Thanks, enjoyed, personal experience is what I enjoy, along with personal advice and suggestions. I am 70, just bought a Lectric XP 2.0 Black Step-Thru E-Bike, about 50 miles so far, live in Michigan, so Cold weather will limit my riding, but I plan to go to New Smyrna Beach Florida for a couple months, to my Daughter's house.
Just bought a Lectric E-Bike so I'm looking for ideas and the back basket from Target looks like a great idea, now your pup, she really looks darling and the sunglasses are cute. Thanks for the recommendations.
You are awesome. Very informative, perfect speech speed and clarity, no extra time with BS talk. Very enjoyable video. Just ordered mirrors and basket.
Good recommendations. We just received an XP 3.0 step through with Black Friday Add-Ons. I added mirrors, phone holder and the passenger package. I will be considering baskets.
A mirror is very important for safety/survival especially in high traffic areas. I unfortunately gained weight during this pandemic but the right thing that I used my stimulus money on was a Lectric XP Step Thru ebike . I desired higher Class III speeds (20 to 28 MPH) so the standard freewheel with 14 to 28 gear teeth although satisfactory I replaced with 11 to 28 gear teeth on them for those speeds. Another thing was due to my heavy weight (230 pounds) range was quite limited to about 11 or 12 miles with the 500 watt -hour Lithium Ion battery. I watched another persons video where he added a 960 watt-hour 48 volt 20 Ampere-Hour secondary Lithium Ion battery pack to it to almost triple the range. This was exactly what I needed for longer 3 hour assisted bike rides. It of course voids the warranty by such a modification. He placed his battery pack in a big RockBros truck bag with panniers and so did I. I don't use the panniers rather the trunk bag is mounted with zip ties on top of my Lectric XP pannier bags which are more spacious and I use them to store my bike tools and groceries t shop for in. On my long rides I go right by a grocery store where I shop for food on my way home. My rides are usually around 25 miles in distance and there are a lot of elevation differences in the ride. I am a over 60 heart patient so aerobic exercise is therapy for me and losing excess body weight is crucial as well. I got the same Cloud 9 seat. Thanks for your suggestions and a good helpful video
Wow it sounds like you’re really making the most of your bike! Thanks for all the info, it sounds like it’s working out well for you. Thanks for watching!
One important item I have not seen discussed is a bright flashing red light either mounted to the bike or the riders helmet. I have a very hard time spotting bicycles on roadways. I have seen bikers wearing helmets with strobe lights so bright I could see them 2 miles away. That and a good safety vest would make biking a lot safer I feel.
Just a quick tip on the walk mode. You can turn it off if you want. Go into your settings (hold both arrows for 3 sec). Cycle down to P21. Walk mode enabled is setting 1. Walk mode disabled is 0. The manual should walk you through it. Might help if you keep hitting it by mistake. Good luck.
Great video. You know when you have a pet in your video, people forget about the RUclips presentation. The XP is a cool bike, kinda reminds you of the old mopeds. The first thing people say, "Is that an electric bike?"
My favorite accessory is the dog! Somehow, I don't think my border collie or my cat would appreciate a bike ride lol. Thanks for the vid. I'm looking into possibly getting an XP Step Thru 2.0 for mostly pavement use, so I was looking for users' experiences in urban environments. Good info on the stock light brightness, which is a concern I had, since I'd be using this for evening errands frequently.
That's our favorite accessory too! I've seen some riders tow their bigger animals behind in a trailer but those things are not cheap either. I think the 2.0 version has addressed most issues that I had with my 1.0, so I'd say go for it! Definitely get a better light and seat though. This bike is great for small grocery runs (i.e. beers, a couple things, a trip to the post office) once you add the basket.
Thank you for making this video. It answered so many questions that I had, like the basket for your dog. I have a 7 lb. Maltese and I do want to take her along with me. Oh! Also the side mirror. That is important to have as well. Again thank you, and God bless You! Sincerely; L. Coggs
Cool! Waiting on my 2.0 and I did order up the lectric mirrors so I'm hoping they will work out ok. Will be doing and extra head and taillight and of course, led wheel lights!😎
We do night rides at our Arizona winter digs. Lots of seniors jumping on the e bike thing. And we do light up the night! Spoke lights plus downward facing lights. Really looking forward to many more riders this year.
We have a fifth wheel and winter in a RV resort of 2265 lots. It is a very active place. Lot of RV people are getting the lectric bikes. Lots of rad rovers too. Can't wait to get my 2.0 out at Quartszite this winter! Full moon night ride in the desert! We may be old, but we refuse to grow up!😎

Really informative Video Aimee. Thanks for all the tips. Just wanted to ask how you secured the wire basket to the back rack? Your reply would be appreciated. Greetings from Minneapolis
The basket doesn’t get in the way at all luckily. Biggest thing to remember is to remove the key from the bike so you don’t break it off inside the battery. When folding, the pedal can hit the key and snap it. We don’t find ourselves folding the bike much, though we’ve heard using big plastic bins makes moving the folded bike easier.
2. quick questions, As I get differing answers. Can the Battery Be removed on the Lectric 2.0 for charging? Does the 2.0 have a horn ? (If so decent or bare minimum)
Hey Marcia, I think you commented on Instagram too but it’s not quick release. It’s a few black Velcro straps wrapped around the handlebar and the stem. It takes a few minutes to get on and off.
Can a shock absorbing stem/handlebar system be used on the LECTRIC XP LITE? Since this ebike does NOT have a front suspension a shock absorbing handlebar would probably be a SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT for the XP LITE.
I feel like there can be such a stigma around people using electric vehicles because they’re too “lazy” to ride a regular bike, but in reality it allows for so much more mobility and gives opportunities to get around in a much better way!
Awesome review and my brother wife love 💕 Pomeranian dogs 🐕 so yes she a cute doggie 🐶 good clean 🧼 review on Lectric XP nothing you said was bad about this bike, please wear safety glasses eyes 👀 please 🏍 ok 🐕🐶🎤👌🏽🤓🙏🏽
I am not at all surprised the panniers are garbage. I ordered a set , but cancelled them after receiving some of their other optional parts. The Lectric bar end mirrors cost $39 or you can buy the exact same mirror, sans logo, for $12.99 from Amazon. You can get a somewhat larger and better quality mirror for $17.08 again from Amazon. The Lectric suspension seat post is crap. The DJC Zoom is a better seat post at $31.90 from Amazon. I do have personal experience with all the parts I have mentioned.
Yea, I definitely wouldn’t buy any of their branded items. The panniers degraded pretty quickly and I’m happy I didn’t pay for them, since lectric sent them to everyone for free when I was ordering them.
@@ELECTRIC-DNA Yes, stripped bolts on the stem, I needed a breaker bar to loosen the axle nuts, I ordered the comfort package they kept the original. The bike wouldn't open out of the box, it took 2 men to open it. After we got it open and on the kick stand, I walked toward the garage. It immediately fell over chipping the paint on the fork. The suspension seat post collapsed with my 195lbs. It is supposed to handle 220lbs. The brakes and derailleur were way out. I was told I should take a picture of the seat post. I presumed while riding the bike. I'm 74. I just didn't see how I could hold the camera and ride the bike at the same time. Of course I got the "we recommend taking the bike to a bike shop" at my expense line of crap. I was an avid rider in my past and never took a bike to a shop for anything except wheel truing. There are other problems some of them being experienced by numerous others. I do not buy $2000 bicycles every day. I have come to dislike the bike and to be honest, I consider it a POS.
Sorry to hear you had such a poor experience with the bike. I really enjoyed mine but don’t have it anymore as I wanted more power. My mom now has a lectric lite and she loves it but I have also heard of people getting “lemons” that just don’t work or have a lot of problems. Their customer service is usually good so I’m sorry that wasn’t your experience.
As a new owner, I am surprised that Lectric would continue to put a seat on their product that so many report as not good, then turn around and sell a better seat. I bet if they looked real hard they could find a way to put the better seat as standard and reduce the added cost in some other area. I would rather have a good seat and have to buy a rear rack.
