Man, why are some comments being negative about this? Can’t you just admire the teaching he’s providing, rather than embracing the mindset of “Fighting is the Greatest!!! Combat Sports Superior!!”? Just let people do what they want to do
Anyways, good video and explanation man. Hope to do Wing Chun someday

Mostly a good presentation of the first 8 moves...9 is ½ wrong...your ending of hyperextending double elbows the left in the 9th move is your clip end palm strike up their right elbow..along with what you present--a hook-cover.-Ernie Moore Jr..
You do 10 where 9 should be and a variation of 9 at 10th move [and you throw-in an 11th ¿?bil?¿--palm down finger poking.-Ernie Moore Jr.
Thank you for your overall really good presentation of a section of the routine.-Ernie Moore Jr.

It’s very interesting and I can see how as a system it works, but how does it integrate range?
I’ve studied various things and when facing off against Wing Chun I’ve learnt sitting in the pocket is a bad idea… but darting in and out is very effective… no disrespect to the art as I know single opponents in all styles vary in skill and are not representative of their whole fighting style.

I do love Kung Fu and wing Chun ... I am more of a fighter than a firm's person however, the forms were made to remember the style and when you teach and remember the style it's good to have proper form.
In wing Chun people sometimes ... And I use some JKD wing Chun and Shaolin in my Kung Fu and I use boxing
In wing Chun ... People sometimes stress the drills too much.
You don't need contact for instance to do wing Chun.
Contact drilling like chi sau is sensitivity drilling for when there is natural contact if you post block or strike and there is natural contact.
You are allowed to seek the bridge contact but you don't have to.
    You can just fight.
Fighting has pros and cons ... Sensitivity and moderate positioning versus power ... You shouldn't teach ot just one way teach it in a spectrum of possibilities.

Out of curiosity and not judgment, what is the purpose of utilizing this kind of equipment?

    • @miqvPL
      @miqvPL Месяц назад

      1. You learn proper position during strikes and the footwork, since in wing chun it's minimalistic and focused mostly around controlling the centerline.
      2. Efficiency of movement (and precision since your arms have a limited space to move), angle of your arms (for deflection) and conditioning of the parts of your arms that need it.
The rest can be practiced without the dummy but you have forms like this one which utilize the wooden dummy, striking it while practicing defense.
Wing Chun isn't the best martial art but Kevin Lee is one of the best teachers and practitioners of it.
