About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

It blows my mind that Terry's talent for decorating, before you all took a leap of faith to buy a decrepit chateau, was limited to his own house. So few people would have his vision AND have the talent and persistence to spend years actually creating it.

@caterandolph3440 In their first few introductory videos, Terry says he, Ash and Tracy were partners in a pet store and grooming business. I think I recall he also mentioned he went to design school, but I would assume decent paying design jobs are hard to find in Middleboro.
Before it was just a big house, the level of detail you are all bringing it to is what makes it a chateau.

I love that we can literally see design ideas pop out of Terrys brain onto walls and ceilings. It is going to look so elegant when you have finished.I can’t wait to see the next stage in the garden that Ash is working on AND you are finishing the outside of Tracy’s cottage,so much work and all of it to such a high standard . The oval ceiling to replicate as much as possible the 1st class lounge of titanic is going to be incredible. Tbf love all that you’re doing to this once dying property. Breathing life into the old girl.. can’t wait to be a paying guest

I have to say I would really like that pale turquoise color or Robyn’s egg blue in one of these bedrooms, it would be so elegant with that intricate ceiling centerpiece! The extra stuff on the panels may be too much. Right now it looks classy, stylish, grand and correctly formal. Save yourself some time, it’s perfect, as is. Chances are my vision of it from a RUclips angle may be distorted, but it looks so perfect right now!

My father used to paint in oil the medallions up on the ceiling and as many are floral, he used to have it look like a floral garden. I deal in miniatures and I've painted my ceiling medallions in a floral motif. I am so enjoying this. This is the first time I have heard the Titanic is going to be the focus of the new Suite. So excited and can totally see this style in your Chateau. The wood paneling and how you will accomplish is going to be backbreaking for all involved. A lot of lovely ideas can be added and I am very excited!
Btw… you will never hear me criticize your work … all of you. I can not imagine even anything beyond your renovation where all of you work so hard wherever needed. Garden is an amazing example. Done properly like everything else you all accomplish.

Terry, you have a great future in design if you ever choose that path. I watched a chateau diy video the other day and they were putting replacement vinyl windows in only some windows, the interior is being done in a sea of beige, the rooms could be any hotel room across America. So sad. You get it however. If you can't go bold, colorful, a little sparkly, with lots of character, you need a three bedroom ranch in a subdivision. It is wonderful to see you be brave but respectful to the time period. You are rocking it.

And I thought I was obsessed with the Titanic! I've been fascinated by it ever since reading Walter Lord's "A Night to Remember" in 9th grade English class. I came up with the idea for a novel in which it figures into the subplot, but I was busy working back in those days and never got it written. Then when James Cameron's movie came out, anything else related to the Titanic would have made people think his movie was my inspiration for it, and it wasn't. I may still finish that novel one day! If I do and it's a success, I'll have to come visit you and stay in one of these fabulous Titanic-inspired rooms!
