- North Iceland in Winter!! ❄️🇮🇸🌨️❄️ It's cold, windy & awesome to photograph. Welcome back to this series and our 4th video from the road trip. Today we travel from Goðafoss and Akureyri to the geothermal region of Mývatn. There are a couple good photo opportunities on the way. After today we'll head towards the east coast and some of the more famous photo spots in Iceland.

I was in Iceland in 2014 for Airwaves. I agree…great music festival. Fermented shark was, well, an experience. But the rest of the cuisine there was amazing. Hope to return someday to explore more of the great countryside.

You indeed had some stunning light here! Mývatn is my no1 area, which I would like to explore more when I return to Iceland, it has so much to offer!

The sun makes a huge difference with getting some great photos! That is some epic footage you were able to capture in this video! Those interesting clouds you showed in the one photo looked so cool!
Wow, a PowerShot, too! I spent years photographing gardens with one. It could do an awful lot for a point and shot set on Auto. 😉 - Elaine
PS. Lichens come in all sorts of colors so yep, that rock was covered in lichens.
Enjoyed this Greg and loved that opening sequence with the drone, it was mint. Brought back memories of seeing Lenticular clouds when I had a short visit to Iceland back in 2019 as that was the first time I can ever remember seeing them
Really enjoy seeing (and feeling) Iceland through your eyes! Will continue to follow your and Brendan's adventures for sure. Your workshop participants are lucky people!
As a side trip on the way back from Siglufjordur to Reykjavik In June last year, I had a hot dog in that cafe/shop/shack across the road at 0:21 - and had stomach cramps within the next two hours. I was sick for two days. Great memory every time I see my pics from Godafoss. :-(
Greg fun fact for you. The image that you took of the photographer on the cliff, is my girlfriend holding my tripod as I searched for other compositions with my second camera! I was the one chatting to Brendan at the cafe where I bumped into him for the second time randomly after meeting him in Japan many years ago!
