Absolutely, especially in the face of his staff being disbelieving. Many people doubt what they've seen if their peers don't agree. Also great to go out and check her car.... maybe just to confirm his suspicions but perhaps in the back of his mind he wanted to be able to provide the vehicle details to police if she left before they arrived (ie in same car as they were hunting or had found a new car and needed to update the APB).
Isn't that horrible? If she bought expensive cars and jewelry and went on exotic vacations, that would make sense but to just gamble it all away? Ludicrous. I watch the show Hoarders a lot and some of the hoarders have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on thrift store items think they had real value. One woman inherited either $40,000 or $400,000 and totally wasted on junk. She didn't fix up her home. She didn't buy a car. She just spent it all on junk. She was addicted to shopping and hoarding just like Lois was addicted to gambling.
@@mildredpierce4506 yeah I totally understand drug addiction, as a recovering heroin addict myself it's clear how much physically addicting drugs change your brain chemistry and make you a slave to getting more of the substance to not get sick from withdrawals that make you want to die, but to be addicted to something like gambling? I just don't get the appeal, that they can piss off thousands of dollars in a day for little to no reward. Even if they win, doing heroin feels better than a lotto win, so I don't understand what "euphoric reward" in their brain makes them continue to keep gambling so foolishly

@@iamV10010 Yeah that's exactly why I don't believe her. I can understand depression, I truly do. I could even buy if someone said that to you after an attempt you might kill them, but then to go on and kill someone else to steal their identity? And then to be obviously planning to do it to someone else after that? We know she's capable of killing someone who didn't do any wrong to her. If there was a history of people saying her husband was awful or abusive, sure, but unless I missed it there's none of that.
Pam and I were neighbors for about a year and a half in Virginia and I remember hearing about this when it happened. She was a very friendly and approachable person and I have several good and funny memories of her. I only wonder how did she think she would get away with it she knew eventually they would find the body in the hotel and identify the woman immediately calling bs on whoever uses her cards or trying to impersonate her and how did no one in the hotel hear a gunshot

Its just because The States are full of crazy people, in my country people rarely do murders. For the record, I don't at all buy her story, at least I don't buy that the argument was about staying with relatives. She tried to essentially legally own her sister to commit financial fraud, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that argument was most likely about, if there even was one. I also don't buy that he gave her a loaded gun to push her to use it on herself. Earlier in their marriage he _saved_ her from an attempt, why would he do such a 180? Who would give their spouse a loaded firearm in the middle of an argument? Why would he even use a handgun for the bluff when her original attempt was via OD? Why did she immediately go on the run and start shooting more people to usurp identities?
I completely agree with you. I didn’t buy any of her Bullshit either. There’s no way in hell that a husband who’s in a full blown heated argument with his wife would turn around and give her a loaded gun while egging her on to go ahead and do it. No way! I don’t buy that for a minute!

@Bob Trenwith Most of us know it had more to do with the media. Once every news station and media outlet was covering the story, *they* ran the killer off the streets.
Listen I'm not saying the police are bad. They did well arresting her but when they make the public announcement after they never say "we have to thank Ben for his help in recognising the suspect it was with thier assistance we caught the criminal" yano the public do help the police a lot and some people do a better job than them. But again well done to the police who took action and caught up to this waste of oxygen
@Bob Trenwith Wth?! You don’t think police sometimes take credit even when it isn’t deserved? I can think of many cases but the one that stands out to me and has really always bugged me was the Unabomber case! They constantly patted themselves on the back for catching him and regularly told the public about all the man hours that went into that investigation but in reality he was only caught when the brother stepped forward. The police weren’t even close and rarely attributed the arrest to the brother. This happens all the time! That said I don’t fault police at all and i fully support them but I also can acknowledge that they frequently take credit for captures when really they were utterly lost until someone from the public helped out.
@Bob Trenwith That’s like saying if there was no criminal involved, there would be no crime! We’re talking about police taking credit undeservedly sometimes.

Also great to go out and check her car.... maybe just to confirm his suspicions but perhaps in the back of his mind he wanted to be able to provide the vehicle details to police if she left before they arrived (ie in same car as they were hunting or had found a new car and needed to update the APB).
I get sick to my stomach when I think about pissing away that much money.
Who would give their spouse a loaded firearm in the middle of an argument? Why would he even use a handgun for the bluff when her original attempt was via OD?
Why did she immediately go on the run and start shooting more people to usurp identities?
Agree. I def don’t believe he taunted her to kill herself
Yes I suspect a thief and a murderer is also quite possibly a liar to boot.
Exactly.
I completely agree with you. I didn’t buy any of her Bullshit either. There’s no way in hell that a husband who’s in a full blown heated argument with his wife would turn around and give her a loaded gun while egging her on to go ahead and do it. No way! I don’t buy that for a minute!

So Lois decided to completely forget she was a mother and grandmother ? What a great daycare owner operator , imagine if your kids were looked after in her daycare !
Time to check them for scars from having a kidney removed...
I went to her daycare a few times as my mom and her daughter were friends since they were younger. Luckily (I think), I don’t remember much of it hahah
Lois' date at the bar where she was captured, has to be the most chill guy ever.
Thought this one started in Minnesota, it still managed to work in both Florida and Texas.
I really love all these crime documentaries. However, it makes you cynical and paranoid. I keep wondering how many other people in my life who seem normal are really criminals or even murderers.
It took me years to realize I was dating a sociopath. Glad I got out

Same. My BFF was approached by an ex-pro boxer at his condo in Chicago a few years ago. The boxer was just making small talk, but my BFF felt something was off, so didn’t go back to his place. My BFF is a well built mixed dude in the comedy scene, so he simply made an excuse about going to an open mic. My BFF exchanged numbers with the dude to get him off his back before he left. The guy kept incessantly texting my friend looking for any excuse to meet up. My BFF isn’t lgbtq, and this dude clearly wanted more than just drinks, thing was the guy lived in his building and towered over my friend, plus after doing some digging the guy had previously been arrested for assaulting a woman. Anyway, fast forward to a month ago when my BFF and I were joking about the time he almost got abducted by that pro boxer. This led us to googling the guy. Turns out the dude admitted to murdering an ex-runway model in spring of this year. CRAZY.

I understand that an addiction to drugs can kill the person using, but a gambling addiction killer just blows my mind. Ace content as always Mike. 🏴 Nikki x
As a recovering opiate addict, I hear ya. I run into gambling addicts who say its the same thing. Im sorry but there is no heroin withdrawls to deal with if they dont get to scratch some tickets.
Many years ago, I worked with a gambling addict in a bank , of all places. He was a manager, and would take 50k out of the safe on a Friday, hoping he would win it back with extra, so he could replace it in the safe and no-one would notice. Needless to say, it didn’t work, and he had to go to the big house for a long time.
@@philtanics1082 jesus even addicts misunderstand other addicts dismissively. There is a very physiological discomfort in gambling addicts, and given its connectivity to pathways involved in OCD, ADHD, AUtism and even restless leg sydrome disordered processing the compulsion can be very insistent in its reminder. I've seen gamblers itch, pace and self-harm to substitue the self-soothing of gambling. Not to mention, drugs are a huge part of it for a lot of gamblers. I think slots pplayers are different from poker players are different from horse racing wagerers. Imagine the betrayal of this whole family by this woman just so she could go play the slots. It’s amazing that she wasn’t revealed as a sociopath earlier. Absolutely no empathy or care for anyone but herself
I stopped gambling the day I watched Louis Theroux, Gambling in Vegas. After being shown around the Vegas Hilton he turned to the owner and said something like, "you didn't get the money to build this by handing out winnings." Boom.

An almost perfect case study of how, once that red line of killing another human has been breached, killing again can seem pretty straightforward.
She didnt snap, I bet she planned this over a long time

@@PutinsMommyNeverHuggedHim

I doubt she planned it. It looks like she was being impulsive. She did a super sloppy job of both the murders. Someone who had been planning it would have known better. @@Trollika_Devi Very True, I think that re thinking it she may have just shot him in impulse and just figured she'd ride it out till the wheels fell off- she must have been a bit sadistic or had a violent streak to kill that other women too...I guess she figured her second victim had money she could use to fund her habit for a bit longer...its just a really really sad story all the way around....your right tho she didnt dispose of the bodies or anything she did a shit job as far as having any chance at all of getting away with it

This just gave me so many chills. My mother used to live alone in Padre Island. She's in her 60s, but can pass for 50s. And she used to have long blonde/white hair. Watching this just made me insanely thankful that she moved away from that, because she would have been a perfect target for this killer. Oh my God, this scares me.
"My fathers murder was because of my mother's unchecked mental issues." Aaaaand... The embezzlement? Theft? Second murder?
We’ve had one murder, aye
But what about second murder?
A mentally sound person doesn't behave this way. I guess the question should be would she have done this if she wasn't an addict? It doesn't make her behavior any less deplorable...but it's worth considering.
@@AveryCreates you could apply that logic to any crime. All of her actions were premeditated and well thought out, she didn't just snap.
@@AveryCreates just being an addict doesn’t make you a convincing killer. Addicts really strung out my kill someone in the moment of an intense high or low but they sure as shit don’t plan complicated murders and stolen identity! The way some people treat their family - and how the courts sometimes help them in exploiting them. Then, when it comes out, "Ooops! Sorry!" Nobody's responsible, and a vulnerable, unemployable person finds themselves penniless.
Yeah, I feel for her sister. Lose your father, marriage falls apart, and then receive abuse and gaslighting from your sister as she drains you for every penny you have.
@@kahmad9545 That's what most convinces me her story about her husband was bs - that ruthlessness and calculation. Killing him gave her a new source of funds - and when that was at threat, she just got more and more cold-blooded. I think she was genuinely having a grand old time on the run.
What she did to that poor woman must have left her sister feeling that... at least she had got out with her life After surviving that suicide attempt, I suspect nothing much really mattered anymore :-(

Cop: "we ran a killer off the streets"
Reality: manager of a bar recognized Lois, called the cops.
Omg I know right! It annoys me so much when the police take credit for capturing a criminal, when they had no involvement in the finding of them. I've seen this on a few documentaries it does my nut in! Typical police ey always want to be hailed a hero for doing jack shit
