I just came across your video due to my current interest in the Winnebago Revel. So far from everything I’ve seen, the Winnebago Revel is a fantastic RV Van for someone who likes to do impromptu wilderness camping and moderate off-roading. The 4x4 off-road capabilities of the Revel is what really got my attention. For a vehicle that’s pretty much ready to hit the trails right off the dealership parking lot really excites me. I think it’s just compact enough for those off road adventures and just large enough to give you adequate comfort while you’re enjoying the outdoors. I really liked your walk through break down of the Revel. It was great hearing about the upgrades you made and the eventual upgrades your going to make. As someone who’s looking to purchase a Revel, from what I’ve seen this is a pretty great vehicle as a starting point but it definitely needs several upgrades to fit my needs. I really like what you guys have done. I’m going to keep all of that in mind when I purchase my vehicle. With that being said, I don’t know if you know but they make an additional upgraded lounge/sitting area that has added storage which fits directly underneath the bed. It’s called the G.L.S.S. The Garage Lounge Storage Section and it gives you 2 added bench seats along the walls of the van which houses plenty of additional storage and a large removable table in the middle which can be used for dinning, work, etc. Personally I think the Revel should’ve come with that but the fact that you can buy such a cool upgrade allows you to have more living space in the van when the bed is in its retracted upright position. My only complaint or concern about the Revel is what you described happening at the dealership when you guys were ready to take off. Having the computer system or one of the many sensors fail or trip for no reason scares me. All of the cool technology they’re adding to modern vehicles is great except that there’s always the potential for unnecessary failure like the car refusing to be put in gear making it one giant paper weight. It’s one thing for that to happen in the parking lot at the dealership but if that happened out in the wilderness while you were in middle of nowhere, Would be extremely upsetting and extremely worrying. So making sure all of the onboard software is up to date is something I’m really going to be paying close attention to. Like I said before, I really enjoyed this video and you’ve helped me make my decision on buying a Revel. I wish you both the best of luck and happy camping! Cheers!
Thanks for the note, glad you liked our video! We have had zero issues with the Mercedes since the software update that first day (knock on wood). We considered the GLSS, but it really is not something we would use much, there is just the 2 of us traveling and the front table works fine for us, plus the GLSS restricts what can go back in the garage area big time, we store all kinds of stuff back there and GLSS would prevent it. We could not be happier with our Revel- perfect rig for remote camping and so far we have had no major issues.
You guys are AMAZING! Wow! I have written down so much! I plan to buy a 2022 Revel as soon as they are available from LICHTSINN even though I live in Palm Springs. Great content! We’re thinking about buying an identical one. Can you potentially do a video on making a bed out of the backseat cushions and the little table next to the door?

Great video and as others have said, it looks much better without the badging. While I do not own one, I am a big fan of the Revel and it's a great home away from home...though it has to be frustrating with the little things that have went wrong with it like the issue with the shower and the software issue which wouldn't allow you to drive it, you figure the amount of money these things cost that you shouldn't have some of these issues but all in all, it looks like a great vehicle...enjoy the travels you will have!
Thanks for the review ...well done The Toilette is the EU Norm Portable WC,which is ,in my Opinion, easier to handle more convenient than dealing with Dump Stations and a Hose for your Black Water Tanks.I prefer this very much since I have had both I know both! travel Save
Interesting, not familiar with the one you mentioned. I'm happy with the cassette system, never had to use a hose or dump station, just find a restroom and dump in toilet. No complaints here.
The seat belt style latches for the bed, may be to take some of the strain off the bed support mechanism. I'm sure, no matter how well it's made, it takes a beating bouncing and jostling down the roads and/or trails. Even with no additional weight on it.
Yes the 21/22 Revel Lithium can run the AC , but only for 3-4 hours continuous. Here in the Southeastern US with the hot, humid summers you need to run AC overnight if you want to have any chance of being comfortable. The generator lets me run it as much as I want, and makes recharging the batteries on overcast days a breeze. (The factory solar panels will maybe charge the batteries 20-30% on a sunny day.)
We use the induction stove that comes with the van, when we are boondocking off the grid for days we also use a butane camp stove, or the ignik firecan deluxe to cook with. We've had some amazing meals out in the middle of nowhere!
Personally I like the mama and cub stuffed bears. My male GSD doesn’t ride on the dashboard but loves our travel adventures. Dogs name is Barchen. German translation...Little Bear. Great video.
We ordered one that should arrive by April and it would be great to see you add all of the upgrade features/items (Amazon links) to the description. Thank you!
Liked the detail explanation. But I would have like to see inside from a distance to see how inside looks like instead of way too close at all time Overall. Very good and tnx.
Any way you can share the link for the clothes baskets, fridge pole, the laundry basket, and the magnet hooks? Thank you… love it, and I would love to add them in our van!
When I bought this in July of 2020 I paid 133k, the market has sort of gone crazy since then. I think 148-152k is the new low entry point. Call several dealers and see what you can get them down to- ignore the pricing on their website, they will go down significantly from what they post online.
@@citizenpark2782 If you can- I say wait a few months and the market will settle down- and a lot of people that bought these will begin to realize it may not be for them.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Great point. I'm going to wait until some realize they just dropped $150K on a rig that looked better in their dream than their driveway. Yikes!
Another awesome video and thank you for the links to all the products you found! You said you found that carpet for the step at Camping World - did you find it online?
What are your tips for de-badging? I assume the decals come off with a heat gun, but what about the Winnebago badges? Are they glued on as well? Thanks!
It is a 2.5 Cubic Foot compressor driven fridge. Enough room for 3 days or so for 2 people. Longer if you store waters and other things that won't spoil in storage.
Thanks for sharing this and all the links. I've had my '21 Revel for 3 mos now with several trips. I'm in FL and the A/C works well off the Zantrex/lithium and I don't see why you need the soft start - that might be an unnecessary upsell. I have Honda EU2200i with Hutch Mtn propane conversion to help top batteries in heavy A/C use situations if no shore power. Overall happy with Revel but I've had problems - 3 times now the sensor for the cruise control has mysteriously gone out thus disabling cruise control - and in each case its just as mysteriously fixed itself. The pistons to hold the windows out are crappy and failing already. The LED strip on passenger side running board underside has partially failed. I really hope I don't have any transmission problems like you did - I previously had a '20 Mercedes that had some weird transmission problems during the few months I owned it and took it across country. I traded that for the Revel as I realized it would cost more to convert that van than to just buy a ready to go Revel and time was a factor.
I actually added the soft start as insurance, I was told it's easier on the AC, who knows lol. I have had the cruise control drop of one time, I believe it was due to the crappy weather I was in, the forward camera or sensors were fouled up. Solved itself. I would recommend getting it to your local MB dealer for software updates, I was surprised for a brand new van how many updates it required. Since then I have had zero issues with the transmission (knock on wood!)
Very nice information. I'm sure I'll have some questions as I start using the new one I pick up in about 3 weeks. On the suspension, Esther a dealer recommended change that you are looking at (adding a leaf, other?). Let me know how that change goes if you make it. On the computer crap, I have an older sprinter, and had a similar (but different issue) where the computer gave an error, would not run, and no-one could figure it out. Software upgrades seem to be the solution that solved it, but no one ever knew what the original issue was.
If I add some storage boxes on the back I may upgrade the suspension, so far I've been pretty happy with the stock setup. In heavy winds or when a big truck pushes by you it can sway a bit but very manageable.
Removing all the graphics is a big help- not sure what your HOA says, mine says no RV's but I am of the opinion that this is a Mercedes Sprinter vehicle with off road modifications. Depending on how your state registers it, it may show up as a Mercedes Van on the registration, in which case you can just show that to the HOA admin. I am very fortunate that I have a rear garage in addition to our main front garages so it is not visible all the time. All the neighbors that see it have been very positive. There is a large facebook group dedicated to the Revel, most discussions in there have been pretty positive about HOA situations- key is removing anything that says Winnebago!
We have the same issue. I’m pretty sure we’d catch hell if we parked a swoop swirly vehicle on our driveway for anything beyond a week. When will they learn? 🙄 stealth is so much better!
Love the video Lady and I are looking for a small RV that is versatile and this seems to fit the bill. Was wondering what sort of camera do you use. Thanks for the video probably the most informative that I've seen on the Revel!!

Havent had to use the heaters yet, its going to be interesting LOL. Was considering your rear bumper I think you have me sold. Also hope to get the Van Compass 2.3 suspension kit. @@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED You two present great information and tips although a bit long. The transitions are not the smoothest - these you can lose especially if you know you went off topic. Enjoy your van!
Yeah it's actually thetford design that's the issue. Instead of relying on the o-ring seal it should get silicon seal from the factory. No issues since I did that to mine.
Hey, guys. Great ideas in this video. Will definitely borrow a few. Quick question: What brand surge protector do you guys have? I just purchased the exact same van and don't want to take the chance of frying my batteries and inverter.

planning to order mine do you recommend premium wheels/tires or better to get standard package and upgrade it with some of the aftermarket options such as black rhino and others?
Well the dealership I bought mine from only orders them with the wheel upgrade and AC, so I didn't have much of a choice. I'm happy with the wheels but I have to admit there are some better looking aftermarket ones out there.
HI there and thank you for the informative video! Can't wait to get one. - How do you feel about climbing over each other to get in and out of the bed? We have a 69 VW Bus and sleep with our heads toward the front or back so we can each come and go morning or night. (I tend to stay up later and she tends to get up early).
It's certainly not as easy to get in/out of the bed. I tend to get up once or twice in the night so I sleep on the opening side. It's not bad, the bed is super comfy and it's pretty cozy back there.
You could probably get a new dining table made somewhere. Appreciate the comments on the squirrelly handling next to semis. But maybe that’s the price you pay for high ground clearance?
No it's actually pretty quiet. My wife will drive herself crazy with car rattles and she's found most of the issues: The maxair fan in the ceiling made a little noise when driving, putting that removable cover on it solved that. The bathroom door can make a little noise when on a bumpy road but nothing serious. The window on the slider door will make some noise unless you pull the light shade down, then it's fine. Overall I have no complaints.
Cool but quirky build with some major fails like the toilet switch and clanking bed buckles. I'm sure they will fix those in the future. And the low height drawers with the tall doors. I like some of the ideas you guys had to make it more livable.
Thanks for sharing what you have experienced with your 2021 Revel, great modifications and suggestions. Where did you get your additional pantry shelf?
Well done on the video, how often do you have to empty your grey water and have to empty out your toilet and I know this depends on personal usage but I just want to get an idea, thanks.
For 2 people you can go up to 3 days or so, depending on how many showers and how often you're using the toilet. Solo you could probably get 4 days or maybe 5. Key is short showers lol.
Glad you like the video! Yes the Revel comes with the factory MB TPMS, works great. It also has lane departure warning/correction and adaptive cruise which is great on long trips!
Great tips! Your modifications are awesome. Your wife looks tiny, like my wife (who is 5’2”). Can your wife drive the Revel comfortably too? My Revel is on order, but won’t come until Spring 2021. Please keep the Revel videos coming! Thanks
They have plans as low as 11.95 a month, I went with the $24.95/month that lets me do up to 40 text messages. It works great out in the middle of nowhere!
Hi! Did I miss commentary about a microwave? I don't think the Revel comes with one, but I see a microwave from Amazon in your links list. Do you store one and use it when you need to zap something? I've only considered rigs with a microwave, yet never considered storing one and using it as needed.
We did buy a microwave and kept it in a storage bin. After multiple camping trips we stopped packing it. The induction and solo campfire stove work great for our needs.
Thanks for the tips! Pick up our Revel tomorrow. What is the name of the ecosmart product you put in the toilet compartment? I tried googling what I saw but couldn't find it.

Jim Beam fits really Nice in that cabinet. I'm sold
Really appreciate the detail tour, its the little things that makes a difference in a little space
You guys are AMAZING! Wow! I have written down so much! I plan to buy a 2022 Revel as soon as they are available from LICHTSINN even though I live in Palm Springs. Your tips and knowledge are awesome - REALLY appreciate you both taking the time to do this. Crazy helpful!! Hope to run into you on the road...
Thanks for the note- glad you liked the video! I hope you get in line for the 22 soon, Litchtsinn is a great dealer to work with!
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Done! LOL I pick up my new 2022 in August/September at Lichtsinn and drive it back to my home in Palm Springs. I made the decision based on your videos so THANK YOU SO MUCH! I owned and operated an off-road tour company for 10 years out of Palm Springs - used H2 Hummers...so needless to say, the adventure continues! Thanks again for all your insight and product recommendations WITH LINKS! PERFECT!
Did you find they offer the best pricing? My husband thinks that's the case, but we haven't tried NIRV yet.
@@sheilac6587 I feel that when it comes down to it they will be fair which is all I can ask for. I don't know my price yet since it is a 2022 but I am prepared to negotiate and walk away if it is not fair (even if it means losing my deposit). They have an excellent reputation so I doubt they would gamble with the idea of making me or any customer unhappy. From my extensive research, others have received a very good price.
Dang, most organized wife ever. Really enjoyed the video, great sharing, best of health to you both!
Yeah she's got a place for everything lol. Thanks for watching!
Great content
Great content! We’re thinking about buying an identical one. Can you potentially do a video on making a bed out of the backseat cushions and the little table next to the door?
Thanks for the feedback! Sounds good- I think you will love the rig, pretty much lets you go anywhere with all the comforts of home!
Well done. Like the use of the felt storage solutions.
Great way to keep things organized and more importantly- no rattles!
Thanks for making this video! Great looking rig. You exposed a lot of issues on such a high end vehicle that could easily be rectified. Go Hawks!

Excellent presentation. The manufacturer should see this video, and make some of the changes and additions that you have.
Glad you liked it!
I love that you took the graphics off. Looks really stealth. Almost looks like a work van at first glance.
Yeah I think it's a great look, understated but kind of a "all business" look!
great video, very informative. all the tips and tricks are always helpful.
Thanks for your honesty about your van, i love it 👍👍👍
Sweet i got a 2020. I recommend a road trip to san diego CA and have agile off road install their auxiliary fuel tank. Its the best upgrade by far
Yeah that's a hike from Tennessee but we may do it, planning a trip to Seattle.
Thanks for the review ...well done
The Toilette is the EU Norm Portable WC,which is ,in my Opinion, easier to handle more convenient than dealing with Dump Stations and a Hose for your Black Water Tanks.I prefer this very much since I have had both I know both! travel Save
Interesting, not familiar with the one you mentioned. I'm happy with the cassette system, never had to use a hose or dump station, just find a restroom and dump in toilet. No complaints here.
Liked the presentation. Dreaming for One!
The seat belt style latches for the bed, may be to take some of the strain off the bed support mechanism. I'm sure, no matter how well it's made, it takes a beating bouncing and jostling down the roads and/or trails. Even with no additional weight on it.
That is exactly the purpose of it.
Can you clarify why you’re using a generator for the AC? I thought the 21 Revel had enough lithium to run self contained?
Yes the 21/22 Revel Lithium can run the AC , but only for 3-4 hours continuous. Here in the Southeastern US with the hot, humid summers you need to run AC overnight if you want to have any chance of being comfortable. The generator lets me run it as much as I want, and makes recharging the batteries on overcast days a breeze. (The factory solar panels will maybe charge the batteries 20-30% on a sunny day.)
Have you looked at the showtime curtain from Canyon Adventure Vans?
I have- that looks pretty slick. Just wish it was around 400 bucks instead of what they are asking lol..
Thank you for sharing your experience. Look forward to more.
Very useful tips I will be incorporating into my Revel. Thanks.
How did you guys cook, bake??
We use the induction stove that comes with the van, when we are boondocking off the grid for days we also use a butane camp stove, or the ignik firecan deluxe to cook with. We've had some amazing meals out in the middle of nowhere!
Thanks for the information. Please let me know where you got the spray nozzle for the back.
What is that bamboo cover over the stove...
That's actually a cutting board- canyonadventurevans.com/shop/ols/products/bamboo-cutting-board
Personally I like the mama and cub stuffed bears. My male GSD doesn’t ride on the dashboard but loves our travel adventures. Dogs name is Barchen. German translation...Little Bear. Great video.
That's awesome! I give her a hard time about the bears but they are cute and I actually like having them ride around with us :)
Nice Seahawks shirt. We are in W Seattle and get our van in June.
We ordered one that should arrive by April and it would be great to see you add all of the upgrade features/items (Amazon links) to the description.

Overall. Very good and tnx.
Any way you can share the link for the clothes baskets, fridge pole, the laundry basket, and the magnet hooks? Thank you… love it, and I would love to add them in our van!
Oh and the mirror.. that’s a perfect fit!
Most showerheads leak to keep water temp balanced when in hold position. But for better performance go with Oxigenics ( they leak on purpose as well.)
Great ideas! And thanks for the many links.
Great content. I’m looking the same model, how much you end up paying? Any tips or tricks related to purchasing and getting the best deal?
When I bought this in July of 2020 I paid 133k, the market has sort of gone crazy since then. I think 148-152k is the new low entry point. Call several dealers and see what you can get them down to- ignore the pricing on their website, they will go down significantly from what they post online.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Ty brotha man!
Thanks!
I removed all the badges just using a heat gun. 3m emblem adhesive remover is good to clean up any residue. It's super easy!
Enjoyed the tour. Nice narration of helpful tips. Where did you get the air freshener?
How large is the refrigerator? I like the way you did it without the showy graphics and such,
It is a 2.5 Cubic Foot compressor driven fridge.
Thank you for the informative video. I didn’t realize we should lock the surge protector. Could you provide a link to the one you bought, please?
Great review! Very helpful and honest. Thank you.
Sweet rig guy, have you done month long journeys in the van yet?
When you park this van at home, did you park near the curb or on your driveway? We are thinking replace our SUV with this but HOA might not like it.
Thank you for the feedback! For this video I used my DJI omso pocket.
Curious why you need the Honda generator? Isn't the regular power adequate?
So far the lithium batteries have been all we need. It will be interesting as we get into the more humid summer months and we use more AC.
Great video...on the link for the mirror for the BathRoom is goes to a small 5inch by 3 inch mirror. Do you have a better link. Thanks. TKA

Is there a Revel model good for a family of 4?
No there is simply not enough room. I would look into a winnebago Solis or Travato for 4 people.
Wow, that toilet flush button is a design flaw. I hope W improves the design in the future and provides fixes to the previous models. Go Hawks!
Yeah it's actually thetford design that's the issue. Instead of relying on the o-ring seal it should get silicon seal from the factory. No issues since I did that to mine.

do you recommend premium wheels/tires or better to get standard package and upgrade it with some of the aftermarket options such as black rhino and others?
How bout an update, please?
We've been talking about doing one- good idea!
You could probably get a new dining table made somewhere. Appreciate the comments on the squirrelly handling next to semis. But maybe that’s the price you pay for high ground clearance?
Wow, very impressive share! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Any secret to getting the ac unit going? Sometimes mine starts up fine and other times it does nothing
As long as the inverter is on it should kick off in 30-90 seconds
Mind me asking how much it rattles when on the highway? I’ve heard it described as “ unbearable”. Thoughts?
No it's actually pretty quiet. My wife will drive herself crazy with car rattles and she's found most of the issues: The maxair fan in the ceiling made a little noise when driving, putting that removable cover on it solved that. The bathroom door can make a little noise when on a bumpy road but nothing serious. The window on the slider door will make some noise unless you pull the light shade down, then it's fine. Overall I have no complaints.
@@MULTIPLESHOTSFIRED Great! Thanks for the reply.
Cool but quirky build with some major fails like the toilet switch and clanking bed buckles. I'm sure they will fix those in the future. And the low height drawers with the tall doors. I like some of the ideas you guys had to make it more livable.
Lol the switch seal and a rattle from the buckle are hardly "Major Fails". It's a incredibly well engineered RV but not perfect.
