I said so at the time.. Nurse's contract is horrific, and would badly hamper the team down the road. TA DA! He's a 4.5 -5.5 mill D man at best. He took a few amazingly immature penalty's in the Playoffs, but so did a number of Oilers. They let Kostin walk when they could have signed him for 2 mill, and way overpayed Nurse and Campbell, and lost Bugstad because of that. Yet fought to sign Mcloud?? Oilers are now weaker by far then last year even. Just Brutal regression.
Buddy you’re so lost lol. First off, the d market was inflated when Nurse signed we had no choice or let him walk. Mcloed is more talented than Kostin at the same price. Bjugstad wanted money, can’t afford him when we needed to sign a winger and Bouchard. Campbell was a gamble in an off season that had little to no goalie options.
@@Turtle9775 Amazing. "The market was inflated"... So in your mind, when the market is way inflated is a good time to overpay a D man by about 4 mill a year and then wonder how that hurt the team for years and years after cap wise. Interesting reasoning. But what a smart person would have done is let him walk and got 2 solid vet D men in for that same money or less. Kostin was one of forwards this team had with any physicality at all, and they were battered around last year by Vegas even with him. Without him they are are now right back to being a powder puff soft team. If they had let Nurse walk, they would not now be losing Kostin and Bjugstad. But you didn't think of that did ya, because your so smart. And picking up Campbell was just flat out really stupid. Difference tween you and me, Is I said all this over a year ago.)
They lost because Skinner was not ready for the starting roll and Campbell was a disappointment. Anyone knows if you don’t have trust in your goalies you start playing fragile and play a different game when you see easy goals go in. The Oilers had the best record since January and that was because Skinner was playing with confidence and he admitted that he got real nervous playing in his first playoffs as a starter. 😮
They lost because they wer etired, keep play 11-7 and letting Connor and leon suck all the ice time for records.... Same goes for Boston chasing a pres. cup points record... manage the team ....don't let the players run the team....SIMPLE
Look CONNOR IN THE EYE AND GO TELL HIM YOU'RE CUTTING HIS ICE TIME BY 5-8 MIN TO REST FOR PLAYOFFS, TELL ME HOW THATS GOES......LMAOOOOO, oooops caps lock, have a good day......
@@allhockeyyt I completely agree with you, personally I think Edmonton and Vegas are still top of the league right now. I believe it'll come down to those 2 teams again. Season hasn't started yet and anything can happen, but I do strongly believe Edmonton is within reaching distance of Lord Stanley
Excellent summary - best that I have heard ! But you overlooked that Oilers were about to beat Vegas when Nurse got goaded into a suspension by a rookie... who then scored the winning goal the next nt. Nurse has been the goat of every playoffs - who knows why but he has been & he has to fix himself or coach has to teach him - but can't have $9.3mil players taking undisciplined penalties... & many others did this. Also RNH was a big problem.

Buddy, lay off the pipe.
I'm okay with the Oilers continuing to lose in the playoffs
They are very close. Doesn't seem like there's much losing ahead.
And what exactly would your reasoning be behind that?
@@night_thrasher40 They have a lot of very good players that are motivated to win, and they have a team around them that's capable of winning a cup.

Who cares it's all about money and catering to and the selling of weak markets. Lmao Lmao. Lmao

Thank you! That suspension was very questionable for sure, and Nugent-Hopkins will have to step up his game in the playoffs.
Oilers will get their cup but not next year
They are definitely very close. It’s only a matter of time.
Just need a bit of luck to get on a run. Get a hot goalie or get the right matchups. Took Colorado a few years to get there also
