That is a great story. I have wondered, not for years, but decades why the different pronunciation. And the way they used as promo material is so brilliant. I love this. Thanks for posting.
I have one of Carmine's videos to learn how to play the drums - the one thing I can't do. I loved it. It was for kids, but that's what I needed, a great starting point.
Hearing their brother chime in, I would say "Ap-Pi-Che" is probably the most correct way of saying their name, but "The Biz" has a funny way of simplifying things it can't comprehend.
True, but generally speaking a lot of “difficult” surnames, including Italian names, are Anglicized. Most Italian Americans (who have Italian surnames) pronounce their surnames differently than their ancestors did .
I worked at a red roof inn back when he was in Blue murder and they stayed there one night. When they checked in Carmine wanted someone to take his bags to his room and bring him dinner. The maintenance guy happened to be there and told him "you're at a red roof inn. You must not be as popular as you think you are." I could barely keep from laughing as I finished checking them in
Car man a piece. Sounds like a perfect name for a car dealership. One of the salesmen is Appisch, he's the one who always catches a cold and sneezes...
I love listening to Carmine. Both are amazing drummers
I love Carmine's stories...
They must be true

Not to mention the unpronounced anglo final E
🤌🏻 the Italian hand is all that matters. 😅
Appice bros are legendary! Vinny joined behemoth Black Sabbath in the middle of the Heaven and Hell tour at the age of 22-23. That's MIND BLOWING!!
Why?
@@jonstiffer4994 what were you doing at 22? Not drumming for a legendary band, I'm sure
Vinnie was with Rick Derringer in the 1970's...drummers know all the guys and who they played with.

Thank you again

Bravo

The real pronunciation of his name is "Apeechi" in Italian.
Sure but most Americans anglicize the pronunciation of their names.
I've been saying it that way for years. It just sounds better than "A piece" or "App Ah See"
Each brother had a Mercury Sable w/ the same dent,, Lol.. love it..
Wow! A Mercury Sable. He must have been rolling in cash.

Caramel Apple
I've been saying "App-uh-see" for like 35 years
I still wonder how his family pronounced it when they were growing up.
A- Piece, App--pathy
I always pronounced their name the way Ronnie James Dio did for Vinny
How did Ronnie say it? Being an Italian American himself he probably had a particular way he liked to say it that he felt was more “authentic”.
Well that settles it then. Vinny has been right all this time. 😁
a peach ee.
Like Frank gambale.

Him in bogart beck ...and blue murder I think he opened DOORS
So now I know.
Appice (Ap-ee-ché) haha😅
wow! That last one is totally right. uh PEE she. Italian. But Vinny could totally beat up Carmine in a fist fight.
Totally sounds like a dude i would want to be on the good side of, right Nikki?
lol..
Wow. 3 brothers and none of them know how to pronounce their names.
😅😅😅
Car-me-naih Up-pea-chaih/che the only RIGHT pronounciation
Sorry, but Vinnie's version of the name sounds horrible...
Vinnie pronounces it wrong because he has more Moors ancestry than Carmine, and most of "them" are stupid. Kidding y'all.
Lol!
