Translation In this abhanga, Saint Tukaram is imagining himself in the role of a gopi (a friend of Krishna in Vrindavan where he grew up) who loves Krishna. He finds krishna irresistible from that consciousness of a gopi. This majestic, sweet and tender like a child, Lord Vitthala is like Cupid himself! The brilliance of the sun and the moon also appears dim in comparison with his aura. His forehead is anointed with a mark in sandalwood paste and his whole body is decorated with sandalwood paste. The Vaijayanti garland is looking very beautiful in His neck (Vaijayanti garland is made from seeds of a plant called Vaijayanti, found only in Braj forests around Mathura - the land of Krishna). His crown and ear ornaments are bringing a glorious look on His face. It is as if all happiness in the world has been cast to make His form! He is wearing a holy yellow garment (pitambar) around His waist and He has covered His shoulders with a silk garment. My dear friends! Just see this blue color, blue cloud complexioned beauty! I just can't wait to see Him. Hence, my dear women! Please step aside and let me see Him!
