In japan kids go to the park by themselves and even do small errands like picking up stuff from the local store. The crime rate is very low in Japan and they do not have a helicopter parent society like we do in the US. Crime is much higher in the US so it makes a little more sense to give your kids less freedom but i personally think the US over does it a little.

You probably got it at this point but Midoryia and Bakugo are last names Izuku and Katsuki are First names. I'm not sure but sometimes in anime the surname comes first. I think it's an Asian thing the same thing happens in Mulan
