    Very nice video and explanation. To the point and showing the rationale/ math behind. I was already using the reduce magicka cost glyphs, from your necro video and… I actually need to try really hard to run out of magicka. Adding the fact that I am a red guard, sustain is a non-issue. Great stuff mate 👍

    I was waiting for this guide :) I already switched to Jewels of Misrule and cost reduction glyphs a few months ago following your builds and dungeon guides but it's nice to have a detailed explanation with the maths.
    For my GH as execute tank, I used 1 or 2 harmony jewels and I wasn't convinced about the trait utility and it seems it's more about sustaining and choosing the right food to reduce the HP pool than depending on the buffed synergy with harmony trait.
    Thanks a lot for this guide and I hope to see more videos from you!

    So from a math prospective, an imperial with 6% cost reduction for all skill, it reduces the flat value of all skills. With cost reduction glyph, it’s still a better choice than recovery? Also, I appreciate your service to the community. Big fan

    • @Hyperioxes
      @Hyperioxes  2 года назад +7

      So at the end of the comparison, cost reduction vs recovery was at | 130.5 vs 126 |
      If we add Imperial cost reduction the comparison changes to | 122.36 vs 126 | with recovery slightly winning this time
      But the difference is very small and cost reduction enchants allow you to get away with less maximum resources letting you run Orzorga's (or Jewels of Misrule) food which grants you 369 of both mag and stam recovery so cost reduction still ends up giving you better sustain. And that was very DK-oriented comparison, because for example Warden and Necromancer can use straight up magicka cost reduction enchants (cuz most of the time the only stamina ability they have is Pierce Armor, sometimes also Vigor for PA) and then cost reduction wins by even bigger margin

    • @arudiga
      @arudiga 2 года назад

      @@Hyperioxes so technically, an imperial DK could in essence run triune mag recovery or infused mag recovery with sugar skulls and be about even with other race/class setups using infused cost reduction? It may be important I DO use tri focus passive.

    • @Hyperioxes

    • @Hyperioxes

      I dont think that's something I could explain in a video since it depends on the trial/dungeon. There is no universal rule for when you can safely cast Stone Giant, you just gotta have experience in a certain trial/dungeon to know when bigger damage is incoming

    I've watched your tank guides and I've noticed you only have tri-cost reduction for trash and for dk (cuz of stone giant). Otherwise I guess it makes sense to just go full mag cost reduction.
    I play on console and usually tank 4 man fun runs and trifectas but still want to be efficient so I guess mag reduction should work then. And for trials too tbh, especially if someone else is doing stone giant.

I've been explaining the rationing behind using infused reduced cost and orzagas for years now and still get told I'm wrong by 99% of the people I talk to. That being said I do run sugar skulls to save money alot of the time in most content unless it's super sweaty.

    wow thanks for this quite informative video... i main stam dk dps, but i also play other classes with my alts... lately i've been playing my tank dk with just gathering skyshards and leveling up skills i might use....
    i've been using tank club as my tank guide for building my tank.. i recall him recommending mag recovery over reduce enchants, and i almost went with it.. but my instincts told me that reduce cost seems to be the better option in the long run... thanks to this video guide, it soiidifies my assumptions and now set on using cost reduction enchants...
    for specifically a nord tank dk, would you recommend a mag reduction enchant over a tri-stat reduction cost?? the difference is nearly ~400, but on a dk, alot of utility and healing skills you will be using are magicka based.. and that ~400 magicka cost could lessen that impact on your magicka sustain... on the other hand, most stamina based abilities you will likely use are: vigor, pierce armor, heroic slash, razor caltrops.. maybe noxious breath, venom claw, unstoppable brute, immovable, race against time, or circle of protection as well...
    also magma shell vs spell wall vs shield discipline, which is the best option for your "oh sh!t" moment ability that would prevent a team wipe??

    • @Hyperioxes
      @Hyperioxes  2 года назад

      I'm using tri-cost because I'm using Stone Giant, if you take that out and dont use any other Stamina abilities then mag cost could be better. Magma Shell is the best "oh shit" ult

    Nice video. You talked about harmony in Cloudrest but i saw logs from very good tanks using it on falgravn. Could you maybe explain why ?

    • @Hyperioxes
      @Hyperioxes  2 года назад +2

      I can't, that's a question you should ask those tanks. I can only say that I used triple Infused with 2x tri-cost reduction enchant and 1x stamina cost reduction enchant against Falgravn as a Dragonknight in my recent vKA world record. Harmony isn't that far off from Infused and it's main disadvantage is just that the sustain comes in a massive burst

    Im new to tanking so could someone explain why cost reduction is better than mag recovery? Is see his explanation but he has it under the assumption he is casting every second. But Ive seen his builds and gameplay but only uses 4/5 magicka skills most the time and you only need to recast to keep uptime on buffs so besides prebuffing youre not casting every second, even every 2 seconds makes them worse than mag recovery and most the time youre not casting for a few seconds making them significantly worse right?

    One question about the Bear Haunch. I think I see the logic behind wanting the regen rate more that the stat pool, but Perfect Roe is rather expensive.
    Do you just use it only for raid grade content and downgrade to a Distillate for less difficult content? Or do you have other income sources to handle the cost?
    Basically, should the tiering be
    1) Bear Haunch
    2) Single-Tiger Malt
    3) Sugar Skulls
    Or would you use Jewels of Misrule as the budget option instead?
    Or for basement budget, would you even just look towards Cordial Teas?

    Why divines and reinforced over sturdy

    • @Hyperioxes
      @Hyperioxes  2 года назад +3

      Block cost reduction is just not needed when you know exactly when to block. As for beginners, Sturdy can be useful but even then in my opinion going with Reinforced+Divines and using a single block cost reduction enchant is better, it will reduce your block cost down to 900 from 1100, and you'll only have to change a single enchant once you learn to play, rather than getting different trait on all of your gear.
      For comparison, Reinforced + Divines grants you 1608 armor (2.43% - 4.63% damage mitigation) and 84 magicka recovery, full Sturdy reduces your block cost from 1100 down to 800

So if u count all of that plus also giving u max health its actually batter than presented here. Ur doing exactly what ur blaming other youtuber of.
