Amd switched the design of newer vega apu's in 4000 and up ryzen, so a good vega 8 is almost the same speed as older vega 11. The really great ryzen apu's are probably coming with 6000 gen, with the possibility of usb4/thunderbolt 4 equivalent, new rdna 2 graphics apu's, and ddr5 support.

Have to up the TDP, seeing as the temps are well under control in the mid 50s and 60s. So using the Ryzen APU Tool, you could bump it up to 45W, maybe even 50W if temps aren't terrible. That should offset the power draw issue between the CPU and Radeon 8 iGPU, since there'd be enough to share without compromising performance.

when a game is running you can open up the windows task manager and set the games CPU affinity. This'll allow you to limit how many cores the game has access to. It'd be interesting to see if limiting GTA5 to just 4 cores if it'd improve the game by allowing more power budget to the GPU.

Laptops with 5800HS are available. AMD said their Cezanne U series on Ultrabooks won't be a priority over Cezanne H series that's paired with dGPUs going into bigger laptops.

Is this the 455 or 435? Description is different than in the video. Wanna order one tonight, but couldn't really find the differences between those 400 numbers.

Now imagine if the Radeon 8 GPU had the bandwidth of a dedicated GPU.

They would only be about 10% faster.

doesnt look too great for the desktop variant of this chip, im still happy with my desk mini with a 3400g 3d mark time spy score 1200 , which isnt brilliant but its quiet, low power and plays almost everything, as long as it is not a very demanding title.
I have always been a bit gutted that they cut the vega cores with these new apus, when it must be easier to increase them with the 7nm process, integrated graphics should be getting close to 1650s or 5500s by now. next gen needs navi cores and more of them, no more cheeping out amd.

Hope they finally switch to Navi next. Perhaps that way they'll finally get Fireflight-level performance in a mainstream processor that way.

I've been ready to move on from Vega cores on the GPU side forever. The CPU clearly isn't the issue.
