got into enthusiast mechanical keyboards a week ago, and was having the hardest time finding a keyboard i felt was worth the money for my first time. THIS rained down from the heavens and had everything i wanted and more. so excited for it!
I would personally advise getting 1 or 2 cheaper boards first to really form an opinion on what you do and don't like. That being said, this seems nice for sure.
@@matthijsboog650 i’ve had a mechanical keyboard before this one from corsair, its cool but it definitely doesn’t feel super amazing and there wasn’t much you could do to improve or change it. i like a lot of things about this board though, its the only one i’ve seen that doesn’t feel like i’m gonna be making a purchase while missing an important feature i’d want.
@@ZeldaKingdomHearts9 I'm not saying something that's not custom. I still mean custom, but cheaper like a kbd67 lite, ikki68 or keychron v-series. Just affordable boards that have room for mods. But if you really like this one and have the budget, go right ahead. It's just that I personally would go about it differently.
Same, a couple of weeks in research and was thinking whether to go with Keychron Pro Q1 or something else, then Hipyo posts this haha. Idk if I can make it with an emergency save up tho since I just did a haul... Maybe I need a month more 😭
@@matthijsboog650 Oh yeah I understand! I’ll definitely look into those suggestions, I’m looking for a 75% board cause i still want my f keys and arrows but I’m open to trying shortcuts if its not too cumbersome.
Hipyo you should do a keyboard accessory video. Like what you use for switch pullers, lube station, how you store/organize your stuff, display your fav keyboards, etc… would love to see that while I’m getting into the hobby
Exactly! I'm tired of people saying these keyboards are "budget" or maybe even "entry" when the cost totals around $200 - $300 and up (CA dollars). If I wanted a cheap or 'entry' keyboard, maybe I'll find something on amazon within the $50 range which I have :) Anyway, great video on the zoom 75. I want the LCD screen but you're right, its not very practical in a sense. I'm not going to be looking down at my keyboard much to look at time, temps, speeds and such. I have these set on my monitor and the knob is quite handy for volume control. Might try it out anyway for kicks.
It's starts from 199USD, without tax and shipping cost for base wersion with knob. In reality it's 250$ minimum and usually you'll end up with more than 300$ cost for keyboard that was presented in this video. It's definitely not budget, more like premium segment.
Glad to see a review of something BEFORE the group buy, for once. Zoom makes some neat boards, buts its definitely becoming a crowded market for this layout. Need more brands to hop on the 1800/96% bandwagon.
SA profile caps are like cheat codes, they can even make clicky switches sound nice and deep. Combined with all of that foam and idk if you can even get thockier. It'd be cool to see you do an ultra clacky build and compare it with this one.
Does the profile of the key cap make that much difference to the final sound? SA can make it that much thockier vs something like a cherry profile? Asking because I just got my second mech, a K8 Pro, and from videos at least the sound is good. Keychron's OSA profile key caps, PBT, gat pro brown switches. If I can get that thing to sound anywhere near this thocky through mods I'd love to, but not sure if I should mod key caps or switches first. What about SA profile makes that sound, like am I looking for more height or what?
@@RyanCamarattaI used to run a k8 pro with gateron browns, and there's not much you can do to it to improve the thockiness but I put the foams from the packaging below the pcb and that helped bring out the sound more, the main thing you can do is just get other switches like the morandis shown in this vid
@@JamieOliver77 I got with keyboard kustoms and they had some cut PE and Poron foams, I put sound insulation on the bottom case, and threw morandi switches in it and it sounds like a dream
For those of you wondering why you cannot buy it - the group buy is over and vendors are currently fulling GB orders. However, Hippyo revealed in his RUclips stream today that he is trying to make an alternative keyboard that is similar to Zoom75. Keep an eye out for that video
Again, I don’t know why when it comes to price point, the MK community is literally allergic to the word “Midrange”. At nearly 300 dollars, this is obviously a midrange board. Can’t wait to pick mine up April 11th.
this board looks absolutely immaculate. were it not a groupbuy, and had i not just built a custom id definitely consider going all out on this and making something truly my own.
Glorious has some amazing barebone keyboards. I bought one and thought I needed to put foam in it, but with the hater on silent tactile switches it sounds really nice 😮
I’d consider this a stock build. What makes a modded build is the different modifications and extra stuff done to the keyboard that wasnt even included in the kit to begin with. Love how this sounds tho😌👌🏾
I really like those "AF SA" profile keycaps... got two sets myself, and really enjoy them. They're cloned from sets like MG Monster and MG Ember, but also improved compared to the original. The keyboard's physical layout, however, is missing 2 of my most-used keys on the right side. Giving those up would hurt.
@@erwark Mostly, I'd want 4 keys above the right arrow instead of 3. Home+Fn2, PgUp+WheelUp, PgDn+WheelDn, End+RightClick. But also, I'd really prefer 3 right-side modifier keys instead of 2. My keymap is kind of complex, with 6 functions on those 3 modifiers. It goes space, Ctrl+NumLock, Alt+Warp, Super+MouseLock, then the arrows. I adapted it to work on my Whitefox, with only 2 mod keys, but it's an awkward fit. If you want full details, my keymaps should land in QMK soon. Just look for my username in the QMK code. Each keymap has a picture for easy reference. At the moment though, the pull request is still in progress.
@@ToyKeeper I meant which buttons were going going to miss, but interesting to know. I have always wanted to try some SA caps, but most of them being ABS was a big turn-off
@@erwark Physically, I would miss the button above the right arrow, and the button to the left of the left arrow. I use those a lot. I could shift the right column up one row using the button+knob module in the corner, so one button can be mitigated... but I'd still miss the other one. As for what those missing buttons do... for me it's the Super + MouseLock key to the left of the arrows... and the key to the right of the up arrow does End, Right Click, and opening terminals.
I second the Meletrix delivers comment. My Zoom TKL showed up exactly when they said it would. Even Keychron has failed to do that on preorders and group buys.
Congratulations you are now officially a proper RUclipsr because calling a $200 keyboard "budget" is only something a real youtuber would say. just FYI: the rest of us, likely look for budget keyboards around the $60 or less mark.

Since 2024 😂
Hipyo you are a funny dude.. I know I don't have the time or focus to build a custom keyboard but I still come back to your channel to watch videos...This is one I might actually buy.. If you were interested in it I think you could review some other tech products in the same style as you make these videos and do really well.
this keyboard with a set of ceramic keycaps will be insanely thocky and creamy, i have to do it
I can't wait for April 11th
If it comes in the kit, it’s assembly, not mod - unless you’re using the piece in a way that wasn’t intended. (For example, cutting up the cardboard box to use it in lieu of case foam.)
If it passes a cat scan, it’s good enough for me.
Haha you got me so good there Hipyo. Very good job on getting me there
The sound test so good
"haha you got me so good there hipyo very good job on getting me there thank you"

-Probably me
I...I need that sound but in TKL....oh wait I did buy the Zoom TKL AE. I guess I'll just pray it sounds as good.
The longest sound test from Hipyo. POG
space bar rattles but still amazing. and the sound is solid. solid not as in good. solid as in it sounds like rocks and very tactile
I've been so good refraining from splurging on keyboards, you know, because I have no money. But Hipyo is making it very hard.
If it were possible to get this with both the screen and a knob this would be my dream keyboard
haha you got me so good there hipyo very good job on getting me there thank you"'\
why do I always find these immaculate keboards late.. is there any way to get my hands on a zoom75 as of rn??
