Rich and Mike play Super VHS: The RLM Video Game!

- Seemingly out of nowhere comes a strange video game that takes place in the RLM studio. Normally we don't give attention to weirdos that take this much effort making something so utterly creepy, but this game is just so impressive, Rich and Mike had to play it and see what all the fuss was about.
The game is a free download. And before you ask, no we didn't pay anyone to make this for us. Nor were we paid to promote it.
evilempire.itc...
I love how Mike keeps turning to Rich whenever anything happens. He seems so excited about this. I didn’t know his cold, dead heart still had it in it.
Mike and video games reminds me of how my elderly mother was with them, which makes sense, what with him being a closeted elder himself.
She never thought she could play games, took many years and a lot of frustration finally teaching her, now's she's beaten Mount and Blade Warband.
Mike finding out Santa is real.
I've never seen Mike so utterly gleeful. The guy who made this game is an absolute genius
It's adorable, really. I was smiling through the whole video
Pacemakers are a fantastic invention! I'd like to know where Mike shops for his!
It’s like showing my grandpa a 3D model of the navy ship he served on
Nobody is liking it 1 more to preserve that magical funny number
@@xsquatchmojo8939this reply didn't age well
Alternate title: RLM is shocked to find out that people enjoy their content and don't only watch out of spite
😂
And yet they continue to make content to spite us.
We CAN do both, sir.
People actually enjoy this crap? I only listen because Rich reminds me of my dead wife
Very true, some of us watch to pretend we have friends who enjoy the same bizarre shit we do. Or to pretend we have friends.
Rich saying "is this official?" totally made the dev's day
It also builds a world where Mike would commission a video game and just not tell Rich, which I wholeheartedly believe to be true
@@mctheplaywrightthat’s what I thought was happening at first lol
Those 3D renders of Mike and Rich on the couch were uncanny.
Idk, was a bit uncanny valley for me. Real people don't look like that
It was the key to everything.
They didn't get the lighting quite right, and the textures are too low res and smooth compared to their real foldy wrinkly old skin.
real engine baby!
@@thegortrix Real Engine 5 from Epic Lives studios.
Unfortunately Real Life is leagues behind Unreal Engine 5's Lumen and Nanite. The LOD on the Rich character mesh was awful and had, like, three polygons at a draw distance of a meter. We need to see those grizzly 8k face textures with dynamic lighting.
The actual joy on Mike's face is like seeing an elderly man recalling a beautiful sunset before he dies.
so sad, but so true x'D
Like in Soylent Green.
Fittingly, watching an elderly man recall anything would bring Mike the same amount of joy.
This was a wholesome video why did you do this to me 😭
BRUH.
...bruh.
I was really hoping they'd play this, it's incredibly well done.
I was just thinking that you'd get a kick out of seeing them play this. Scroll down and there you are lmao.
previously recorded x vinesauce prerecorded collab
It made for an incredibly enjoyable Sunday Sauce experience. Glad to see it gave them as much life as it gave me.
Is you playing this on RUclips?
@@blakehorton654 Yeah, Vin played this on Sunday. I can't link videos on RUclips without my comment getting deleted, but it's the "Sunday Sauce #2" stream recording on the Vinesauce Full Sauce channel at about 11 minutes in.
"Is this something official that happened that nobody told me about?"
This is a very real possibility for Rich Evans. He knows how far Mike would go for a gag.
Ever since mike made Sergio into a real person, I don't blame him
It really speaks to how well the fan creator recreated their set
I'm really disappointed Jessi's feet weren't an unlockable bonus. :(
So, I saw this and downloaded the game to check it out. Turns out you can use the Space Cop Gun to shoot the lock off of a door and go outside. The only interactable object you can find outside (which is portrayed as a snowy, creepy wasteland, much like Milwaukee IRL) is Plinkett's Night Court tape. You can take that tape to the Plinkett House set and interact with the TV to get a Thank You message from the Dev. Suddenly turned this whole thing from kind of weird to pretty wholesome!
In the next version / update, Colin From Canada will be awkwardly inserted into every part of the game.
How strange. I think that Milwaukee is the greatest city in The Union.
@@spillanegottleib1681 the player can walk over his tail and see him react HILARIOUSLY.
@@spillanegottleib1681 haha! Yeah.

Best part is how they crashed the game before finding the night court tape, even in a video game they cant get it to play on Mr Plinketts TV.

this video gives off major "old couple relive their happiest memories" vibes with how Mike is acting.
Ends like every single time grandparents look at an old photo album. They show interest in th past for awhile, but then blaze through it so they can go get their gun.
that was a good part of the video
They don't make slide projectors anymore, so we need video games.
Cue the Plumwax inevitability of death video....
“Acting”
Mike has played more than one game! He was a master at 'Don't Shit Your Pants'.
The game was based on his "daily experiences"
Thank you RLM Loremaster
I love the co-op expansion, Don't Shit Your Pants Together
A master, yet, not undefeated.
He knows what an NPC is!
Mike looking at Rich for reactions and pointing at the TV like a 10 year old at a sleepover showing his favorite game to a friend
That’s just real friendship. I love seeing it.
Update: the dev added some quotes from this very video to the game download page. I particularly like this one:
"This is all wrong. You failed!"
- R. Evans, Milwaukee
You know, this feels really heartwarming.
I remember in the Picard review, Plinkett talked about how much Star Trek meant to people, and that people made recreations of the sets IRL or in some sort of simulator. And here we have some dedicated fan who spent who knows how long to make a celebration of what RLM has done and what they mean to them.
This is basically as close you can get to a holodeck recreation of the RLM studios!
I bet Mike would love to play this alone in a VR setting, so he can eat pieces of their set without feeling guilty about it
@@WanderingChin who wouldn’t love that

I love that Rich mispronounced "Rubly Gluvs" as "Rubber Gloves". Never change.
The look of pure sinister joy on Rich's face as he gets to simulate a rampage destroying what is essentially his and his friends lifetime of work is something magical to behold.
Wonder if that was Jay's edit.
Well they do it in real life every other week
I just wish more of the environment was destructible.
It’s foreshadowing 👀
In real life he's the one who tends to clean up the messes after, so I see the extra bit of glee there
The fact this is in the top 10 trending for gaming right now is amazing 😂
I can't imagine the pride the creator of this game feels when seeing the sparkle of joy in their jaded eyes. Mike genuinely looks happier in this video than he has in a while. That's got to feel nice.
It's a hell of a compliment to RLM, for sure.
Whoever made this is a huge, huge fan. So many references on that room
You never understood... why we did this? The audience knows the truth - the world is simple... and miserable... solid all the way through. But if you could fool them, even for a second, then you can make them wonder. And then you... then you got to see something very special. You really don't know? It was... it was the sparkle of joy in their jaded eyes
The Palpi laugh at Vampire Assassin is especially satisfying.
All his old partners in the nursing home have passed on. Even a veteran granny groper like Mike has his limits.
This is such a nice love letter to RLM and it's obvious how much care was taken in it. It feels like the summary for a long story of a bunch of hacks watching movies and I love it
feels great
I also luv how Mike and Rich correct little things that are different from the game
@@Naomi.Robertson Kind of begs the question why didn't the developer just ask RLM for photos? ...or did they?

It looks amazing. Nice texturing.
The only problem was that the gun should have been ultra-destructive. But that may have required a lot of work on physics and destroyable objects so it's totally understandable.

You guys missed the true ending! The clue is in the blaster description: "deals extreme damage to door locks"
I had a feeling, that line was oddly specific.
Well their game crashed, so who knows if they would have seen it or not otherwise.
First thing I noticed too! Cliffhanger ending!!!
Including Bloodlocks ?
They also missed nukie
mike constantly looking at rich and smiling really warms my heart. After all these years their marriage is as strong as ever.
I like how they don't even recognize their own joke website on the computer screen. Classic
I love the part that the game's blaster is more true to life than the real one they hold lol
when you make just, shit tons of content I imagine a lot of it just gets lost in the mix
They've been making content for over a decade, so it's understandable. If anything, it prove that their real love is movies. They had no trouble remembering those, even with Mike's early dementia
@@horusreloaded6387 lmao how often does the creator of a prop hold the actual prop in his hands and explain in detail how the video game adaption of his space gun is more accurate to the film than the prop from the movie in his hands
The player is unrealistically coordinated and has far too much control over their bodily functions for an RLM character, other than that it was beautiful.
Imagine hearing Rich's screams of pain with every step.
Or maybe a timer that ticks away until Rich dies from not getting his Diabetes medication, while you frantically search for the 50th tape.
