This is brilliant! Just the other day, I told Joe Samples, son, how this song brought tears to my non-verbal mom's eyes when I played it for her. Today, I am so pleased to hear this fresh new version.Adding it to my downloads too.
One of my more fond memories of drill weekends in the Navy Reserve was going back to the Little Creek BEQ in the evening and hearing the musicians practice. Covering a Crusaders/Wilton Felder is always a good bet
Absolutely beautiful!!! It touched my heart! I had to listen to it over and over because of how profoundly great it is! Thank you for your service Jared and sharing a piece of your life's journey!
This is a great version, also check out the "Live at the Roxy" version. The Crusaders rocked this Wilton Felder classic cut. It's one of my go-to songs whenever I'm on the road and thinking of home.
I just came across an article on UNM's website about Jared. I was delighted to see that he was related to you. This video was linked and now here I am. I was a student of yours back around 91'-93'. You were always one of my favorite teachers even though I may not have shown or told you at the time. You really made an impact in my life. Your patience and the way you connected with your students was a huge reason why I continued to play in band through high school. You and my high school teacher (Mr. Fessinger) were my favorite teachers. I was lucky enough to run in to him about 5 years ago and tell him how much his education meant. I had a tough time in middle school and I always looked forward to your class. I hope you are doing well and it's awesome to see that your passion in music was passed on to your son. Thank you Mr Goodrum
Good day Robert, so good to hear from you. I do remember you! It has been a long time. Go to my website and click on contact when you have time and tell me what you've been doing in your life. I'm so glad that Mr. Fessinger and myself played an important role in your development. That's what it's all about in education. We are so proud of of both of our boys Jared and his wife and our oldest son Justin. Right now my wife and I are retired and we are just cheerleaders for you and other young people that are doing wonderful things. Great job lads, I have seen and met The Crusaders in the UK, and i think that they would all love your cover of this tune, perhaps you could do So far away by The Crusaders.
I would like to give you credit on the video. Can you give me contact information to put on the video for the credits? Thank you very much for allowing us to use your video, I'll send a link when it's completed.

super arme pour apaiser les esprits, les dirigeants devraient utiliser bien plus souvent ce moyen , très beau morceau bien interprété
My favorite Jr Walker and the All Stars song. Nice but the original is much better..
Go Navy 🇱🇷⚓️

Orchestrate this, so I can play it on classical
Doesn't have to be huge. Jazz is chamber music, right?
Face mask really dude? Except when playing the 🎷 sax?
His name was Winton Felton and not Wilton. lol.
His name is Wilton Felder ❤
I don't like talking ...never add to my playlists.
