I've got to use some concrete overlays at my other family members and relatives' houses in all around Mexico
What type of cement is that. Self leveling. ? I’ve been taught to pressure wash and acid etch but I’ve never done an overlay Cause I don’t believe they last. Does anybody know if you use muratic acid and primer if it has a chance
You have to clean with a broom and steel brush if needed. Make sure you use a sprayer to wet the cement before you start. It WILL NOT stick together if not..

The cheap man way to fix concrete in michigan by next season that stuff looks worse than whats under it. Best choice tear out pour last longer looks better longer

Thanks for the comment! It's technically a squeegee trowel. Magic Trowel is the name of the compony that originally designed this tool and they had patent on it. The patent has now run out and there are quite a few tool companies making these. Most people still refer to them as a magic trowel, regardless of the manufacture.

No, I wouldn't do it, when the car is coming in hot the patch will stick to the tires. Ask me how I know.
I've never seen an overlay that hadn't failed. 1 month, 1 yr, 3 years 10 years they always fail. And don't give me the 'improperly applied' excuse...

That will pop very quickly... definitely not lasting. Seen it 100 times rather then finish properly or re doing the slab you throw some pisscoat on it and expect it to last

Yes it definitely can. You may need an extra coat to flatten everything out.
