- Continuing my quest to collect vlogs on every non-chain restaurant on the Vegas strip and downtown, today's video comes from the Treasure Island where I'm trying out Gilley's for the first time. This is a super fun venue with a full saloon and honky-tonk. But it's all about the food for me so I'm going to try as many dishes as I can because as you may have heard

You two had great on-screen energy together. Norma is cool and as RUclips Moderator I have found collaborative live streams are problematic as her fans and moderators pretty much have no filter. Norma has a lot of friends in Vegas and Im glad you two got together. I would love to see you and Bill and Lisa collaborate someday.

The burnt buns are really upsetting to me. Did they think the were getting away with something or did they just not care? Unfortunately for them, they got busted! It has what you might call a chilling effect on the viewer. I would give their food a skip. Thanks Shin!

Don’t the chefs notice that all the buns are burned to a crisp,when they are assembling the sandwich’s?
No they don't and they are not chefs !! Hourly workers trained by corporate goons.. they are told just send it out .. that place is like eating at a national chain joint . Outback,BJ's , Texas Roadhouse. They all suck . Very low quality food just jazzed up a little bit to fool the poor working class folks that think it's the bomb ... And then ya gotta bend over backwards at the register, lol .

Holy crap. I can’t believe that chicken was nearly $30. I guess they’re banking on people having the drunchies. Kind of looked like Applebees quality food. Just so expensive! Must be a touristy location.

Shin, dude! They burnt The buns on all 3 of you sandwiches! I would not have accepted that. The salmon with broccoli rabe looked delish glad it was. At least you got a couple of palatable sides. Thanks for showing us what this place was like.

You confirmed what we always assumed when walking by. With that being said, the salmon and sides did look very good. Too many choices to eat at to experience mediocre food. Your effort is always appreciated. Stay hungry for us!

As a Floridian that KEY LIME PIE is a travesty. Key Limes are Limes in essence but there juice is a cloudy yellow and it is 5x more acidic then a LEMON, if made correctly, the pie would be a bright yellow color. Key Lime Juice being 5x more acidic and bitter then lemon juice creates a unique eating experience that causes a pucker factor as you eat. Gilley's can buy actual KEY LIME juice to make the real version BUT they went kind of DENNY's on you by using Lime Juice in the pie instead. Lime juice is almost half the cost as Key Lime Juice so that is why many places uses LIME juice and just say its Key Lime Pie. So Gilley's RENAME that as a LIME PIE, signed EVERYONE IN FLORIDA! Shin love you as always, if you ever come to Florida you have to get a REAL KEY LIME PIE! You will see the difference. Gilley's gets a 2.7 out of 5 rating. (Burnt Buns did not help you any)

Interestingly enough, despite Gilley's having been around on the Strip since seemingly forever, I don't recall any vlog review on this place. So it was nice to get Shin's take.

Gilley's was a one and done for me. Glad I tried it but no need to return. I appreciate that the ad placement on your videos is the best I have seen. You are the only one that does not have ads popping in mid sentence. Thanks for taking the time to always present a good video.
I certainly wouldn't find the need to return for the food but I may go back for some line dancing lessons. The saloon side looked like a lot of fun. I do put conscious thought about ad timing so I'm happy you noticed!

Do you ever provide feedback to restaurant such as the buns being burnt?
Sometimes. I guess it depends on who's asking. If it's my server, I typically just say everything is fine. I'd rather they go and provide service to guests and visitors to Vegas. I consider myself at work when I'm filming a video and I don't need the attention. I'm just here to make the vlog and report to you guys. I will be full regardless by the end of taping. I love the atmosphere in Gilley’s, I’d go for a casual meal! If we didn’t eat somewhere mediocre once in awhile, we wouldn’t appreciate fine dining as much 😉

Any decent diner will never burn buns. Gilley's is a major disappointment and I'll pass . Shin, I hope you review a more upscale restaurant next Saturday .

The handheld items were a disappointment with the burnt buns. It's odd that they'd send those out. The sides looked good though, especially the corn.

Mr. Shin quickly identified that Gilley's is using pre-made frozen food that is reheated in a oil fryer. Honestly for the money, Burger King and Popeye's Chicken looks better! $237.56 plus a $47.00 tip is a lot of money for Denny's style food. Treasure Island is great, Gilley's not so much...

Treasure Island used to be one of my favorite places to eat and stay back in the day ( before it became TI). There was an AWESOME coffee shop where we got comped steak dinners. This was also before those horrible hard wood floors. I rarely step foot in this place now.

The brisket and salmon sound good enough to give Gilley’s a try but I do NOT like burned buns at all. Onion rings are a big no from me. An onion blossom appetizer would be better!

I usually stay at T.I. when I come to Vegas. I've eaten at many of the restaurants at T.I., including Gilleys. Very mediocre with very high prices. And the service was average, at best. I would never go again. If you want barbeque, go to Lucille's at Green Valley ranch or the location at Red rock casino.

Try the fries at Vida at Fontainbleau. I swear they are the best I’ve ever had.

I guess Gilley’s is banking on all the fun activities vs food to keep people coming back. It’s always so disappointing when restaurants put Sysco frozen food on their menus. But the big disgrace is to then charge high prices for this stadium type food. It’s so risky to have meh food, so why chance it when there is so much competition in the same area. Prices are outrageous for the quality, really outrageous prices despite the quality.
This is the reality of the Las Vegas strip nowadays. Restaurants, even the very average ones, are very expensive. It's one of the reasons I make videos so that viewers can get an idea of the prices prior to visiting as opposed to getting sticker shock in person. Thanks for watching!

I'd say a good 80%-90% of the leftovers I take home get eaten. I'm a homebody by nature so it's nice just have a bunch of food to microwave and eat while I game or watch TV. Thanks for watching!

I have to say you are way to nice. I don't make fusses when I eat out, but I would have spoken up on this order.
The buns where bejond burned, they where cremated. It is an embarrassment to send this to a table. Especially when you order that much food.
You said the server was really nice, did you tell her about the buns? If yes, I'm shocked they did not comp you anything.
You mentioned that the chicken, onion rings etc where prepackaged. You could tell. Looked like caffeteria food. Or from a fast food joint, and not even a good one.
The only thing that looked good was the fish. It looked like what a dish from a restaurant should look like.
And that dessert was a sorry thing to look at.
For once I'm not jealous of wanting any of your leftover. Hope you have a better experience next time.
When I'm on camera, I never send anything back. I'm there to make a video and I got what I wanted as soon as the order reaches my table. I'd rather the kitchen and service staff keep their attention on tourists who spent their hard earned money to take a vacation to Las Vegas, even if something is wrong with my order. I will be full at the end of the taping no matter what so it's not about eating, as odd as that may sound. Thanks for watching!
