Those runs on all instruments are magical, those vocals telling a story of doubt and silent suffering - longing and mesmerizing. Overall whoever has no emotion summoned forth from hearing this might be dead inside.... "Gethsemane": without you, the poetry within me is dead.
For what I understood, they say: "oe oe oe, oe oe oa, *something something* el sentimiento, no puedo parar" like they can't stop the feeling, the love they feel for the band, and you see they did this chant several times throughout the whole concert, the crowd was super energetic and happy to be there
In this song they only chant “oe oe oe oe, Nightwish, Nightwish”. In “I want my tears back” they chanted “oe oe oe, yo soy de Nightwish, un sentimiento! No puedo parar”. In a football/soccer match they would say “Yo soy de… (and the name of the team or the country). Which means “I am a Nightwish supporter/fan”. And then, “Un sentimiento! No puedo parar! (A feeling! I can’t stop it!). This is a common chant in South American soccer matches. In Spain, we usually chant a shorter version, “oe oe oe oeee” and sometimes de name of the team. This shorter version is quite common in football matches, no matter the country. It is usually chanted when the final match is about to finish and your team is going to be the champion. Keto here too. Dinner tonight is a Keto spaghetti sauce over cauliflower, with a chunky salad, Italian Volcano lemon juice/fresh garlic/Avocado oil dressing. Intermittent as well, so my one meal is the highlight of the day. Loved the reaction, as I always do. Have a great weekend.
You ever make spaghetti squash, then just sauté it in a pan with a little bit of olive oil and garlic and pour spaghetti sauce over the top of it. It’s really good!

I'm feeling so much better doing Keto, and am reversing the diabetes. I'll stay on Keto forever, it's so much better for the body.

Great reaction guys! Still at a loss as to why this song isn't getting way more attention. I'm normally not big on the whole "operatic" vocals thingy done by other songsters, bcz of the oftentimes horrendous uncontrolled vibrato and the problems with diction, and intonation. When Floor goes classical though, she manages to remain agile, sings on key and (for me as a drummer not unimportant) on the beat. Crowd was the best any band could wish for and a huge part of what makes the DVD so thoroughly enjoyable. Noticed that in some songs they tuned the crowd's reaction way down, which dampened the vibe somewhat, but hey.. there's still fan videos to compensate for that here on YT. Cheers from Amsterdam!
Agree with you. This song is so good. Such a great mix of symphonic and metal, and Floors vocals. I love Floor's tone and dialed back "operatic" style. It's not too much. Just the right amount of vibrato with a bit of ethereal feel to me. Her Stargazer performance in Tampere is perfect!
@@optimusakc Absolutely. The whole Tampere concert was near perfect, but for some choices re: camera direction. I always urge ppl to listen closely to the finale of Tampere's underrated (imo) GLS. Not just the final belts but the whole section. Compare that to Wacken.. I'm still undecided. Love Floor's masterful colouring & stylistic flexibility at Tampere. Her parents in the audience must've been so proud!

Gethsemane tourists are amazed to see olive trees dating back to the time of Christ. I hope to see a tree Jesus saw before my bucket gets kicked.

Sprecken zie Deutch, Sue?! I thought for a moment you were diving into some Rammstein! Very different from Nightwish...but still one of the biggest, most successful touring bands in the world. I'd love to see you test drive them with Du Hast, live, Paris. I am always pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy rhe musicality of this song. Not often reacted to, but no less special...it has everything you love about Nightwish...except for a catchy hook. I think that's the missing piece.

Good try to speak German or Dutch Sue. I always wonder why the people of the USA don’t speak their languages. In the Netherlands we learn English, German and French in the first years of highschool. Indeed an underrated song, Tuomas depicting himself as Jesus in Gethsemane, contemplating some unreachable love (Tarja?) JW Soundworks channel showed that Tuomas used a variation on a Bach toccata in this song. So not metal Mozart, but metal Bach, although I would rather compare him to Richard Strauss🤓

Sprecken zie Deutch, Sue?! I thought for a moment you were diving into some Rammstein! Very different from Nightwish...but still one of the biggest, most successful touring bands in the world. I'd love to see you test drive them with Du Hast, live, Paris.
I am always pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy rhe musicality of this song. Not often reacted to, but no less special...it has everything you love about Nightwish...except for a catchy hook. I think that's the missing piece.

Good try to speak German or Dutch Sue. I always wonder why the people of the USA don’t speak their languages. In the Netherlands we learn English, German and French in the first years of highschool. Spanish also is popular now ( nobody speaks Dutch so we had to learn other languages :). Watch Floor, she speaks Finnish ( a bit), English, Swedish, German and of course Dutch. I don’t know why our schools have not put more of an emphasis on languages in the United States, but I admire people so much who can speak more than one.

Indeed an underrated song, Tuomas depicting himself as Jesus in Gethsemane, contemplating some unreachable love (Tarja?)
JW Soundworks channel showed that Tuomas used a variation on a Bach toccata in this song. So not metal Mozart, but metal Bach, although I would rather compare him to Richard Strauss🤓

It’s a band from The Netherlands that inspired many symphonic metal bands in their country, like After Forever, Epica, Within Temptation, etc, but also Tuomas Holopainen and many others. Anneke the singer, you already know her from Ayreon, inspired many female singers in metal. Floor was a big fan and she said that she wanted to join a metal band because because of Anneke and the Gathering. We, as Nightwish fans, symphonic metal bands and metal with female singers in general, we owe a lot to Anneke and The Gathering. Anneke was one of those singers that showed us how nice is the combination of a nice female voice and the power of metal.
