I'm was born in a Sunni Muslim ☪️ family but I was always curious about the deep and complex questions of the life like existence, meaning, suffering cause..etc. & I couldn't find the answers but kinda fascinated and attracted to the Buddha ever since I was a kid and after reading about thr Nikāyas and Therāvada Buddhism, it changed my life and it means a lot that I found the Noble Buddha's Dhamma!

Its's your past life calling you, you should visit a Buddhist temple and travel to Buddhist country. It will help you awaken your true self. You can start by listening and reciting "Buddhist mantras" found on youtube. Next, look for a beginner's Buddhist book written by Asian monk, not western author. Buddhism is meant to be taught by teacher, the books are just a guide, look for a teacher when you are ready. If you have any questions feel free to reply. Good luck on your Dharmic journey!

I MADE IT TO A MONASTERY!
Didn't go to Thailand, but I was originally inspired by this video and I found an awesome Zen Monastery in the US.
I had a vision of being on my death bed and feeling the disappointment of never having tried this lifestyle.
For anyone that has this spiritual yearning or philosophical curiosity,
    GO FOR IT!
    The yearning never goes away.
If you can afford Thailand try it, but don't disregard American monasteries or practice centers.
Western teachers have the advantage of understanding the Western mind.
I met a wonderful teacher who told us his teacher, a Chinese Chan master, taught more advanced
techniques to students in the US because they were hungrier to awaken.
Also, monasteries in the US are usually open to all people, women, men, LGBTQIA, international, BIPOC,
all ages, people with disabilities, different dietary needs, and even punk rockers.
Much love to Nick for putting himself out there and following his call.
Good luck to all on your path 💛

Yes I would. Becomig a Buddhist monk is extremely rare in the samsara..
The existence of a mind and a body is pain..cannot escape from sickness, aging, death and karmic misfortunes. Yet due to ignorance one perceive life as good.
The Buddha's central teachings is the Four Noble Truths. Monks get the support to experience these inner truths and liberate from the cycle of birth by arousing wisdom.
The laity supports the monks with the requisites because they are doing a very noble thing...
You are soo lucky to be able to experience blissful renunciation.

It’s a wrong notion, they are completely detached. They are actually attached to the “simplistic” way of living, saffron clothes, religious rituals etc. which they can't give them up. This is one of the biggest attachments. Ones gives up luxury, but hold on to this simplistic way of living. Both are equally bad. Ask any monk they will not leave them. One who is really free will not get attached to any of these things.

Giving away your mind isn´t sacred, humans for a long time now have found it easier to fall to their knees and let other dictate to them how to think how to live.
No thanks i´ll stand on my own two feet and look everything straight in the eye, i know what is right and i know what is wrong, and i sure as heck do not need some cult, religion or anything else set along that mentality with its silly little rules, mindless chants and endless rituals to tell me what to do. Standing on your own two feet and walking your own path and finding your own way in this world initially seems harder but as you move along it gets alot easier and soon you´ll realize the only difficulty you ever really faced was with your own mind.

Again, another beautiful video. Deep within my heart, and deep in my bones, I know that following the Holy Dharma of the Holdy Buddha is the only way to be liberated from all worldly suffering. Happiness is not in sensual pleasures, or in the attachments of the external world; but rather, it is in your own mind. Each one of us must find the Holy Buddha within ourselves. I've known this for a few years. Someday, I may become a monk, if karma wills it. I want to live a pure and holy Buddhist life; it is my deepest wish. Peace and enlightenment.

It's not hinayana, it's just thailand. There are some saying about to distinguish thai monks from burmese spies but that's not very convincing. (And eyebrows are pretty neccessary in such hot and humid climate)
