riser Handlebars for the pro for it to try and come close to the orange bizango
    It's a nice bike but I like the ride and comfort of my 2020 orange bizango more .

    • @bikeandbeyond

      Yeah I think it definitely has a more aggressive riding position than the old bizango. I quite like that about it. I guess the standard bizango model would be more similar the the old orange bizango, but I hadn’t realised that there was such a difference in the frame sizing.

    I am looking for a return to a MTB, having bought a road bike (Kona Honky Inc.) and instantly regretting it. I am sitting too high off the road and balancing is compromised because of this. time to return to what I know and love.
    This is for a fun commute bike and also for trails when the fancy takes.

    Any hints on which one you would go for?

    • @bikeandbeyond

      Well the good news is that I don’t think you can make the wrong choice between the two bikes. The Trek Marlin 8 is a good bike. For me, I feel like the Bizango Pro has great parts and is a really capable bike for the money. I had the old orange Bizango before I got the Pro and I definitely felt how much better it was than the old model. I haven’t ridden the Marlin 8, but I am pleased with how capable the Pro is. As you may have seen from my channel, I have taken it on some sketchy trails and it has been a reliable bike. If you can, I recommend sitting on both and seeing how they feel.

    • @RichardADastardly
      @RichardADastardly 4 дня назад

      The inner rim width is 24 mm. You can research which width of tyre is optimal for that size, but this is what I have discovered so far:
      Schwalbe's tyre chart says ETRTO 29-622 to 65-622 is compatible with the 24 mm inner rim width. However, just because a tyre is compatible does not mean it will be optimal.
      WTB's chart says up to 2.3in provides optimal tyre profile and performance.
      Maxxis' guide to mountain bike tyres says their 2.5in width tyres require a 33 mm internal rim width.

    • @bikeandbeyond
      @bikeandbeyond  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes that’s right. It’s standard in the bike industry (and in cars and motorbikes etc). It’s common to see 5 or 6 variations of the same model bike. For example there are 8 or so different models of the Canyon Spectral, from aluminium to carbon with a with range of different components at different price points.
      From memory, comparing the standard Bizango to the pro it has upgraded forks, better brakes, bigger and better tyres, and thru axels front and back. Essentially it’s more tailored for trail use than xc. 👍🏻
