Dude, thank you for this. I've been looking for a sure way to get rid of leaf ping. I lube the front of the leaf always and sometimes it works, sometimes not. Lubing the back has worked 100% of the time, weird but very helpful! So thanks again.
I've tried 205g0 on the back of the leaf and it had little to no effect. Was it because of the fact that I was using 205g0? It seemed to work really well on your switches with the oil you are using. If so how can I get my hands on some! Great vid
@@MechKeyboards Ohh I had the same problem, it had little to no effect. Would you be able to share the recipe? Molykote with grease and heat them together as you said on the video? (maybe I got confused hahahahahahaha)
@@MechKeyboards Youre the best thank you!!!! I had not noticed my switches had ping... until recently I did and now I cant unhear it!!!! your video was the only one that actually addressed pingmagedon! thank you!!!!
Amazing timing on this video as I was just trying to figure out what to do with the pinging on a set of Pewters that I just picked up. Do you have a recommendation on what lube I should use among the ones that I currently have? Krytox 205g0, Tribosys 3203, Tribosys 3204
Could you tell the name or part number of the super lube that you mentioned? There's so many variations on Amazon and I wouldn't mind making sure I pick one up that you've had success with.
Could you explain the logic behind lubing the back of the leaf spring? The back of the leaf spring does not seem to have any contact points so I do not see how lubing it would help...
The leaf spring is metal, when actuated, it vibrates, adding lubricant prevents the leaf spring from reverberating, hence stopping the ping, which on some switch, the majority of the ping comes from the spring leaf.
@@MechKeyboards I see, so you're basically adding some mass behind the spring to prevent it from vibrating. In this case the mass is lube, correct? I'll go ahead and give it a shot!
Do you have any examples of switches lubed with super lube? I don't see many people using it and those that have were from years ago and never updated how it held up in the long run or posted any sound tests. Do you sell the lube mixture that you use for the springs and leaf? My switches have developed leaf ping over time and it drives me nuts. I'd love to finally be able to fix it.

Glad to hear that my video was of assistance, cheers and happy holidays!
Thanks for the nice educational video.
thanks, simple and effective from the looks of it.
You're welcome, it truly was a game changer for me.

Shoot me a PM on Reddit, I can shoot you a couple of tubes of the molykote/PAO mix.
@@MechKeyboards sent along with a few questions thanks again!

The closest would be 3203.
@@MechKeyboards Awesome thanks for that!

I use Super Lube 21030 grease and 51004/51008 oil.

@@wtfrabbidyes, that's it! Good luck and let me know how you like the results, cheers!
My baby kangaroo v2's had some of the most extreme leaf ping I've ever heard. Will definitely give this a shot.
It should do the trick, but please come back and report your results, thanks and good luck!
Hi I have a aluminum plate keyboard. Whenever I am typing in quiet place metal resonance is there. Will lubing switches fix it ?
Yes, if the switches are not already lubed it should stop resonating.
@@MechKeyboards thank you

SuperLube works just as good as any other lube, many of my sound tests are made with switches lubed with it.
I do not sell anything.
