I used to work with her sister, a journalist, in the '80s and went to her 'hometown Concert in Weymouth (Dorset, south coast of the UK). Never forgotten her version of Gasoline Alley and have never found a recording of it.
I love Julia Fordham's voice. She's a great singer. I'm one of her lucky fans who got to watch her live at Glorietta. Very unforgettable. She's very talented and gifted. I would love to see and hear her again...
She is as lovely as her songs. Although I would love to see her at the top of the charts, I like the fact that she is a special, rare gem. A class act all the way!
This brought back so many memories. I saw Julia on her tour to promote this album/single. I think it was in the Manchester Academy. This was just the way I remember the concert. Her voice is hypnotic. She has a great range and rarely missed a note performing live. A real star.
when she came here in the Phils;swept our heart with her soulful voice............. i love her song and voice is so amazing, through her interviews i found hersoft hearted as well, I love this woman
Julia's maiden album and Toni Childs' 'Union' were part of my staple musical diet back in the 80s. Amazing how still fresh and listenable they still are. Good tunes age well.
Julia's nine solo albums each approaches the quality of her first release. I recommend "Concrete Love" (2002) and "Swept" (1991). I, too, regret the fact that this talented vocalist and songwriter has yet to find a part of the "mainstream" here in the USA.
Julia had some success here in the U.S. but though not as big as other parts of Europe and Asia. If you were one of the few who had VH1 in the late eighties surely saw Julia as she was in heavy rotation at that channel.

Protease much more! The voice is so rich(! 'Happy ever after' is a life anthem!
The part I'm living in a pipe dream is about me. I had a bad case of Julia, this serves as a reminder it's all in my head.
