As much criticism as the gameplay for the batmobile got, hearing Batman say "evening the odds" will always be a core memory when I played this game.

Personally, there's that AND the whole scene in Ace Chemicals where Batman is ready to sacrifice himself to reduce the blast of the explosion. That is peak Batman for me, ready to *really* give his 100% for the mission. No matter how many times I see it, when I start to think where his mind must be going to as he's saying "Goodbye Alfred", coupled with the fantastic music, the sound-design, it still hurts my throat from containing manly tears.
All that immediately followed by the Jumpscare, which I'm sure got at least 90% of us all the first time.

As a game mechanic it's not that bad. It was just WAAAYYY overused. And then there's that darn Deathstroke boss fight...
so what happened at the end? Joker killed Batman??
Even where your camera is pointed is entirely accurate to Bruce's priorities in any scene, this is so engaging compared to normal playthroughs and the focus and commitment to the character is beyond commendable.

Incredibly done, you had me fully drawn in the whole time. This is absolutely my preferred way to play any game, trying to be as accurate to the world and character as possible. I really wish there were more playthroughs of games like this.

I'm confused regarding these eyes. I'm assuming they are lenses on top of his eyes, but then why are they blinking ?
And if they're not lenses, then they shouldn't be white ..
Any (rational) explanation ? other than "it's a game / it looks cool" ?

@@anonymususer1728Batman feeds off of fear. Most elements of his suit are meant to mess with criminal’s heads. The white eyes make him seem less human. As for the blinking, that’s just an animation that was already in the game, so there was no way to get rid of it.

I don't normally watch playthroughs because I can usually just get through the games myself but once I saw that white eyes mod, I clicked on this video so fast! We need more scenes like this in future Batman movies, I feel like they always give us something good but not the whole package deal

The combat in this is a perfect example of just how little you need plot armour for bats to be untouchable. With his equipment, just a moment's thought is all it takes; a smoke bomb here, an explosive distraction there, they never know what hits them.
Exactly. That's what I'm trying to make clear to those who haven't opened a single comic book.
It's ironic you say that about Batman, the character with the most plot armor.
Well the thing is he does *have* plot armour, but that's an artifact of how he's often written. If you handle him well he doesn't *need* it.

He just needs the situation to be extremely convenient for him, like for example in 59:40, a bunch of unarmed mercenaries, without any firearms, convenient, right ? There's no place for Batman to hide and take 1 by 1 so they put a bunch of unarmed mercenaries.

You got me hooked from the very first dive. Grappling instead of gliding right away. It was a small detail but it had me hooked! It just looked badass. I usually glide after diving but the small unexpected move made me feel like I was watching the real Batman in action!

I've noticed that the thing there is *least* of in this playthrough is drawn out hand-to-hand fights. Only when necessary. You don't spend 5 minutes on pure countering and martial arts when a room is full of enemies. This is a gadget and stealth heavy playthrough.
Not sure if you'd want to see drawn out hand to hand fights but fair enough
Imagine if Rocksteady spent 6 years developing a cutting edge single player Batman sequel to this game instead of that live service trash. Oh, what could have been.
This game is still beautiful 8 years later. For anyone wondering Knight is still running on Unreal Engine 3.

I never realized that was Jonathan Banks doing the opening voice-over. Also I just realized that despite all the times Batman says "I'll send someone to pick you up" or the like in these games, I don't remember him actually ever doing it, heh.
I never ended up getting into the challenge rooms in Arkham Knight like in Asylum and City. Somehow the fact that they're presented as "virtual" takes away part of the fun.

That's essentially what happened in Arkham Asylum, he came onto the island without most of his tools (for security) and without knowledge of the plans developing in the background
no mesh shaders, no dlss, no FG, no FSR, and no demanding graphic card , just a well optimised and beautifull game, that era is over
Hey man I loved this, its like watching a comic book in action since theres so much thought put into the movement and pacing outside if the cutscenes. Little details like moving the Batmobile into position for the next obstacle throughing a bomb through one rooftop window then jumping through a different one. Good shit

For a character that uses lethal fighting skills and break bones as often as he can , Batman never consciously killed anybody. That's way he will never kill Joker etc. Yet his offensive weapons on the Batmobile and other vehicles are deadly and throughout movies, comics and games he shot at a lot of enemies and vehicles. Here he presumably killed several enemies in this armored cars ; or were they drones? He supposed to be better than the thugs he play with like their his food on a plate..
This video deserve more views, the time it takes to plan all this out.
