  • So. Yes I made a Bluey video and 'm not sorry about that. Seriously. The creators of Bluey didn't need to go so hard when they made this kids show. They didn't need to go so hard when they made 'The Sign'... but they did and I am thankful. Down with Peppa. Praise Bluey!

Seeing (good) Australian media being popular outside of Aus makes me so fundamentally happy. Plus that the show runners are keeping it so Aussie even after the popularity explosion, like I could see some producers asking to remove the super specific Aus references, so kids overseas could get it and not get lost in questions like, what on earth is a bilby or fairy bread? But instead we got a whole arse episode about pavlova and it’s so much damn fun.

This Has to be one of my favorite episodes of all time. Usually Bluey episodes just make me tear up a little bit. But this episode made me my mom and my sister, fall on, bawl your eyes out. We went through a lot of tissues. My favorite part is the ending. That’s the part that got me and my family. This is a really great breakdown and informational video. Keep up the great work.

The thing I love most about Bandit and Chili is they aren’t perfect. Bandit can be over competitive and a little insensitive at times. Chili doesn’t always set (or respect) boundaries when she should. If they were flawless, they would be impossible to relate to. Instead, parents can see their own flaws in some of the best parents on television, and can also see how Chili and Bandit apologise and try to fix their faults

I’m a 40yo single adult female without children. Bluey is one of the best shows. Sleepytime is a flipping masterpiece. In fact, the whole series is just freaking phenomenal. There are so few writers that can make you bust out laughing one minute then cry buckets of tears the next, all in 7min. Not only that, the music absolutely slaps, and the animation is top tier for a TV show. Bluey is such a treasure, and I’m forever grateful to Ludo and Australia for sharing such a wonderful show.

Thanks for making this, because I didn't know this episode existed. I just watched it and...that was really emotional. One thing I LOVE about Bluey is that you can NEVER really tell how an episode is going to end. I sure didn't, at least not until the very end. Also, that couple that purchased the house...come on, man!! The inconvenience and wasted money in that entire transition was just messy. I hope the Heeler family was fairly compensated. But, yeah, this was a fantastic episode. Also, I love the fact that there were SO MANY call backs to previous episodes. It made the world so cohesive and lively, like every episode was connected to every other episode...especially with Brandy. THAT actually made me tear up! I'm SO happy for her!
I wasn't keen on the idea of a Bluey movie, because it could either be great, or a disaster. But, after seeing this episode and the length that it was, I think they could pull it off. I'm onboard for it, now. I mean, I would have watched it, either way, but now, I'm kind of hoping they green light a feature length film. I also felt that series finale vibe. This felt like the end. It had a great run, but it felt like this episode was a close to a wonderful show. It was like they saw the Simpsons and realized that there was a time to bring a creation to a close before it gets...just bad. I would love another season, but I would totally respect it if they made a decision to end on a high note. I guess we'll see.

This episode was a masterpiece, a full-length MASTERPIECE and I think we can all agree our tissue boxes ran out immediately.
Now rewatching the special I can't help but notice some people are... not satisfied, while that's completely acceptable that made me reflect on something that is currently happening to our community.
People want to project themselves into the show.
It's no wonder those episodes that got exploration towards a deeper intended message are the most efficiently received; because it's relatable, because it's realistic, because it's hard to digest... but mostly, because they feel seen.
The sentiment of 'being seen' is gratifying, to finally have a show that broke the delimited barriers all through, to grant the desired desparity being contented by how SEEN this show has made us feel.
But... there's always a limit and I think a large percentage of the fandom are reaching it; "a happy ending is unrealistic and convenient" "life doesn't work that way" "so much foreshadowing for nothing"... This critiques are quite reasonable and I respect them fully, but there's something people tend to forget after the feeling of relating... This ain't your lives
I know it would have been interesting to show a darker-side of the coin, to fully experience this characters being completely wretched, for them to truly experience tragedy... but that's not what the show wants to convey.
I've seen the 'I Love You, You Hate Me' documentary and that made me reflect and compare the situation to the current actuality; Bluey started being an average show for children, another puddle on a continuous pond... that is until the show exhibited freshness... innovation and eventually UNIQUENESS.
But people wanted more, and that's when they start to project themselves on the screen; they want to enclose with something relatable to their experiences, they want to discover an authentic portray of family life... and when it's passing the line, they want to uncover THEIR LIVES
Happy endings have gone unpopular by how the world truly operates, how sometimes predicaments are intractable, how life can be pitiful... and they want to project THAT on their screens, I get it, I'm not the exception.
Yet again, they have to understand something: THAT'S ONLY A PATH; life can work on unpredictable ways.
Sometimes life can be a crippling mess, sometimes it's not
Sometimes life can suck, sometimes not
Sometimes life can be pitiful, sometimes it can be plentiful
Sometimes life gives you surprises, sometimes it takes away your hope.
That's how life is, unpredictable... maybe that wasn't the path some people wanted... maybe they wanted to perceive the bleakest path of the story; but sometimes it's just not the path they wanted to follow, and that's ok... Like Chilli once said "the world is a magical place" and it's the viewers job to grant our own individual perception to that message.

Yesterday I got some news that, while normally shouldn’t be a major thing or life-threatening, will most likely close doors in regards to what I’ll be able to do when I get older (for context I’m still in high school and already had big plans for my desired career and what I really want to do as an adult). I was heartbroken was so unsure of what I could do.
Watching The Sign again today with what I know now, this hit hard. Seeing the family and how they react really resonated with how I’m feeling right now, and the message it sends helps reassure me. Honestly I’m still kinda processing a bit, but it’s not the end.
That aside, this series freaking slaps - and no one can convice me otherwise lol.

To me, this is a "once in a lifetime" or "THAT generation's" show that’ll stand out among the crowd for hopefully, decades to come. I personally wanna rewatch this show throughout the rest of my life and see if/when certain episodes hit different. For example, as a single guy in my twenties with no kids or someone special, certain episodes won't hit me now like if/when I'm dating, getting married, having kids, raising kids, taking care of aging parents, or mourning the loss of family.

Honestly, I think that's a good thing (in terms of having that in a show). Not everyone is perfect, not everyone in an adult body acts like an adult all the time or has issues to work through. The level of care, consideration and love this show has though already far outshines the maturity and compassion that real life has had for many of us.
Much of the focus is the show is that people are people and can make mistakes, hurt others on accident and most importantly, regardless of their age or their position in social hierarchy, they can apologize when that happens. No one is perfect, but that line isn't used as an excuse for people to be terrible, it's meant to be a learning opportunity.

9:52 I actually think Chilli & Frisky are in their late 30s, whereas Rad, Stripe & Bandit are all in various stages of their 40s. We know the boys were all kids in the 80s but I actually think Chilli was 2 or 3 years younger in that flashback (then again Chilli insisted is wasn’t her) & given she doesn’t remember that while Bandit does, gives further evidence to suggest Chilli’s younger than her husband.
Not to mention Frisky & Rad want kids & while men don’t have to really worry about an expiry age date to have kids, women begin to approach that between the ages of 40-50 (sometimes even earlier) so to me, Frisky is still in her (late) 30s - meaning she still has a few years yet to have a child.
So yeah, to me Frisky has at least a few more years before she hits 40.

I loved the episode but the last minute pull out of the sale of the house felt forced because there's usually so much tied up in house buying that the endign felt unrealistic. Also surely bandit is now unemployed as he would have quit his old job and can't do the new one?

    • @tranatkikomi6873
      @tranatkikomi6873 25 дней назад

Even though they say he might have a “better job”, that might just be an easier way of putting it than “promotion” for the kids to understand. It’s possible he could still have his old job, he just turned down the promotion.
Also a lot of this show can be unrealistic because it’s seen from the perspective of the kids. Bluey and Bingo would have just seen their dad on the phone, then him ripping out the sign and the family hugging and crying together, going back inside, Chilli taking out the rug and then fish and chips for dinner. It’s like how in the series, there are random rooms that appear or disappear, corridors are made to be like they’re as long as the street themselves, etc. Bluey and Bingo wouldn’t care about or know about the paperwork behind the house no longer being for sale or how it worked out that way.
As for the sheepdogs thing, that’s more for the audience’s benefit. It explains where that call came from and why.
