- THE first pair I really wanted all the way back to second grade! Air Jordan black/cement 4 from 1989. Reviewing my deadstock pair and going down memory lane with a few pieces from my childhood.
I'm born 1978 and remember every release back in the days. Sadly as a kid you don't collect, you wear them till they fall apart 😁
So I enjoy your videos even more, because they bring back sweet memories. Thanks for your videos, you do an awesome job 🙌🏻
Thanks for the love, I appreciate it. Very true, we did thrash and pitch our kicks haha.. wish I kept all my shoes but I do have my Original Jordan's. Got them for Christmas and saved up to buy when I got in middle/HS.. should've kept EVERYTHING.. oh well, fun hunting down gems these days. Kicks I had and so many models I wish I had! So much good stuff in Nike's catalog its impossible to have it all back in the day.
@@ogorbust1697 You are so right. I did so many mini jobs, safed birthday and Christmas money to afford the newest model. And then the joy when u finally walk in the store to buy them, man that was awesome.
I don't wanna sound like an old bitter man, but today is so much different with all this reselling, bots etc. For us it was about the shoes, today it's all about the money. It was much more fun back then and I'm happy I was young in the 80s and 90s 😄

To me the black/cement 4s and the black/metallic 5s are the 2 most iconic OG Jordan's. Love these!
Definitely both super tough colorways, timeless classics.

That’s one of the cleanest pairs of black cement 4’s I’ve seen in a long time. Most of the time you see them with the nubuck chipping away. I remember seeing these on sale a few months after the 5’s originally released on sale for 49 bucks at this shoe store called Bootleggers. They had a whole rack of these and the fire reds. What I’d give to be able to go back and buy them all up.
It's really cool that you still have that old drawing from when you were a kid. That's just such a neat touch, especially with the shoes
Thanks man, I remember drawing it like yesterday. Tried to do so much I believe we had one hour in class and had to turn it in and wanted it to be huge lol.. hence the unfinished fans at the bottom. Remember wanting to do more sneaker detail but time restraints lol
The drawing included the sneakers, just raise the value with Nostalgia.
I'm glad you mentioned the OGs being durabuck..people assume Nike was using real leather on all OGs. We are probably the same age, definitely bring back memories looking at your videos.

I was born in 75. I was a teenager when these came out. I actually seen them up close, many times. And i can tell you this, the 1999 version was better then the 89 OGs.
Shape, materials and MJ wore a pair that looked exactly like these is it for me. Nothing like the original 💯

I can tell these are the real deal. My wife bought me the white/red version of these the year before we got married. I can tell they're real because mine also started to deteriorate at the sidewall even though I didn't wear them very much. Just wondering if it would be wise to have the sidewall repaired? They are literally pulling away from the rest of the shoe.

Been wondering about the milk oil spray for awhile , I bought some angelus suede renew but it’s terrible for vintage shoes . Think im gonna use the milk oil spray on my Oompa Loompa dunks! Great video
I've used it plenty of times on vintage kicks.. leather, durabuck its all safe with the mink oil spray

Im looking at my 2024 cement 4s and they definitely not the exact design the spacing is off on sitching and the sizes on the features are smaller

So you’re telling me this same exact Durabuck material used on these Black Cement 4s was also used on the White Cement and Fire Reds? Is it just the nap textures that are different or is Durabuck just the main raw material processed differently?
Yep same durabuck just black or white. Og military 4 was the only colorway made with leather.

nubuck is an actual leather, durabuck is fully synthetic, innaccurate to say its even close to the same thing

This OG Black Cement IV Is In Rare Condition I Didn’t See The “Durabuck” Cracking Only The Midsoles And “Nike Air” Still Visible On The Insoles That’s Crazy How You Never Seen This Very Often Usually Shoe Already Been Cracked And Everything Like Why Nike Can’t Make IVs In OG Colorways Like The 89’ Just Wondering
Thanks man, definitely one of the favorites in my collection. This was the first pair I really wanted and cherish these. Midsoles are going to crack for sure. Ds so insole stamp will remain pristine. The durabuck is in great shape, I do condition it with the mink oil spray to preserve.

Ugh! Why cant they get the shape, cut, or toe box the same on the retros. Why does the toe box look like a steel toe boot rather than a sneaker. Why cant they get the nubuck/durabuck to have the same trim lines. If you made the OGs you should be able to make them again.How can you make one product in 80s but never duplicate again. EVER! I had these in 89 when I was 14, and I had the 3s in 88 and the 2s in 87 and the 1s in 85. Its ifuriating that they cannot make them the same.
