I could have sworn I suggested this to you or to someone in a video on this subject before. Either way this is exactly how I would do it too. It’s a perfect story that doesn’t need to have a ton of back story to it and it’s all still interesting by itself as well as brings the exact characterization Superman needs to exemplify, who what and how Superman’s.
I agree that they need to build up Clark’s supporting cast and rogues. I’d be down for either Metallo and Parasite to be the main villains from secret origin like you said or introduce Manchester black and the elite and show the fallout of their actions and why the world needs Clark as we haven’t seen a heroic Superman since MOS. Also while I don’t want Brainiac for MOS 2, I think they should build up to him as a big threat in later movies
I love idea of Manchester Black being the villain in the sequel. Can give Superman a run for his money but isn’t world-ending.
@@rohitiyer285 He’s also from earth and has some pretty unique powers. So yeah, I think he checks all boxes for a pretty great villain to be used for the sequel

I hope DC can eventually end up with Lex as president. maybe Luther uses the sweep stakes as a way to build up popular support, ending with Superman finding out Luther created Parasite and metallo but not the people

I'd love to see an adaptation of Action Comics #775 like Superman vs the Elite (the best Superman animated movie by far) and call it Superman: The Man of Tomorrow. Manchester Black is the perfect villain/anti-hero villain to contrast and show who Superman is and as a response to all the evil Supermen and anti-heroes popping up right now. He and his team would be relatively smaller scale and the conflict is ideological, on if Superman is outdated or still the Man of Tomorrow. Heh, it could even tie into the whole Black Adam thing going on. The world needs that Dreams speech at the end.
I do love Secret Origin too, and that moment where Clark befriends Jimmy for the first time on the Daily Planet's roof is perfect. Not as dramatic as preventing someone from jumping like in All Star, which would be great to see too, but we see Clark actually talk and connect to the ordinary people he saves as Superman. Parasite and Metallo could show up as side villains for sure.
Edit: Lol yeah they can't do Ending Battle as a whole but I can see them adapting the ending with Manchester Black as an add on. Show Clark standing by his morals even as Lois is killed and he's heartbroken. Pretty important considering what BvS, ZSJL and Injustice kept implying he'd go evil with her dead one way or another, and/or he's the only reason he's human.
If i made Man Of Steel 2 i think it should be about Superman stopping global disasters and teaching New Justice League members not to make the same mistakes He did in MOS and BvS but do to Superman fixing Society He gets targeted by The Intergang thus defeating them and by the end gets noticed by Darkseid and have Him be the main villain of BvS

All Star Superman could work as a swan song for DCEU Superman but definitely not something to adapt right now.
Intergang would be a really cool "out of left field" kind of threat for MoS2. Especially if they lean into the aristocrat and occult side of it. I think a True Detective (season 1) style Superman movie would be lit.
Agreed, as long as it's not the same Intergang from Black Adam that couldn't catch a kid on skateboard.

I was going to make a video on how to do a proper Superman movie, but you pretty much mirror all of my thoughts. Perfectly expressed.
I'm totally on board for a soft reboot of Henry Cavill's Superman. Make him a person, not a symbol. Give him an interesting and unique supporting cast. Make the villain have a clear motivation. And make the audience feel comfortable in Metropolis without making everything apocalyptic and world-ending. I want DC's Spiderman Homecoming for a sequel, not Old Man Logan.
I personally would really love man of steel 2 to be a adaptation of superman rebirth with Clark and Lois being great parents to there son Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self because that would be really awesome and tons of fun to see my favorite character be adapted in live action at least in my opinion, but if we can't do that then maybe we can do a adaptation of Superman what so funny of truth justice and the American way which has henry cavill superman fight against Manchester black and the elite but we can also add in atomic skull in the movie similar to the animated movie we got a few years ago which I thought was fantastic in my opinion.

My three story ark without tons of detail would simply be: Secret origins, Brainiac, up, up, and away.

Would you say it would be too early for a “What’s so funny about truth, justice, and the American way” story for the second movie? I would say a villain like Manchester Black would be great because he would be like modern day Superman haters who complain about Superman’s motto and say there is no room for a bright hero in this world.
Would love to see that story adapted down the line but it's definitely too early for that right now. A fundamental part of that story is the difference in how Superman stops threats compared to The Elite. So far in the DCEU Superman has killed Zod, Killed Doomsday and lasered off Steppenwolf's horns, so with all that I don't think Superman is currently in the position to tell The Elite their tactics are too brutal. But, with one or two movies you can show Superman grow as a character and learn from what he's done in the past and then you could adapt What’s so funny about truth, justice, and the American way.
I would like to see them adapt the story arc Superman Vs The Elite.

No we want a continuation of Man of Steel and the Snydercut. A soft reboot would pretty much just be what they have been doing that DC fans have been hating, ignoring the audience's want to continue and in movies retcons just comes off as wrong.
Probably would love to see lobo, Hank Henshaw, or Bizarro. What are your thoughts since we will see Zod again in flash movie and Kara will be in it too?
DC messes Super Man up so much that the return of Henry Cavill almost feels like reclaiming the copy right to Spider-Man. Man of Steel 2 sounds more like Henry Cavill: Homecoming
They need a flashback with Pa Kent where he explains he was on drugs when he told Clark he maybe should have let all those children drown. Joking aside we need to find a balance where Superman can stay grounded but isn't a morose bleeding-heart. Cringe or not the "I'm a huge fan of justice" line really gave Superman some humanity. That said they need to remember Superman is just a man, not a god and they have to stop it with the Christ metaphors.

@@Aaaa-br3ty Hard to explain in a single comment but essentially look to the comics and adapt that. Stuff like Geoff John's Superman & The Legion of Superheroes, Superman Ending Battle, and American Alien all do great jobs of getting the reader to sympathize and relate to Superman.
I don't know about you, but I despise man of steel 1.
Let's be honest, Zack Snyder really it's the best person you can find to build up lively and lovable superheroes. I feel like his storytelling is so so much worse than his animation and visual talents
