Of course Fausto just thought Gillick was going to take his life and spare his family, which would explain the odious level of arrogance he exerted. He truly believed that his sons would be spared, thereby giving them the opportunity to seek vengeance for their father's demise.

I also love Alejandro's character so much. And lets be honest, he is not a good man himself for what he does here because only Fausto deserved death at his hands. But you've gotta love his stark nature and the cold-bloodedness with which he just executes the wife and the children. So that there is no one left to f**k with him for Fausto's death. And the acting of everyone involved in this scene especially is wonderful as well.

I like how everyone feels bad that Alejandro killed Alarcón’s kids and wife. But Alarcón’s cartel decapitated Alejandro’s wife and threw his daughter into a vat of acid. So what Alejandro did to his family was wayyyy more merciful.
"Now finish your meal." Because Alejandro had to for a long time without his family. Knowing he could've had his family present but because of you, he doesn't have that privilege. I may be sick, but this scene is satisfying to me. The way Fausto looks at him before his family is killed with that shit-eating smirk as if to say "you won't do anything". And he was the only one there that thought he wouldn't kill his family. As soon as the wife heard that he killed Alejandro's daughter, she knew her family was going to die. And the look of shock on Fausto's face let me understand that his power got to him up until that point. This might be the one time he's felt weak and vulnerable since getting that power.
This scene is so ice cold it's crazy. The fact that he can kill him instantly but doesn't so he can suffer for a moment before lights out just wraps the scene up in a neat little bow

He didn't lose any humanity. How he responded with hatred towards the man who ordered his family murdered is very much normal human emotions for that situation.

Alejandro was a prosecutor before Alacron took his life away: when he was working the case against Alacron, Alacron decided to torture his family by beheading his wife and throwing Alejandro's daughter into a vat of acid. It's not stated if Alejandro was ever tortured physically, himself, but Alacron underestimated Alejandro. This scene was so beautiful and Alacron was arrogant , even mocking Alejandro with a smirk, to dissuade and take control of the situation. All of that completely shot down with this scene of Alejandro killing his two sons and wife. B-e-a-u-tiful!
For those who are saying “that’s not the way. It’s too brutal, it’s not right..” if you take a closer look at the scene, considering the fact that they all have to go (there is no other damn way around) Alejandro did the “mildest” and innocent thing possible in this situation. First of all all of them got headshots. That’s just the easiest way to go. No pain, no suffering, boom that’s it. Second of all, he shot the boys first so they don’t see their mother or father go, he let the mother watch her kids die for like 0.2 seconds (that’s the last feeling she had to have as a punishment even though it was in a blink of an eye - to watch both of your sons to go). He made father watch his family to go as his punishment (and if you think about it Alejandro actually did exactly what the dude asked him for “not in front of my family”). And then he shot him in throat, so he can have couple more seconds of pain and thinking again about his family being already dead (I’m pretty sure that’s what his thoughts were in last few seconds of his life) and then shot him in the head. That’s just easiest way to go. You know if Alejandro was a monster he could torture kids, chop their limbs in front of two parents, abuse them sexually, do things to his wife, make them suffer for hours. But Alejandro was just a killer with morals and his heart burning for revenge. He didn’t have neither time for all that sadistic shit not he had an intent or joy in doing that kind of stuff. They all just had to go, and he made it easy for them. He could bring chainsaw and fuck their guts, but that’s too loud I guess. Cheers

Cartels are strictly family-run businesses, kill the head and the sons will very likely take over under the mother’s guidance and the killing and corruption will continue. Besides, if he didn’t do it, the rival cartels will, and their methods are far more brutal and painful than Alejandro’s.

"Now finish your meal." Because Alejandro had to for a long time without his family. Knowing he could've had his family present but because of you, he doesn't have that privilege. I may be sick, but this scene is satisfying to me. The way Fausto looks at him before his family is killed with that shit-eating smirk as if to say "you won't do anything". And he was the only one there that thought he wouldn't kill his family. As soon as the wife heard that he killed Alejandro's daughter, she knew her family was going to die. And the look of shock on Fausto's face let me understand that his power got to him up until that point. This might be the one time he's felt weak and vulnerable since getting that power.
This movie is freaking awesome. Amazing from start to finish
This scene is so ice cold it's crazy. The fact that he can kill him instantly but doesn't so he can suffer for a moment before lights out just wraps the scene up in a neat little bow

He didn't lose any humanity. How he responded with hatred towards the man who ordered his family murdered is very much normal human emotions for that situation.

Alejandro was a prosecutor before Alacron took his life away: when he was working the case against Alacron, Alacron decided to torture his family by beheading his wife and throwing Alejandro's daughter into a vat of acid. It's not stated if Alejandro was ever tortured physically, himself, but Alacron underestimated Alejandro. This scene was so beautiful and Alacron was arrogant , even mocking Alejandro with a smirk, to dissuade and take control of the situation. All of that completely shot down with this scene of Alejandro killing his two sons and wife. B-e-a-u-tiful!

For those who are saying “that’s not the way. It’s too brutal, it’s not right..” if you take a closer look at the scene, considering the fact that they all have to go (there is no other damn way around) Alejandro did the “mildest” and innocent thing possible in this situation. First of all all of them got headshots. That’s just the easiest way to go. No pain, no suffering, boom that’s it. Second of all, he shot the boys first so they don’t see their mother or father go, he let the mother watch her kids die for like 0.2 seconds (that’s the last feeling she had to have as a punishment even though it was in a blink of an eye - to watch both of your sons to go). He made father watch his family to go as his punishment (and if you think about it Alejandro actually did exactly what the dude asked him for “not in front of my family”). And then he shot him in throat, so he can have couple more seconds of pain and thinking again about his family being already dead (I’m pretty sure that’s what his thoughts were in last few seconds of his life) and then shot him in the head.
That’s just easiest way to go. You know if Alejandro was a monster he could torture kids, chop their limbs in front of two parents, abuse them sexually, do things to his wife, make them suffer for hours. But Alejandro was just a killer with morals and his heart burning for revenge. He didn’t have neither time for all that sadistic shit not he had an intent or joy in doing that kind of stuff. They all just had to go, and he made it easy for them.
He could bring chainsaw and fuck their guts, but that’s too loud I guess.
