  • Medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder 2019: Sublocade: Addiction Specialist Amber Hollingsworth talks with Marc Burrows (Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist with A New Crossroads), about Sublocade (a once a month injection of suboxone).
Amber explores the newest innovation in Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorders.
Initially, methadone was used to treat individuals dependent on Opiates. Then came Suboxone (partial agonist). Suboxone comes in tablets and/or strips and must be taken daily (sometimes multiple times daily).
There is now a monthly injection of Suboxone. It's called Sublocade.
Marc Burrows (from New Crossroads) explains how the new medication works, explores the pros and cons and even discusses costs and insurance options.
