  • Henry Winkler has had an incredible career in Hollywood, and he's looking back on it all in his new memoir "Being Henry: The Fonz…and Beyond," which is out now. The actor joined Access Daily's Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover to talk about the book, his longtime friendship with Sylvester Stallone and what it was like moving to his next chapter after "Happy Days." Henry also shared the funny story of a time where he channeled the voice of his character Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli in order to get through a packed crowd! Plus, he reacted to some warm words from his pal Adam Sandler.

In 1991, a couple of friends and I went to see the Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast at the theaters next to Universal Studios Hollywood. We’re sitting there waiting for the previews to start and we see Henry Winkler coming down the isle with a couple of kids (We all assumed that those were his kids) on their way to their seats. Every one who was seated started whispering. One guy sitting in the back yelled out “HEY!” doing his best Fonzie impression. I just remember going 🤦🏻‍♀️ because I’d read that while Mr. Winkler was thankful to be able play the Fonz, he was afraid of being typecast because of that role.

I used to teach Henry Walkers great great niece to sew. She said, he’s so nice he lets you sit in his expensive cars. Her mom said, he’s the nicest person she ever meet. Which is so cool.

Still a great person who brought so much happiness to people through his work. Thanks for the laughs and confidence building as Coach Klein character and Fonzie. I loved the Tulsa King show and all Stallone’s work. Bob call Henry fans will watch. John Rich and Sandler and this show’s hosts have always been fun to watch.

Henry is one of those actors whose appearance in his most famous role differs so much from his real self that he is hardly recognizable out in the public.

If they were real people? The Fonze would give Rocky Balboa a run for his money in a fight. But both fictional characters would end up being buddies at the end and become the Italian Dynamic Duo.
