Tuscon Cop Under Investigation After Wrestling Teenage Quadruple Amputee To The Ground

- TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - An explosive video, first obtained by KOLD News 13, shows a Pima County deputy’s run-in with a 15-year-old quadruple amputee.
The incident was recorded by another teen inside a group home in the Tucson area in September. The video was provided to KOLD by the Pima County Public Defender’s Office.
The 15-year-old, in a group home after being abandoned by his family, apparently kicked over a garbage can and verbally threatened a worker. That’s why the deputy was called to the home.
The eight-minute video begins with the deputy on top of the 15-year-old. The deputy wrestles the teen to the floor and the teen is heard shouting and swearing at the deputy.
The video also shows the arrest of the 16-year-old who was filming the interaction.
Both teens were arrested on disorderly conduct charges.
KOLD showed the video to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which did not know about it beforehand.
After watching it, the PCSD said it is beginning an internal investigation.
Joel Feinman, the Pima County Public Defender, was outraged when he saw the video.
“Men with badges should not be acting this way,” he said. “Men and women who do act this way should not have badges and guns.”
Feinman’s office said it is rare videos such as this make daylight.
Don't worry everyone. They investigated themselves and found themselves guilty of no wrongdoing.

That may have to do with ongoing medical expenses that the family cannot cover and the AZ state health system won't cover until the subject has absolutely no other resource to exploit, such as the family's future income.
I knew an impoverished blind man in AZ with serious medical problems that couldn't get coverage while he was married and his wife was working 2 part time jobs trying to get by.
The agency actually told him to get divorced and then they could help him.
He refused, of course, because he'd rather die than divorce his faithful wife.

Being a step kid that was raised by the elected county sheriff (in a different state) I 100% agree with your statement. This is a regular occurrence with some families of law enforcement "behind close doors".

This represents most of the experiences I had with police growing up. I was assaulted by police and falsely accused several times. The only defense I had were my words.

They have to make up a charge to arrest them. Just because they're arrested, doesn't mean it's legit and will stick. I have a feeling both of these arrests will go away. But I can't say for sure why the cops were there in the first place.

You are correct. The SCOTUS has ruled several times that police do NOT have a duty to protect, they only have a duty to uphold the law. Warren v District of Columbia, DeShaney v Winnebago County, Balistreri v Pacifica Police Dept.

I've said it many times. Cops convicted of any crime should get DOUBLE the sentence. They are held to a higher standard. Yes, I understand that most cops have lower than average I.Q. but if we're going to give them a badge and gun they need to be aware their actions could get them in double trouble.
