Finally! Thank you so much! I have been searching for someone to show the actual quilting on a collage quilt. I can figure out the rest but I hadn't seen anyone show up close how it was quilted. So very helpful! Thank you!
Wow! Your video was so informative. I’m glad I watched it before spending money unnecessarily. I did purchase a 14mm rotary cutter though. What a difference it made. I’d never thought of using the spray method. I’m now spray the background fabric and lay collage pieces down without overlapping, then spray the pieces that will overlap and place them. It’s a time saver. Thank you for passing on the methods you’ve learned. Here’s another old lady who has learned from a youngster.
Thanks for showing us! This gives me courage to stray off path and use my own fabrics. Really love small rotary too...would have never thought. Great process, end quilt if gorgeous. Love to see a man quilting...and surprise feline guest in background! ❤
This is the best video I've found on collage. My joy is longarming, definitely not piecing, but I've wanted to do the pink Cadillac as a companion to the old truck that I did many years ago. I dint remember longarming that as being a very happy experience. But now I have a better plan for the quikting, thanks to this video. Wish I had known about the spray before buying steam a seam because I think it would make quilting 37:25 so much easier. Great video.
I appreciate the fact that you show us different methods of tacking down the appliqué pieces and giving your opinion on the pros and cons of each. I have a friend who would love this collage. I already purchased the pattern but will use my own stash. Your video was very complete. Thank you so much for showing us how to do collage quilting. You have definitely inspired me.
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost the login password. I would love any help you can give me.
@Alex Ernest Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Every time I go to a show I buy a L H Pattern. I love the patterns but so far I haven’t made one. Your video is giving me the incentive to get going on a pattern. Thanks for your great and informative video.
Absolutely stunning quilt. The Kaffe fabrics are gorgeous. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. You explained all the steps very well and after watching you do this I have decided to try doing one of the Laura Heine collage quilts - but I am starting with a much smaller one for a first attempt. Thank you so much for this video.
This is the first time I have watched how to do this. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. Thank you for showing how to do this. I am excited on using your method of the collage quilt. Your quilts are so beautiful!
Thank you so very much for the tutorial. As you can imagine, with the pandemic, Quilt Festival could not take place. No classes nor the fun of shopping at various booths. In a nutshell you have given me both. Patricia-South Padre Island, Texas
Hi Marcia: Thank You so much for your comments. We have been able to take in 2 Patriots games. One outside of Boston against the chiefs and Patrick Mahones and one in Tampa against the Buccaneers. Absolutely Epic experience for a Canadian from the North. Seeing is live is an experience I will never forget. Thanks Alain
I love this tutorial and I am a bit more confident about starting a collage quilt on a much smaller scale and hope to work up to doing a Nola someday. THANK You!
First time I’ve seen this type of quilt done. I loved watching you complete it. You did a gear job instructing and I would live to try this on my own. Maybe after watching more of your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
This is sooo beautiful, I love it! A lot of work, that's for sure, but it is worth it! I will go look at your website. And thank you for the tip for the Elmer's Craftbond! Again, magnificient!
I live in Brazil. I want to thank God and you for kindly sharing your work with us. I ask God to continue blessing you a lot. Always grateful (I subscribed to the channel. I put it in the translation)
Beautiful quilt! I like how you show different methods for cutting, tacking down the pieces, and fussy cutting from colorful fabric to get the different shapes such as of the eye. I haven't tried a collage quilt yet but maybe I will now.
This is great! I just recently have gotten into collage quilt and actually plan on making Nola. I was shocked at how much $ ends up going into one of these. I bought the kit from Laura Heine. Once you throw in the pattern and the Steam a Seam it's quite expensive. I will definitely try your method in the future!!
wow. amazing. real talented! I have only been quilting for about 3 years....so a novice. lol. but this has inspired me to try! perhaps a smaller project at first.....a wall hanging I think.....keep up the good work!
Hi. Enjoyed this video. I have bought several of her patterns, haven't yet started any, but I had been thinking about the spray adhesive as an alternate method. Now I know I'm on the right track.
This is great! Thank you for doing this video. I have often wondered about using spray. I am going to make her without horn to look more like a horse. Just great work.
love the beautiful work you guys do, I am so into collage quilting, made my first and it took me 2 years to put together, it is big. still have to quilt it...
i have a pattern I've been wanting to do, but it looks so complicated, that I had set it aside, with the spray method it doesn't seem so daunting. I going to get my pattern out and start fabric selection. Thanks so much.
Oi, sou do Brasil, descobri seu canal hoje. Adorei seu vídeo, muito didático. Seu pensamento na montagem e escolha das peças é maravilhoso. Adorei. Vou me arriscar em.uma peça menor pra por em prática o q ensinou.
What an EXCELLENT video!!! Thank you! What about that quilt above your sewing area? Beautiful, and those supplies too? I have never seen a Fine Tip chalk pen before.
I used freezer paper and traced the pattern pieces, then pressed it to the fabric to cut it out. I used that method for Seawell, the cactus collage and now Nola. It works well for me and really saves the fusible web which i find very expensive.
She's a beauty! 💛 I recently ordered the Alejandro kit from you (waiting excitedly for him to arrive in Australia) but I will definitely be adding this one to my wishlist and will order in a few weeks time.... 🦄🦄
You do such a beautiful job on these and your instructions are so clear. Thank you. My friend Sally and I will put the elephant together. We bought kits more than a year ago and hate the ugly gold fabric background that came in the kit so that has to change. We are not paper piecers so it will be a process! I just know we can do it.
Nice trying ot figure out how you did your free motion quilting with that foot, if you would not mind elaborating on that........Thanks they are beautiful.........
Wonderful video! This is a new process for me and I appreciate all the detailed instructions! I’m considering using Misty Fuse webbing and applying to my fabrics before the cutting. I’m curious about how the Wright spray method works with the needle on the machine. Any stickiness or gumming up??
I love the binding foot as well. I have a Janome MC 6500. Would this foot work with my machine as well? I think it would look nice with a double needle as well. I was hand sewing on a binding last night and was wishing for something like this! I have Laura's pattern for the pin cushion, will use your detail video to help me complete it. Still need to collect fabrics.
Love this pattern and process. Thank for the demonstration. You are a great instructor! I also am very interested in your sewing table. Will you please share your sewing table info with us? I am looking for a good sewing table
OMG! Thanks for sharing God bless you, so much of patience I am from India, I don't know if I can get all the sticking material so I am going to go the old method of stitching each piece I don't know how I am going to be successful thanks once again God bless you
Great job with the demonstration and the using the different techniques. I was wondering what the purpose was for using a free motion foot if you are just sewing straight lines during the quilting process?
I really enjoyed watching you put this quilt together! And that foot/jig for the binding!!!!!! Do you sell one for Baby Loc? I don't do a lot of quilts, but I like watching other people do them. Thank you for sharing, it is amazingly beautiful!
Thanks for all this information. I think I'll probably use the Craft Bond. The Free Fuse seems to take far too long to adhere. Beautiful job though! Is the elephant paper pieced (as the original pattern called for) or is it fused? I absolutely LOVE that elephant! Your collage work is so pretty and you've given me the incentive to use up my scraps instead of making another pieced quilt! LOL I have a quilting pattern of a bicycle with flowers in a basket and now I know how I can handle this. I can finally start working on it after five years!!!! Again, thanks so much for sharing this. Please take care and virtual hugs from Canada.
Hello, that is beautiful work.I wanted to know if you have customers that request that you make them a specific quilt? If so what timeline do you give them?
Hi Charlene. Thank You, so much ! The Nola kit is $149.97 CDN. Loads of customers buy the kits that we do demonstrations on. Demonstration tutorial videos allows our customer to learn in the comfort of there own homes. It's like having a person instructor in your home. Cheers Delilah
I am stunned right now😮. I’ve never seen anything so beautiful!

I really appreciate that. Thank you so much.
I’m about to begin my first Laura Heine pattern, so this video was very helpful regarding tracing, cutting, and adhering the fabric. Thank you!

What an EXCELLENT video!!! Thank you!
What about that quilt above your sewing area? Beautiful, and those supplies too? I have never seen a Fine Tip chalk pen before.
I love the fine tip chalk pen. really helps me draw out FMQ prior to sewing without worrying that its left behind a mark
I used freezer paper and traced the pattern pieces, then pressed it to the fabric to cut it out. I used that method for Seawell, the cactus collage and now Nola. It works well for me and really saves the fusible web which i find very expensive.
That's an excellent tip. Delilah and I will have to try that
Великолепно! Хочется потянуть экран в стороны, чтобы рассмотреть произведения вашего мастерства на стенах. Восхищена вашим талантом и терпением.
Большое тебе спасибо.

Hmmm man is bless if only we knew jus how fabulous we are magnificent
Nice trying ot figure out how you did your free motion quilting with that foot, if you would not mind elaborating on that........Thanks they are beautiful.........
Not sure how to get more into detail. I've always used the round foot to FMQ
Have you ever done a hummingbird? I’d love to see one done and attempt that!
Not Yet, But it is on my bucket list.
Can you please do a binding tutorial with your cool binding foot. I just might have to get one of those..
Yes, We plan on doing one in 2 weeks. As we will have about 5 quilts ready to bind. So lots of corners to nail and show.
Could you please post more info about the chalk pencil you are using? It looks epic. Thanks for showing the methods so clearly
Wonderful video! This is a new process for me and I appreciate all the detailed instructions! I’m considering using Misty Fuse webbing and applying to my fabrics before the cutting. I’m curious about how the Wright spray method works with the needle on the machine. Any stickiness or gumming up??

Great job with the demonstration and the using the different techniques. I was wondering what the purpose was for using a free motion foot if you are just sewing straight lines during the quilting process?
It save time changing it out? I find it really easy to use. Either one work the same for me.
I really enjoyed watching you put this quilt together! And that foot/jig for the binding!!!!!! Do you sell one for Baby Loc? I don't do a lot of quilts, but I like watching other people do them. Thank you for sharing, it is amazingly beautiful!
The Baby Loc company should have information on the binding tool.
How big is your lightbox? Looking into buying one. Thx. Great video

So beautiful I want to do this, what begginer pieces should I begin with to get my technical problems worked out?
Our first Collage Quilt was the Doodle Doo Roster kit. We learned from scratch. That is a good learning collage beginner free tutorial as well.
Hello, that is beautiful work.I wanted to know if you have customers that request that you make them a specific quilt? If so what timeline do you give them?
Yes, We do that all the time. It is usually about 48 hours. contact@cottagetreasures.store
How much does it approximately cost to make this quilt? How do you ever make any money quilting? They are beautiful works of art.
Are you able to longarm quilt w/o give built up on the needle and pull on the fabric.
We don't long arm so I can't answer that.
I love that you use various methods. How long did it take to complete NOLA from start to finish?
Love how it came out, have you done the garden party quilt by Laura Heine?
Thanks You very much. No, we haven't yet. but we are currently tempted to try the new lady bug or the wine glass.
