Enjoyed it guys! My wife and I hiked that park 2 years ago while living in Goyang. Fond memories of getting lost, scrambling over rocks, and getting passed by "mature" Koreans. Keep up the good work!
wonderful video...loved the large maple-tree-like leaves, and of course, the excellent food vists. will watch more later, keep filming guys. best steve from Leadville, colorado
you guys rock!!! love your vids. love how you both love food and the way ya'll describe the tastes! Food, my number 1 passion, combined with travel... my other number 1!! Thanks Audrey and Sam. Two thumbs waaay up!!
Haha, I'm now getting back at him. I've been wearing his new pair of Crocs, which are so comfortable, and meanwhile he's stuck with my running shoes. Oh to be the same shoe size... ;)
By chance, I saw a video of Samuel and Audrey. It was so impressive to see the two people hiking on Bukhansan Mountain and eating pancakes(pajeon) and makgeolli. Hotteok is my favorite snack and I enjoy it every winter season. ^^ The sad thing is that the Korean subtitles are very much different from what you say. Maybe I think you used Google Translation because you don't know Korean well. Anyway, it's all good and nice to see you trying. You must be living in Canada now, right? I hope you will continue to love Korea and introduce Korea to many people. I will also have a deep interest in Canada and try to know many things.
Thank you very much! That hike was one of my favorite things I did while staying in Seoul. We just recently did a newer Korean series from Seoul, Busan and Daegu if you'd like to check it out: ruclips.net/video/_sMsw6vHvxE/видео.html
Just subscribed! I feel so relaxed while watching your videos - the way I want to feel whenever I'm traveling. I hope you visit my country soon! I'd be glad to tour you around the Philippines. :)
Yeah that makgoli, when you first taste it, you think to yourself, hey this isn't as strong as I thought, then several drinks later you get plastered! LOL haemul pa-geon and soon-du-bu combo! Sam, if you are giving that high of a praise on the haemul pageon, man I want that! now you got me salivating! I was looking for the name of the restaurant on the wall or somewhere but only saw a quick look at the menu and the name of the makgeoli posted on the wall, lol. Love the line "Christmas in a Cup!" LOL
Thank you! I know what you mean with regards to the Makgoli! LOL, It deceptively sneaks up on you ;) Oh that place was so good. I regret not jotting down the name of it. I don't think we would have survived that hike without the great food/drink at the end ;)
You guys I am thinking of coming to South Korea during the spring and I would love to join you for a hike if you have me :D I am planning to hike Seoraksan, Bukhansan, Taebaeksan, Songnisan, Jirisan and Naejangsan if possible in one month :D maybe it is a bit ambitious hahhaha
That is awesome to hear! Sounds like a great place. I'm not exactly sure when we'll be back to Korea but if we're around at the same time we'd be up for a hike.
I also don't understand why but Korean elder people are pretty serious about being equipped with quality gears. I think Canadian company such as Mountain Equipment can make a big success if they open a store in Seoul.
Great video! Planning on hiking down there next week and wondering what were the actual places you ate in this video. If they are still open hope to hit them up :D
THanks! That is cool you'll do the hike soon. To be honest we forget the name of the place but it is literally at the entrance of the mountain coming from the station. You'll notice a few of these restaurants and they all pretty much serve the same dishes. I'd choose a place that looks busy with local hikers.
fairly new viewer of your channel and trying to catch up on all your korea videos. Do you guys consider Korea your home base in between your world travels?
Thank you! We don't currently have a base but we've spent two separate one month stints in Seoul this year and plan to be back in Korea again next year for a couple more months.
Vamos a ver!
I got a travel guide to Southkorea and really wanna visit Seoul . I hiked in Austria already but never in Korea , I think it will be a great experience
Hello Samuel and Audrey, which dates did you make this video? Me and my girlfriend are hoping to catch the fall foliage and do some hiking, but we can’t make it to Seoul till mid to late November. Cheers
Thanks! That is cool to hear. If I remember correctly we did this in early November. I think going a bit later in the month will still be a great experience.
We did this hike in the fall. I believe early November. Late Sept to October and late April to the end of May are our favorite times to visit Korea. Such nice weather. Warm but not hot.
It was a solid half day of hiking, but there are so many different circuits to choose from. Everything is labelled according to length and level of difficulty so you can always decide how much you want to hike once you get there.
Looks like a real great adventure! Love your video Samuel and Audrey! You should join Thriver next year, too and experience some real cultural immersion. It's a way to travel and grow around the world. You may visit their website thriverworld.com to know more about it. :)
You never hike alone in South Korea, always plenty of others too, I like that.
Beautiful views. I truly enjoy those nature themed videos. Good job, guys!
Thank you! We'll have to try and make more of these when we can.
thank you for taking us on this amazing hike! I enjoyed it a lot, it makes me feel like I'm there lol
Thank you! We highly recommend hiking in Korea for anybody who visits :)
Enjoyed it guys! My wife and I hiked that park 2 years ago while living in Goyang. Fond memories of getting lost, scrambling over rocks, and getting passed by "mature" Koreans. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! LOL, that basically describes exactly what we experienced ;) It was so much fun though and such a nice escape from Seoul.
wow!.....what a beautiful place!...love the fall colors!
Thank you! It is our favorite time to be visiting.
makguli and pa jeon is great combination always ..&
Forever! :)

Thank you! Totally agree :)

Thank you very much! Hiking is really an underrated thing to do in Korea especially for visitors.

Woohoo, foodies unite! Those are our two passions as well, though it's hard to say which is first! ;)
stunningly beautiful park. another great video, guys.
Thank you! I don't think a lot of people realize how easy it is to be out in nature from Seoul center.
Wow looks amazing guys. Good effort guys. So many beautiful colours. Sam give Audrey's shoes back. hehehehe
Haha, I'm now getting back at him. I've been wearing his new pair of Crocs, which are so comfortable, and meanwhile he's stuck with my running shoes. Oh to be the same shoe size... ;)
hahaha nice. I think you won there. :)

I am looking forward to newer series. I will check soon.
Great vids...thanks for sharing guys... love the part where audrey is sliding =)
That looks like fun! I'd love to visit there when I go on vacation in Seoul this Fall.
That sounds great. I highly recommend it. It makes a nice escape from the bustle of the city.
Oh my goodness how gorgeous! Looks like a wonderful place and cold LOL
Thank you! It sure did get chilly in Korea but moving around outside oddly enough helped us to warm up ;)
Lovely, I am going to do this on coming Weekend. got motivated after watching your video. cheers.
That is great to hear! It is a beautiful place to go hiking!

It sure was!

Hahaha...they'd likely do better in Korea than in Canada ;) My first and second travel backpack were from Mountain Equipment.
Samuel and Audrey I love their backpacks. I'm still keeping one that I bought 10 years ago.
wonderful report
Thank you! We sure had a great time and some much needed exercise :)

It looked like Korean seafood pizza.
-40 degrees C. = -40 degrees F.
Yeah, the seafood pajeon in Korea is just awesome. This place did an amazing job. Easily one of the best (if not) I've ever had.
Hi. May i know what date you went to Korea?
We did this hike in the fall. I believe early November. Late Sept to October and late April to the end of May are our favorite times to visit Korea. Such nice weather. Warm but not hot.
where is colder, Korea or Canada???
Most parts of Canada are colder than Korea but not everywhere. A cold day in Korea when it is say -10 or -15 is bone chilling cold.
All praises to Allah for creating great scenery
Hi! May I know the exact date you went to bukhansan? Thanks
It would have been in early November.
How long it takes to hike
I would give yourself 3-4 hours to do it leisurely.
Hey! Approximately how long did you guys take for the whole hike?
It was a solid half day of hiking, but there are so many different circuits to choose from. Everything is labelled according to length and level of difficulty so you can always decide how much you want to hike once you get there.
i like how audrey preferred the unhealthier pancake lol
Of course! 😋
Gooood
