Gamakay SN75 Gateron Milky Yellow Ghost Judges PC Plate Sound Test
you're a lifesaver friend, thank you so much, my gmk87 was locked in the mac layout I switched accidentally and it wouldn't go back to windows layout no matter what I did, this just fixed it thanks again man
do the switches come pre lubed?
The Red switches are not, the Mint Mambo are pre-lubed.
Please help! The manual says to enter wired mode, I have to connect it to my PC with the cable and turn the switch to "OFF". But when I do that, the program can't find the keyboard anymore and windows tells me there's something wrong with the USB device. I'm unable to add gifs if I'm not in wired mode :( Works fine in 2.4G mode though.
I'd recommend reaching out to the manufacturer's customer support, I was unable to reproduce.
I find that especially in the 75% size boards they are all looking the same with the only difference being the coloured keycaps. All getting a bit boring in the looks dept. I do appreciate your in-depth reviews though :)
Thanks, I appreciate that!
does it heavy ? I mean is it good for gaming also or it's heavy and not good choice?
They bottom out at 63.5g, gamers usually prefer 45g or lower.
@@MechKeyboards bottom out you mean the operation force, is that right ?
@@xH4rDx1 yes, bottom out and operating force are the same.
@@MechKeyboards Thanks!
Does the black version have an end key instead of an insert key? I see some in an online shop that has different function keys depending on the color.
I couldn't say, I only have this unit. You could reach out to Monka or the vendor.
Great review of a very interesting keyboard! Your channel certainly deserves far more views/subscribers than it currently has with the quality of the reviews. Also the waxing suggestion - Top notch, I had no idea and might use it for more than just this keyboard I am going to get soon!
Thank you kindly, I'm glad that you enjoyed, cheers!
awesome videos
Thanks!
long pole?
Yes.
Which one should I get betweeen the wireless version of this one and the Aula f75?
Both are nice but if customization and software matters, I'd pick the RK.
There is a HE version of this keyboard, right? Because it said so on Ali Express when I bought it (worried now that I've been scammed xd). Anyways, I was searching for the right software for the MAX (with Magnetic Switches, Screen and Tripe Mode) but I can't seem to find the right one. Can you help me?
I loved the video. Would you recommend these or the mmd holy pandas? They are both on aliexpress but I don't know which one would be better. I am looking for a tactile switch to type on. Thank you.
Thanks! Honestly, I quite enjoy both, but if I was forced to pick one over the other I would probably go with the holy Panda from MMD. It's a little bit deeper whereas this one's a little bit clackier and louder.
@@MechKeyboards Thank you so much for answering. I hope you have a great year ahead!
@@rohanswamynathan3382 thank you, and same to you, cheers!
There is a hot swappable version for $10 more
yayyyyy
It is fast
I mean it is fast and how much it’s fast?
It states that it has an 8K poling rate.
Is this better than Tecware phantom+ elite?.
It depends if you prefer a TKL over a 75%.
Very interesting. This may just be me but try out another small sample size of the WS Morandis. I literally cant use them because the poles are so long, the bottoms dont let a lot of my fave stems actuate, and their tolerances are so tight ive never had switch with so little wobble without any binding issues. Seriously never had a stock switch with so little wobble. I thought my gazzew switches were nice but these take the cake. My solution was to take my extra drop halo stems and basically take them to a nail file (or a rotary tool if thats more your mood lol). I took them just to the actuation point i wanted in my Morandis and then rounded them at the very end while attempting to smooth out the material so they sorta come out like long pole gateron yellow stems. Thanks for the stem suggestion btw, ive been looking for something like this. I love long pole stems but i feel like they all play it safe coming to a point. I wanna experiment. Some of my fave sounding switches/frankens ive tried dont use a pointed or long pole at all.
I know this videos quite old, but I still have a question :) I wonder how much case clearance this board has. I though you didn't pour that much silicone in, is that because that's all it could take in order to close it properly? I'm thinking about getting this board and stuffing like my old mouse pad (4mm height) in to reduce any hollowness xD I still didn't like the sound too much even after modding, so I wonder if it will sound ok with more "stuff" in it and gateron milky yellows. Otherwise I'd probably go with akko silent fairys... thanks in advance
I don't remember exactly but the case is angled and if I had to guess it goes from about 3 mm to about 1 mm at the lowest point in the front.
@MechKeyboards thanks mate!
I use polymide for plumber mod and it's a lot more effective
I'll have to give that a try, thanks!
How loud is it compared to blue switches?
Not as loud, but certainly not quiet.
What’s the polling rate for this keyboard?
I can't say, I was unable to find this information.
I tried to upgrade the firmware which I downloaded from the manufacturer website but the screen didn't change to English. Would you please give me the link of the firmware you used? The current link in your dropbox is only the software to config the keyboard. Thank you!
Took a little digging, but I was able to fish it out of cache: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/b7w5eyta5uoridnqpfl77/VTER-K75_DRIVE_ID_-1849_SOC_103_LCD_105_C-Upgrade.rar?rlkey=ibdashdoph0r12wtd7qe2quvy&st=yo5fvlka&dl=0
@@MechKeyboards Thank you very much! Definitely it's the one because in the log it said "V105 Added English UI, default Chinese UI interface" While the version I got from manufacture's website only said V104 Now my keyboard has the English option.
@@YChangHeo awesome, glad I was able to help!
hey! i really like the keycaps, can you link them or tell brand and model?
Stock Nuphy keycaps.
thanks brimstone
?
I am having nothing but trouble with this. I keep getting errors saying "fetching V3 definition failed" and when I do get it to work, it only does so with V2 and when I want to save the layout, clicking save does nothing. What am I doing wrong? I'm using a GMK87 btw
See if this helps: ruclips.net/video/S0atTtw0zUw/видео.html
Is it possible to remap the knob in the software? To use it as a scroll-wheel for example
As shown in the software section, no, the knob is not remappable.
Nc review bruh , I just saw this in my app and I'm just curious what it sounds like.
It sounds like a much higher pitched clicky than the popular brand.
Does it have halleffect, rapid trigger and snap tap?
No, this is not a Hall Effect keyboard.
@MechKeyboards is hall effect and rapid trigger same? An what is hall effect and normal keyboard difference?
@@mohammedyahyaalraiez5546 A mechanical keyboard uses physical contact between switch components to register key presses, while a Hall Effect keyboard uses magnetic sensors to detect key presses without direct physical contact, allowing for more precise actuation and customization of the actuation point, especially beneficial for gaming scenarios where fast response times are crucial; essentially, a Hall Effect keyboard is a type of mechanical keyboard that utilizes a different technology for registering keystrokes.
@@MechKeyboards thy for the information
Is the keyboard usable without installing any of the software? Asking because I want to use this for my work from home setup; however, I’m using a work computer and I’m pretty sure it won’t let me install it.
Unless you want to add a custom graphic which you can do from another computer and it will store on the keyboard, you can get by without using the software as every key is already there.
what do you use to tighten the knob with lock nuts?
The Allen wrench included with the knob.
Own Glorious GMMK 3 HE 75% and i hate it that they made it as a north facing led and i was thinking about these keycaps but i think its going to look stupid on the keyboard
I had been looking on this everywhere and nobody would give a straight answer. Thank you for this.
Glad to help!
How are these compared to gateron quinns?
I like the Quinn, but this is a heavier bump IMO.
@MechKeyboards deeper sounding you think? Which would you prefer over the other
@@EastOfEden96 tone is similar, I'd honestly be happy with either, but I might lean more towards the Apple, I've been using them now for about a week and loving them.
Does it have a software to change the light color?
Yes it does.
Will this board work with a mouse plugged into the passthrough port?
I don't see why not.
You did such a good job here, really looking forward to the mod video :D
Thanks! 😄
so thocky
For this orange colour, is the shell/case of the keyboard white or off-white? Can't really get an accurate view from the lighting in the video
Off white
my software wont work any tips?
Make sure you have downloaded the correct software for your keyboard.
Love the vids, can u make a review on the DrunkDeer A75 pro?
I'm sorry but I've never been able to reach anyone at Drunkdeer and if a content creator can't reach them, God knows how they treat their own customers.
@MechKeyboards thank u for the reply, saw your review on the aula F75 i think i will just buy that one , and again thank u
Awesome review. Subscribed🤙🏼
Both sound good, the pro sounds amazing
It does sound really good!
@@MechKeyboards would you happen to know the function to check the battery level, the manual says fn/ins but on this 65 which key would that be, thanks.
@@godse7en it's Fn + Del while in wireless mode.
@@MechKeyboards thank you
@@godse7en glad to help, cheers!
Where's the software?
On Boyi's site: www.boyikeyboard.com/download/BOYI-setup-2-1-55WIN20240524.exe
I'm interested in these switches, do they sound deep and thocky or clacky, high pitched or low?
They lean more towards a deeper tone than a clacky one IMO.
Thanks for the video. I assumed there were snaps keeping things in place, but didn't want to force too hard without knowing where it was ok to do so. Still, though. It is not an easy board to open! Pretty sure the QK61 is VIA-compatible, but not QMK.
You're right, VIA, not QMK.
lol did not even consider what the other side of that keycap tool was for haha]
Do you have issues with keeping contact between the knob's pogo pins and the keyboard's contact? I just installed my skyloong knob and can't get consistent operation.
No issues here, just got to make sure that it's properly locked into the plate.
Suena muy bien para lo que cuesta
Suena riquisimo!
Are these easier to press than reds?
Mint Mambo has a 40g ± 10g and the Red has 45g ± 15g force, so the Mint Mambo is slightly lighter.
thank you so much!, i was searching for a solution and stumbled this video!, this works like a charm.
I'm glad it helped!
