@@Dave-gk6si To not love deeply is to not love at all. I cannot love on part nor in half. I cannot love holding back or hidden. Only openly, honestly, sincerely and devotedly or else it isn't love. For love is without selfishness but rather selfless. It does not seek gain but gives. It doesn't take but sacrifices freely of its own for the good of that which it loves. It is too deep to measure, too high to ascend and so wide that you can never truly comprehend it or embrace it. It's least expression is greater than all the gold you could amass. Should you ever meet it or even glimpse it, find yourself in its presence or to have been the object of its affection, know then that you have lived more than a lifetime to have found it, for some have never crossed it's path or ever felt it's touch. Remember a black bear in Northern California attacking my uncle and two friends when it came out of hibernation. My uncle put a 4 foot pickax through its back, killed it. Severed its spine. His friend Max was hurt pretty bad. Their courage was remarkable.
I'm glad they're okay, but I couldn't help noticing there was no account of what led up to the attack in the first place. I'm fairly scrappy, not terribly timid, and I do love the outdoors, but when there's a bear around I am GONE. As my ex-husband used to say, discretion is the better part of valor!
This is not a reason to start killing bears. Brave kids for sure and I'm glad they made it out alive but the bear was just being a bear. Same a sharks just being sharks. We need to stop killing hundreds of animals just because of a single incident of nature like this.
For all the people confused in the comments: THEY WERE NOT HUNTING ANIMALS! They were looking for discarded (shed) antlers! That's why they didn't have any weapons.
Bears right now are in their last feeding frenzy as winter approaches. We have lots of fat, small bears come into town this month, and my theory is they're here in Invermere (and Windermere) B.C. to get away from the much larger aggressive bears. They're rarely a problem: one chubby this a.m.walks down my street, then strolled back again. They're ready for winter.
Yep; I was wondering, if the boys were out hunting for antlers, might they have also been stumbling around a bear's prime feeding ground just at the wrong time of year? Not trying to victim-blame; nope, I'm just trying to educate myself about how to act in bear country when I'm out camping. Like, deer are also fattening up in the autumn, and both deer and bear like berries, not to mention bears probably enjoy a nice meal of venison. hmmm...I have googling to do...
I can tell you they will always have that bear smell that bear breath on there minds . They are lucky to have survive because that bear could of ended both of them in an instant ! The bond between them is what saved them you never leave a friend behind . My prayers go out to them both for a speedy recovery !

Fatal grizzly maulings are some of the most descriptively horrifying accounts you can come across. So glad to hear these guys made it out and that they had teamed up when they split. That's the biggest reason I think there's a happy ending. The absarokas are notorious for hosting problem and habituated grizzlies, I've heard sometimes relocated from Yellowstone. When I backpacked out there in 2019 we made sure we had a party of three at least and mainly avoided heavy forest and cover

Agree. People say they're brave and they fought off. No, they're ignorant for not being prepared to defend against carnivores and very lucky to escape with their lives. I do wish them good recovery though.
@@bazookajoe6133 yes I agree with you as well Bazooka Joe
Even unprepared, they worked together to keep the bear away from the other.
Safety in numbers and teamwork.
Or the bear just looked for an easier meal. If that bear was hungry and those boys were the only things on the menu, the narrative is 3 scholastic wrestlers lose their lives from an angry bear attack.
@@bazookajoe6133 either way they are lucky. 🙏🏼 hopefully fast recovery ❤️🩹
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Sorry you suffered such an ordeal. Good thing these guys are young and strong. God bless you.💋❤
Dagestan wrestlers are like “ how bear hurt you it’s just bear”
Grabbing a grizzly to defend a friend......that's some set you got there son.
That's a friend you hang on to.
Wishing you all a speedy and complete recovery! Support from NY!
Not very many people come through a grizzly bear attack so intact afterwards, they were very very lucky the bear was apparently in a good mood.
So proud. They stuck up for each other and they won. They'll have this story to tell the rest of their lives. Thanks for this heartwarming journalism piece, NBC!
I would never go to wilderness without bear spray, big knife, and my 45.
He's the next "I survived" story!
Wow that is horrific but at least all you guys are alive. I do have to say that you will have one of the coolest college stories to tell at the bar once you guys heal up. Cheers guys.
wrestlers are just built different, glad these boys were ok.
Is it me or is there a universal feeling we share while watching this? When it’s man vs. man it doesn’t feel right at all no matter what side is taken, but if it’s a animal vs. a man we all feel for the man or woman involved. I guess we can all really feel this story of unity and bravery in these young men and how they fought to keep each other alive and safe.
he'll never forget the smell of that bears breath.
Until he laps his boyfriends kootchie
@Mephisto don't you mean like Derek Chauvin will never forget that he's a convicted murderer. Plus, that 259 months, federal rehabilitation stay.
Thankfully they're all okay now. I can't imagine the scene of how you react and what to do. Kudos to these guys.
That’s amazing. It’s incredible how strong humans are when faced with danger
As opposed to other species? Pretty absurd comment, with all due respect.
@@nashmiddleton1763 yeah dude, because what other species is gonna fend off a grizzly bear ? And not some giant species that doesn’t even inhabit the same continent . These kids are like 1/4th the size of that thing , short of a gorilla no other primate or mammal is gonna pull that off .

Thank each other. They had each other. If god exist. He’s the one that sent the bear.
Bravest of men! Best of health in your recovery!
Not brave. Surviving.
So thankful all are okay. Very terrifying ordeal that could’ve had a much worse outcome.
Good on them for being brave and doing what you have to do to survive. That’d be one scary experience.
They survived because the Bear allowed it

How terrifying I’m so happy that they got out of this alive. I’m praying that you guys will heal quickly.
A Poem by Steven F Gooden
We're never as strong, as we are until we have to be. Never Do as much, unless the need we see. Only give our best, when we fail at mediocrity. We Love rather than hate when we admit we're one humanity. We always give more, when compassion moves our heart with unbridled generosity. We Become more of our potential when we are made to see, that clearly our minds can believe in unfathomable possibilities, while seizing every opportunity, here in lies one's destiny. More than our scars, higher than our stars, for in our flaws are what defines our features, they're uniquely ours, as human creatures.
We can run faster than on our slowest day. Reason better, and thinking it through all the way, regardless which direction our emotions may sway. We can find our voice when speechless, our strong words with meekness and our Courage in weakness. Always patience not quickness. Silence for peace than loudness, quietness of fear, not hopeless, for time and effort are equally unbiased. We are more than the stories we're told, we're the one's we write, each page unfold. We are the sum of our Lies and truth, fantasy, fiction, faith, and myths, no matter how uncouth. These are what shape us, our lives lived is the proof. We can be more right than wrong. More just than judge. More godlike than unlike. Reflecting Sunlight in our darkest night.
Providing refuge. Never more alive until we die within and begin again. A Human Ark Divine in our human spark.

Some were blind to see it although it was along side them. Others were deaf to hear it for they drowned it's soft whisper in the noise of the crowd. Still many ignored it though it called to them and beckoned them to come. Rejecting it's invitation and in so doing chose to wander alone, restless on a bed or sadness, leaving love Abandoned, without a heart to make its home. Be grateful, for you have and now are forever changed, forever Loved!❤

Wow soo glad to hear everyone came out safe 🙏🏽.
Wow! Thank God you both are alive! Prayers for a full recovery!
@susan: prayers are cheap lip service. And jesus gives children Cancer. Stay clear of that goon.
Wrestlers sweat and bleed together. We always meant that second part metaphorically, until today.
Tag Team wrestled a Grizzly and LIVED .. put that in Guinness World Record Book!!
Remember a black bear in Northern California attacking my uncle and two friends when it came out of hibernation. My uncle put a 4 foot pickax through its back, killed it. Severed its spine. His friend Max was hurt pretty bad. Their courage was remarkable.
Glad they survive. But don't blame the bear, because you wander into their home. 💯
Exactly 👍
I'm glad they're okay, but I couldn't help noticing there was no account of what led up to the attack in the first place. I'm fairly scrappy, not terribly timid, and I do love the outdoors, but when there's a bear around I am GONE. As my ex-husband used to say, discretion is the better part of valor!
Awesome. Incredible happy and proud of every single one of them. Hoping for quick recovery for you guys.
Glad you all survived. Prayers from Canada for a speedy recovery 🇨🇦
Thank God they survived this terrible attack.I pray they will recover from their injuries soon. ❤
What brave young men and outstanding friendship. Glad you’re both ok 🙏🏽❤️
I'm glad These guys r OK.
Hope the bear is ok!
A life long story they can brag about as a wrestler.
Hope they recover well and fast!
This guy is surprisingly chill for a dude who almost had his face ripped off
Thank God those brave boys survived that terrible attack.
These are some tough boys. Good parenting 👍
These dudes are lucky to be alive. Wishing them a speedy recovery. No doubt the toughness and grit in wrestling came in handy.
God Bless you all. So glad you survived. Prayers for healing. Take care of one another.
God gives children cancer. Shhhh don’t ask him for squat.
They didn’t run, in the face of death they helped each other. That’s rare these days I feel like.
These young men are awesome and incredibly lucky. Lucky they survived, lucky they have each other
Man, that’s a real life version of the movie, The Revenant!
I’m glad that they are all okay.
In the bear newspaper the headline ls "bear defends itself from humans threatening him".
Such brave young men. Prayers
You guys are extremely lucky. A lot better than the outcome with my friend Craig this spring. Glad you're okay
Bro, they just took the definition of "Ride or Die Friends" to an entirely different level 😯
They survived because they're young, fit, strong, and a team! Excellent!
He's gonna have the most epic face scars
Who goes into the wilderness without a weapon capable of bringing down a hungry bear? Who?
A wrestling team capable of bringing down a hungry bear with their bare hands.
That is a true ride or die hommie. Cheerish that kid of friendship
I'm glad their ok. I'm sorry about the bear's bad breath. 🥺🙃💙🦋🇺🇲
Yeah also sorry how it snapped their bones like matchsticks and ripped shreds off their face
Awwww, cute 🐻💕
It is a sign a true friendship. Not many would of have done what that boy did. Its unpredictable what could of happened and they are very fortunate to survive.
Glad they’re okay! But I think they learned a lesson. I would never go into the wilderness unprepared
True definition of having each other’s back! These are true brothers.
These young men are WARRIORS
I feel bad for the Bear.🦊🚬
Fatal grizzly maulings are some of the most descriptively horrifying accounts you can come across. So glad to hear these guys made it out and that they had teamed up when they split. That's the biggest reason I think there's a happy ending. The absarokas are notorious for hosting problem and habituated grizzlies, I've heard sometimes relocated from Yellowstone. When I backpacked out there in 2019 we made sure we had a party of three at least and mainly avoided heavy forest and cover
Have you ever watched the movie Back Country? It's based on a true story which I researched after watching it. Gruesome attacks. Stay safe. I have never been but looks beautiful. I bet it's amazing in person.
Not the bear's fault.
The battle scar and story he gets to tell his grandkids will be legendary to them.
Yeah, probably won't be very interesting to his children though. Intrigue skips a generation.
"It's breath stank" is close enough to a grizzly than I'd ever want to be geez 😬
