LaLande can never lose Dan, it is a risk you cannot take. I suggest you double his salary and increase his time off immediately! (Dan, was that okay?)

What A JOY, once again, thank You SO much!! 💛💕💛 Yes, Dan is an absolute gem, also, he couldn’t get nicer job surcomstances, I think! 😂 And Kirsty… what a power-woman!! 💪💪
I much prefer the videos just at LaLande, watching the work and restoration going on with such interesting people. Throw in some brocante visits here and there with all that that inspires and I’m happy.
Avani Green: I have been watching since March 2020 so am no newbie. I am English so might not be so desirous to view big old rich posh houses as others: they tended to be built with some dodgy money, by and large. Most of the glorious English estates were built with money made from colonial slavery, for example, and the European ones likewise. Hence the French Revolution. I was just stating my preference because I really enjoy seeing the multi-dimensional life at Lalande, that’s all - the restoration/working side of things rather than other smart chateaux, and would like to see more.
My aunt and uncle are English and loved Country Estates their whole lives. The bigger the better. My uncle collected and sold country style antiques. They didn't travel abroad like their daughter. Where as my English father loved biking, camping, history and ruins (Romain, Abbys, etc). My father and aunt grew up in York and survived the bombing of WW II which explains a lot for both points of view. Preserve the work of the artisan in chapel, church, Cathedral or Estates. Enjoy travel and cultures of the world. Study History and stop repeating the same issues again and again. All that Stephanie has shown us is fantastic from visiting Vietnam to the Castle next door. Plus we get to hang out with artists, artisans, workers, and thinkers on holiday or in the moment of creation. It is like a grand salon in Paris in centuries past with Castle attached.
Good move Steph inviting your swoon worthy adorable cousin to the chateau 👍 Your RUclips channel following just expanded with a younger audience. All of you are so adorable. Greatest group of people in one spot. Bon Voyage to Italy and New York 💕

It's hit me once more how much progress has happened in only a year! I appreciate it all, but I'm so excited to see what Lalande will look like this time next year😁🏰🌻💕
I love this sort of speculation. At some point in the distant future, a time-lapse of the changes would be so cool (watched one of these for a 2 year rebuild in Spain). The facade and new gardens will be the final huge difference...amphitheater...lake...island...mill...pool...sunroom dining off the kitchen...what else? Yeah, so many changes. I have a funny feeling the tower was worked on for British television show the last few months.
I have watched every chateau diaries since no 1 and the transformation of LA Lande is extraordinary. It was always lovely but now is looks super cared for. What a lot of work but so worth it.
Wow! Dan and his Team have made such a great job of that moat and all the gardens. The gardens are just transforming how your chateau looks - the fountain garden especially. GO Dan!
Dan just Vloged that 90% of the tomatoes plants died. All the rain didn't help, and it had blight. A Farm to Table expert might be fun to contact to up the amount of food produced in the garden for the Chateau next year.
Yay! So happy to see Amaury - and wowza - not sure who is more handsome, your cousin or Philip!! xoxo Kudos to Kirsty and Dan for the massively impressive job on that moat - and the wonderful magic you've done to the grounds!
Love your cousin's name, Amaury. Never heard this name before and must look it up and see what the meaning of his name is, as it sounds like it would be very special? He is very handsome.Seems very nice. o many new things seem to be on the horizon and everything is looking so very grande at the Chateau de La Lande I really do care, and a, interested and anxious to see how things are going to go next and all of the great times everyone has when together. I think so many wonderful and beautiful people seem to be drawn to La Lande! It is all meant to be.
It’s an Old French name you hear once in a while, but also it always reminds me of the Fitzgerald’s semi-autobiographical novel « This Side of Paradise ». Scott named the protagonist Amaury.
Wow the Moat looks amazing , weirdly, have no idea why but seeing it like that made me tear up. Lalande is being rejuvenated and its a beautiful thing to see 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
OMG AAAAMAZZZZING!!! The chateau and the moat are looking INCREDIBLE!!! Dan and Kirsty have done a superb job thus far!!! Soooo much hard work and I cannot get over the transformation of the moat!!! I love watching the rebirth of LaLande!!! xxoo
Gerry you look great and i am so happy you are feeling well and admire you for helping out at the Chateau. Your leg that you broke the knee cap looks a little swollen. When you are resting or sleeping try to elevate your leg so that it is higher than your heart. My mom fell around the same time you did and broke broke both her shoulders and her legs were very swollen and the doctor told her to do this and in 2 days the swelling went down. Forgive me if your leg is not swollen. Hanni you look lovely as well!
As a person who has to haul 200 ft of hose to water the big veg garden, I'm thrilled the walled garden now has easily accessible water. The moat looks amazing. Great work, Dan and Kirstie! Am hoping the Marquis and his family watch Chateau Diaries; I imagine they'd be so happy to see their family home looking so beautiful. The moat now reminds me of Sleeping Beauty, when the curse was lifted and the castle shone as it deserved again.
I hear you about the water. Isabelle's well in the garden was just closed. She hauled water from it for years. The older Marquis died and Stephanie showed respectful footage of his last visit and when they held a family celebration at the chapel. One of the brothers was a priest, who did a service there. That is the last mention Stephanie has made about the Marquis or the 11 heirs who sold the larger estate in farmland and Lalande separately. As a current owner of a family farm I wouldn't look back after its sale for many reasons. 😔
The family normally visit once a year and take over the whole Chateau for a weekend around September, but obviously with Covid that didnt happen last year. And possibly may not happen this year with the Marquis' passing
I don’t know what else to say other then, La Lande has a special place in my heart. I have never been, never met any of the volunteers or Steph and her family, but this place- this magical place has shared her magic with me. With every change, every update, every wonderful person who has shared their gifts, kindness and hard work, La Lande has come to life. I cannot wait to come and visit. Sincerely, I would like nothing more then to cook in the kitchen and share my love of Farm to Table food, homemade breads, and toast to new friends at this magical place. Un altra cent’ anni La Lande!
If you know farm to table are there books or lists to send to Lalande so that next year there is more variety in food used from the garden? Or was it a matter of too much rain this year?
This video is one of my favorites! So much work done and everyone do his best! It is amazing! You are a great leader Stephanie! Everyone is happy to work! You need to write a book about how you do that! God bless you.

And all that without a way for them to see if you are telling the truth, ya know why thats dangerous? Cause someone that scared don't really think clearly and can denial their way into thinking a "quick fix" would do it for them, they may believe things with way laxer evidence or even fairytales of this and that, because they want to believe it you see. So please stop disrespecting all the people we know that we've lost, by making more, do you hear?
Adding dans drone footage just elevated your videos!! It really gives a sense of the land and grandeur of the chateau.. Please consider using drone footage more. Especially when doing your chateau tours!!
30 thousand it should be 50 thousand, keep it up Dan, well done 🥰🐝🦋🌻
Amazing how much you have together accomplished. The difference in the 18-months since I started watching with the Quarentine Diaries. Congratulations to you all... and to the Patrons who help fund it.
I keep hoping we get to hear about mischief Stephanie got up to when she was young!😂. Maybe Amauri can tell us!!🤔😂
and the mischief Amauri was up to!
How handsome is cousin Amaury. Looking forward to seeing more of him, I remember how charming he was last visit. Thanks for the fantastic vlog. Hugs to you all from lockdown in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺 🤗 ❤
I must add kudos to Ian the contractor / carpenter, just phenomenal work, so fast!
And of course Dan, Kirstie & the moat crew, Selmar, Ians, forester... all the LA Landers... AMAZING!!
That is amazing! Welcome home Amaury!
Just stunning drone footage of the Chateau and grounds! Kirstie is just so great, I love her personality, she really is a very sweet hard worker, always a smile on her face...with her cute dimples! Can't wait to see what your cousin Amaury does with all the restoration work. Stephanie the people you have at Lalande are phenomenal! Take really good care of yourselves, stay safe! Much love and appreciation Kathy x (Ontario, Canada)
Lalande looks immaculate! So happy for you Stephanie!
Welcome! Can’t wait to see your work in the Grand Salon.
Eat the dandelion leaves and make tea with the flowers ...it is so healthy
You are truly blessed with all the people who help restore Lalande
Thank you very much for sharing
Kirsty and Dan are incredible.
The Chateau is looking magnificent! Can't wait to see the panelling go up and Nati's apartment!
What A JOY, once again, thank You SO much!! 💛💕💛
Yes, Dan is an absolute gem, also, he couldn’t get nicer job surcomstances, I think! 😂
And Kirsty… what a power-woman!!
It is like a grand salon in Paris in centuries past with Castle attached.
caroline gooder : I agree. I am from York too btw
Emma Miller : eh? Not sure how you think my view is polarised. I think Stephanie is great and I have been following her vlogs for a long time.
Good move Steph inviting your swoon worthy adorable cousin to the chateau 👍
Your RUclips channel following just expanded with a younger audience. All of you are so adorable. Greatest group of people in one spot. Bon Voyage to Italy and New York 💕
Welcome to your gorgeous cousin, I can't wait to see him transform the Grand Salon with that amazing paneling you bought. It's going to be beautiful! I think you need to keep him there permanently lol 😍
Yes I agree
Welcome Amaury..... lots of lovely projects ahead no doubt. Ian, Dan and Kirsty really get stuff DONE! What a wonderful team. xxx
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

Eye candy for the masses ...
Welcome to our viewing pleasure sure hoping for xtra warm weather .💃
Well said!
Way to go!!! Great job 👍👌👍
I forgot how funny Gerald can be , "don't you dare show this to your mother"
I'd put a board on the boat and lay down staring at the sky as I floated around the moat. lol Loved this vlog. Thanks!
Amaury, he has a beautiful name , I think I read somewhere that it means work power ! That would be suitable ! Great to see the restauration starting , be strong Amaury , we'll be climbing the restoration mountain with you here in the other side of the screen !
Try not to slobber, I mean drool. Lol
@@omaum8410 I'm not slobbering, the man has ahead very difficult job and I'm trying to give him support ! I try to stay in the positive side of things at Lalande .
I am impressed by all the work going on there . The moat looks wonderful . I never really thought about maintaining a moat before . It involves a lot of hard work . The chateau is getting more and more a true castle appearance . Please keep up the good work . looking forward to what happens next !
Absolutely beautiful footage! 🦋
Now that cousin knows he has a bed, he’s much more relaxed. Good for him.
Dan and Kirstie did a wonderful job on the moat. Great team!
And Matt
It's hit me once more how much progress has happened in only a year! I appreciate it all, but I'm so excited to see what Lalande will look like this time next year😁🏰🌻💕
The chapel, the terrace and the tower next!
WoooooW Awesome Mote!!!
Stephanie should plant some Water Lilies in the motte.
I have watched every chateau diaries since no 1 and the transformation of LA Lande is extraordinary. It was always lovely but now is looks super cared for. What a lot of work but so worth it.
The patrons have paid for the restoration and the Vlogs for so much else. The contractors are so hard working and most have Vlogs of their own.
Stephanie and Michael Petherick were geniuses and survivors to give us this wonderful journey to share. Thank you.
Is Amoury her cousin on her mom or dad’s side?
I'd LOVE an update video about ALL the chateau changes in the last year. It'd be such an interesting video to do once a year 😲😁
I was thinking the same thing. So much has changed!
Wow! Dan and his Team have made such a great job of that moat and all the gardens. The gardens are just transforming how your chateau looks - the fountain garden especially. GO Dan!
Dan is worth more money, he's transformed and is continuing to transform the grounds. They look amazing!!
Kirstie what a worker
wow! just wow! what a great team!
@@joysfairclough Thank you, Joy..
Wow the Moat looks amazing , weirdly, have no idea why but seeing it like that made me tear up. Lalande is being rejuvenated and its a beautiful thing to see 😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
What a wonderful episode! Fun, great people and a spectacular job on the moat! Congratulations to all the hard workers at Lalande!
Great job on the moat!❤
Amazing and hard job of clearing the moat - bravo - what a difference - looks amazing. A big 👍 for Ian too - he works non stop too.
OMG AAAAMAZZZZING!!! The chateau and the moat are looking INCREDIBLE!!! Dan and Kirsty have done a superb job thus far!!! Soooo much hard work and I cannot get over the transformation of the moat!!! I love watching the rebirth of LaLande!!! xxoo
The gardeners are tremendously hard workers. The grounds put the polish on the chateau.
Looking.good the moat, with hard working staff.😊
