    Thank you for the follow up video. I think that was a perfect analysis and conclusion. Fakes. Never ever buy a box of cigars on the street in Cuba. There is no reason to. So many LCDH outlets to choose from. Go in one and buy there.

    Thank you for this. It raises a very interesting subject, where can we buy absolutely genuine Cuban cigars. In the UK we pay probably the highest retail prices in the world so we’re always looking for the best deal. I’m always concerned I may get tempted into purchasing fakes and end up having a very bad and costly experience. Perhaps a videos explaining “Where to buy” would be good. Also outline potential pitfalls like customs issue would be very interesting. As always. Thanks for the content! Kit.

      We may have very high prices but Hunters & Frankau does a phenomenal job ensuring that we get top of the line Habanos. I can go to any shop on St. James’s street and leave knowing my Havana’s are top of the line.

      @@lukemilton8510top of the line? The U.K. is not even in the top-5 selling markets for Habanos SA. Logically it makes no sense that the U.K. gets priority over bigger & more lucrative markets and that’s proved by the myriad of new cigar releases that get to other parts of the world 6-12 months before they hit the English shores. But you have done well to buy into the EMS fairytale. St Jame’s street stock (EMS) guarantees authenticity, not superiority. However you can find authentic cigars from any legitimate source based overseas and at far more reasonable prices.

    Very interesting. Just as a clarification and maybe it’s already been addressed: 1. New Old Stock (e.g. in the automotive sector) refers to equipment ( in our case cigars ), released at the time it was originally launched but for some reason unsold/undistributed. If this were the case for the Supremos and Habanos has in stock a number of boxes, then it very well could decide to sell/distribute them at this point in time and that should not raise concerns. In the given instance, the box looks legit, with two issues, namely (a) the fact that they “look” young and (b) the band has the security feature launched at a later date (2017). Point (a) is to an extent subjective; I have 18 year old boxes (even ones with a “tight” fit) and they are still perfectly round. Therefore, the only point to be addressed and further investigated is point (b).

      Thank you very much for the comment. Depending on the humidity level some cigars tend to get squared in the box but usually after a long aging cigars tend to shrink it is a fact. especially with low humidity. in this case the cigars are not square.

      @@habanonews you are most welcome! I totally agree with your comment. Indeed if humidity was low they should remain round. Is that not the case with the Supremos at hand?

    Do you find any other brands being counterfeited besides Cohiba? Bolivar, Partagas, etc.

      @BradleyFitzhenry in today's market every brand is being counterfeited with high quality bands, prints and boxing. Cohiba is the most counterfeited cigars for sure but all other brands and styles are as well.

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  8 месяцев назад

      I initially thought that Cohiba was the only brand faked until I saw other fakes from ither brands. SwissCubanCigars are selling fake cigars so we have to accept the fact that no brand is protected, not even Vegueros!

    Laurent, thank you for the update. I wanted to ask you about fakes at airport Duty free shops. I bought a box of Cohibas siglo IV a few years ago at a Mexico airport and they turned out to be fake. Have you heard or known of similar cases? I am curious to know how common this is. Thanks again for the great content.

    • @digitalworldhd5636
      @digitalworldhd5636 8 месяцев назад

      Any Cuban Cigar you buy in Mexico outside of LCDH stores are high probability FAKES!. The Duty Free Shops in Mexico are not all actual Duty Free Shops, most operate within the airports under the pretext of Duty Free. Mexico cigar climate as far as real or fake and pricing is the worse in the world. Also don't EVER buy a cigar at the beach with a glass top.

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  8 месяцев назад

      There are unfortunately some shops around the world and particularly in Mexico, Panama, France and Switzerland that are selling fakes. There isn’t much we can do about it.

    What's your opinion on all the vintage cigars on Bond Roberts? Could they be new cigars put in an old box and marketed as "vintage"?

    • @digitalworldhd5636
      @digitalworldhd5636 8 месяцев назад

      I would never buy a aged box on Bond Roberts. Best policy buy them and age them yourself so you would never have to question the journey of the box. Always buy at LCDH stores.

    • @habanonews
      @habanonews  8 месяцев назад

      First Bond Roberts is not responsible for the quality of the cigars inside the boxes. I believe most cigars are genuine…
