I have XXIO all the way through the bag - driver through to pitch , played them for a few years now and love them. I got mine cheaply through Golf clubs 4 cash.
I live in NZ, and Xxio are very popular here although expensive. One of the leading outlets sell their products, so dead easy to get hold of here. I play Xxio 11's and love them. I especially love their fairway woods.
Andy, i watched this a few months ago and bought an 8 iron on ebay, so i could compare with my ping g430 HL with 35gm shaft. I couldn't believe how much nicer and easier it played. I now play xxio irons and love iron play, instead of being unpredictable and frustrated. Hcap has dropped by 3 so far. Thank you for highlighting!
Hi Alan. I am playing G430s right now and am looking to change. Did you see any drop off in distance with the XXIO's? I am over 60 so my club head speed isn't what it once was.
@@stevengirard9941 hi Steve, I only saw your message just now. The total reverse, is the honest answer. I use Shotscope so I get my numbers. My g430 8 iron had dropped back to 125 Avg, then the xxio was 135 again. But the ease with which the ball rises into a higher Trajectory with a tight landing is a pleasure to watch. I'm enjoying my irons again. Can't believe the difference. One of the clubs is xxio x (7 iron). The others are xxio 12 with the 1200 Graphite shafts. Both are superb, I'm equally happy with both. My home course is links, which suits the x. You'll not regret getting your hands on these. Cheers...
Just got fitted for XXIO 12 irons. Im a slower swing higher handicap golfer that had been struggling with consistency with my irons. I was amazed how consistent and forgiving these are. Yes they're pricey, but they're worth it to me. As far as availability, here in Florida they're easy to find and they travel around to the various courses to setup demo / fittings. I'd love to you review their 12 and Prime series clubs.
I’ve got a set and they are brilliant,I got fitted from the club fitter of the year GB Graeme Bell at East Kilbride, great graphite shafts ,thanks buddy 🏴
XXIO is the high end brand of Dunlop. Dunlop also owns Srixon and Cleveland. So in the video when you said “this is not a xxio product” I lol because if it was a Cleveland wedge, it kind of was!😂
Epon AF 506 is a one piece forged cavity back game improvement iron. It's the house brand for the Endo forging house in Japan. I never thought something like that existed, but there they are.
I just got a used set of XXIO X Forged with graphite shafts at Dicks Sporting Goods for $165! I told the clerk whoever priced them must have thought XXIO was an off brand.
Very nice looking iron. Just from the video it does seem as though XXio may be onto something with the light shaft and counterbalanced weighting. Andy's ball flight did look a bit straighter than normal, maybe not be much but definitely noticeable.
They look similar to jpx 900 forged which is a cb. There are lots of forged cb irons. Did I hear you right - you say you havent seen many forged cavity backs?
Were Callaway X Tours not forged cavity back? I've been using Xxio X irons for two seasons now. Love them, but I have to admit the counterbalanced shaft isn't remotely noticeable. They are great irons though. Xxio available via your Srixon rep. Our club pro has a good relationship with our local Srixon rep. I highly recommend them. Gone from 14 to 9 handicap in 18 months.
Have an XXIO 11 10.5 dg driver. Far and away the best driver I have used, and I’ve used plenty! Most forgiving driver I have ever swung. Incredible. Having trouble finding left hand IIXO irons at a reasonable price. A bit unfair testing there forged irons, they aren’t well known for forged irons, in fact you should be testing the XXIO 12 irons. You should know that forged irons feel pretty much the same across all brands. Sometimes I reckon you show a biased to certain brands, like PXG.
This comment is baffling? How can there be biased and how is it unfair? I have reviewed a product and gave nothing but plaudits? What is it you are watching?
@@TheAverageGolfer I just know a little bit more about that brand than you do I think. There platform is making clubs for slower swing speeds, they target the “average golfer” per se. I was surprised to see a forged iron by this brand, I’ve never seen or heard of XXIO making forged irons. I find it amusing when I see people “testing” forged irons because in my experience over 35 years of golf and having owned probably 100 or so different sets of irons, all top of the range, with numerous forged models I found almost all forged models are pretty much the same, not forgiving but feel great when struck properly. To be true to this brand I would have tested the XXIO 12 irons. That’s the type of cavity iron they have been making for years and hang there hat on, not the forged model. They are a great brand in my opinion and deserve a more knowledgeable appraisal of there more well known models.
Not sure why you indicate you weren’t aware of any other manufacturer making a forged cavity back iron…Titleist, Callaway, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Srixon, and others 😊have been making forged cavity back irons for many years
Brilliant video Andy, effortless swing with that 8 iron and they stayed straight😅 Irons look nice and forgiving. On my bucket list to get over to Portugal so have a little nose on the link 👊🏻 As always straight forward and good review 🏌🏻♂️ ⛳️
At first thought my asian friend overpaid this not a named brand but after hitting his at the range i bought mine from globalgolf and now a total fan of xxio the name is horrible but the club is aid to average golfers easy does it🎉 forgiveness is 👑 king
I don't know how they are allowed to call these "forged"!,,,,,it's not only this company but many of the top end makers!. A forged iron is made from a bigot of steel, face included,,,not with a laser welded face later!
I have XXIO all the way through the bag - driver through to pitch , played them for a few years now and love them. I got mine cheaply through Golf clubs 4 cash.
Have had these for 2 years-love them. 7 H’ap at 78 age. Proximity to hole excellent. Thanks for the review🏌🏽

Hi, sorry I just saw this message. No, distance very similar. Use the x irons rather than the 12s, which would be less distance

I still play Ping Eye2 cast CB irons 2-PW. The feel will never be duplicated. Of course that's just me. These are nice though.

I play the Epon AF 505. One of my sets and such a pure feeling when struck. I love these. Epon have hit a home run.
I just got a used set of XXIO X Forged with graphite shafts at Dicks Sporting Goods for $165! I told the clerk whoever priced them must have thought XXIO was an off brand.
My Cleveland XL Launcher irons also have a counter weight in shaft and the v shaped sole. I love them.
Same company, same technology
You can't appreciate how good these irons look until you see them in person.
I will only play a Forged CB and have for years. Mizuno and now Sub 70. The feel can't be beat IMO.
I played the irons some years ago and they were very good , but I’ve not seen them on sale anywhere for years.
Very nice looking iron.

Great content! Cheers from Georgia, USA!!
What swingweight are these? Does the superlight shaft and counterbalance mean theyre a really light swingweight?
Were Callaway X Tours not forged cavity back? I've been using Xxio X irons for two seasons now. Love them, but I have to admit the counterbalanced shaft isn't remotely noticeable. They are great irons though.

I still play Ping Eye 2+ irons. Love them but kicking around the idea of getting something new in the upcoming year.
Love most of your helpful videos, but I have to question your comment on no other forged cavity back irons, in particular, the Callaway DCB?
Yes good point 👍
Black Friday deal fast incoming for me! 😊
Any guess how it would feel like if the weighted grip was replaced with a non weighted one?
The grip is too small
Bob at Fresh Pond Golf Course in Cambridge, MA is a Xxio reseller: great quality products and a cool niche technology. Cheers.
They always seemed too expensive for me, but top quality no doubt.⛳⛳⛳

Not a named brand?
They look and perform really well, but from what I remember XXio are right at the top end regarding price, so I would probably pass
9701 Welch Manors
2438 Christiansen Ridges
cavity back+forged= Mizuno
Correct answer 👍
1555 Madge Mall
Jerad Mission
059 Abbott Pass
Edna Square
Joan Plains
Taylormade P770 are forged cavity irons…
P770 are not cavity back, they are hollow bodied
Hollow body

They probably don’t want to be associated with bigoted steel.
Bad look for the brand.😂
2943 Toy Fords
They are owned by Srizon 👍
Dunlop
@paulmcgee1867 yes SRI own Dunlop and srixon , thanks
Spencer Points
35801 Emely Pike
Looks like a lot of offset
The zx7 is better !
Certainly different
