Very awesome and helful guide. I just cleaned my Akko keyboard a few hours ago and tbh it’s really starting to be like a battlefield with dust, hairs, even tho i have use it for 3 weeks and have dust-cover. And thankfully my keyboard has white metal plate so it’s easy to spot and remove those hair.
I did everything similar to your guide, although i’m using a mix of water + small amount of hand sanitizer to clean keycaps and it’s works really well, clean and smell great.
And a tweezers is also a handy tool, especially when i don’t have a portable vacuum cleaner. Sometimes the brush can’t brush all the dust or hairs away, so i can use the tweezers to grab them out easily. 👍

I was hoping you would be doing some maintenance vids, and here you are! So recently my power move has been to hose down my PCs every 6 months or so with some contact cleaner. It has been a really effective tool in washing all the grit that gets way into the motherboard and radiators, and you don't need to worry about scrubbing off a resistor or bending any pins. My K6 is still brandy new, but when the time comes, my plan was going to be to pull the keycaps and hose it down while holding it upside down over the sink. Contact cleaner leaves no residue and dries in a minute or so even if you are super heavy handed with it.
Any reason why I would want to avoid using it?

You're not hosing your keys down with acid, it's hand/dishwash soap. By the time gentle cleansers break down the ink on your keyboard, you'll have worn 'em away with use anyhow.
It's important to keep your mechanical keyboard clean - the triggers are very sensitive and any dust or debris is going to double tap your keys like no tomorrow.

@dawniewow yes you can fix it very simply if you have background knowledge on soldering. Basically all you have to do is buy replacement switches for your keyboard that is to say cherry mx reds. Then disassemble your keyboard then desolder the switches that the WASD keycaps are, then put in the new ones then solder.
