It's also parallel to Rayleigh's title as Dark King and being the firstmate of the late Pirate King.

The Zoro slash at the end of this episode is a tribute to the original Zorro hero character that wielded a swashbuckler and fought Mexican warlords and their henchmen in which Oda had based his swordsmen character off on.

11:50 if u slow down on this part, u could see that the quick-second flash showed King as a kid, as a teen, him on his uniform when Wano started then him on his Animal form before throwing the slash attack he did. Toei be doing these quick-second flashes lately and I just love it

@takusamsara3375 Well, I'm more talking about the nature of their relationship. How they both would do anything for their captain. They both have an undying faith that their Captain is the one who will be pirate king. Both Zoro and King were involved in some kind of run in with the Government before their Captain "saved" them and gave them a new purpose. I'm not quite sure how Kaido and Queen's relationship was like but King definitely had a deeper brotherly bond with Kaido which is similar to what Zoro and Luffy have.
@@takusamsara3375 I mean we got Zoro being saved from imprisonment and bring recruited by Luffy in a flashback and one with Kaido recruiting King by saving him too(parallel) you get Zoro promising to never lose and King doing the same (parallel).

@@saberalter4076 In Hindu/Buddhist tradition, Karna is half-brother of Yama with different mothers and son of lord Surya/Sun god. Yama in Japanese is known as Enma. Yama is God of justice and king of Naraka/hell.
A funny looking Yama is also in Dragon Ball series...
King is in so many ways Zoro's mirror, held by the government, rescued by a man who gives him a new purpose, swears not to be defeated and make his captain king of the pirates.
The difference is Zoro's dream is advanced with helping Luffy's dream, while King gave up his dream for a liberated world led by a legend - "joyboy," to follow Kaido. In a way, I feel like King betrayed himself by helping Kaido become a tyrant - and perhaps that is part of the reason why he lost.
Yup hit the nail on the head. Zoro is in the pursuit of something greater. King just wanted to see kaido on top.

- Love that at the “To be Continued” Zoro slashed it similarly to the mark of Zorro making this his mark as the King of Hell which speaking of he uses 2 techniques of his King of Hell 3 Sword Style (a combination of Armament & Conquerors Haki) that being Rengoku Oni Giri (means “Purgatory Ogre Cutter” & a pun on onigiri aka rice balls) & along with Foxfire Style he uses En-Ō Santōryū: Ippyakusanjo Hiryu Jigoku (means "King of Hell Three Sword Dragon: 103 Emotions Flying Dragon Samurai Extreme") which is a reference to a drawing called Ippyakusanjō Imojigoku ("103 Measures of Potatoes Hell") by Santō Kyōden while the Jigoku is a pun on “hell” but the kanji he uses it means “samurai extreme” which both relates to his sword Enma named after the king of hell

- Karyudon means “Fire Dragon Emperor” but it maybe also a pun on curry udon which is “kare udon”, & in English its Imperial Flaming Wings which might also have a food pun on Chicken wings
- Omori Karyudon means “Assisting Dragon Fire Dragon Emperor” where Omori maybe a pun on “large serving”, & in English its Extra large Imerial Flaming Wings

I love how Zoro started practicing cutting fire back in Skypeia and immediately took an interest in Kinemon when he saw he could do it. All that training paid off in this episode even more than the time he showed off the skill against Kaido.
I love the parallel between Zoro and King's origin for joining their respective crews. Both imprisoned by Navy/World Gov, both freed by their captain and both swore to help them become pirate king. The key difference being how King's ONLY desire is to make Kaido pirate king, while Zoro has his own dream that he wants to accomplish just as much as Luffy.
I knew all the female streamers would freak out when they saw how good looking King is 😅

When Queen got his defeat I cheered, with King, I sort of felt bad since his loyalty to Kaido was sincere and he did everything right by his captain. Of all of Kaido's crew King is the only one who would never betray him. He is also likely the last of his race. Great episode though, I am glad they showed the same love to both Sanji and Zoro.
